I use these stainless steel plates from amazon, drill a hole in them and use cheap carabiners to clip them to the nets. They never rust and make a great sound when you smash them with a shot.

If I'm cooking, I use the $16, 1.6 oz, 20oz Snow Peak bowl.
It cools down so quickly that I can pick it up barehand from a boil almost instantly, or use a shirt-sleeve. I have never seen the need for a lid, as I boil water for ramen or coffee mostly.
