I almost see them as a necessity. I live in GA with a black civic, summers are brutal.

If I don't put up a sunshade (this one in particular, covers entire windshield) and leave my windows cracked to vent heat (thanks to the ventshades), it's almost unbearable to get into my car, it will take your breath away sometimes.

You are probably going to need a new one. Check eBay or amazon

Or if you want to go the cheap easy way just use some sticky back Velcro and hold it up.

We were in the Black Hills in SD, so night temps were in low 50’s.

Along with that, these mesh window “socks” I got from Amazon were amazing to have. I put them on the back door windows & had windows rolled down.

Nope, it was $15 through Amazon Gotta have a sun shade here in Arizona, and I didn't have a spare laying around so I figured why not haha. Fits perfect tho, paired with the tint the thing stays nice and dark/cool inside.

Get 2 sets of these. 1 set for rear windshield and one set for the windows.

Going off his comment, i'd recommend this sunshade. I have it and it's amazing. Easy to put in and fits the front perfectly. But I also have my windshield tinted to like 50 lmao.

It's not hot, but your car turns into an oven. These things work pretty well.

In addition to the fan get a set of these.

They really help with regard to airflow and they really black out the car from the outside. You can still see out well enough but people can't see in.

Now this method isn't for your everyday mechanic trying to make money because it's very time consuming and if I were working on OEM applications I wouldn't be too worried about some of the unapproved methods described here because time is money and if you use the wrong method but you pay very close attention to how you work the ROLOC disc keeping the movement in large swings, using extremely light pressure low RPM you can achieve long lasting leak free finish for the rest of the life of the cars engine . It depends on a lot of factors like the stock studs combined with gasket type, torque pattern, checking head and block being square and true. Cleaning the mating surfaces by hand is extremely labor intensive in some situations it's easy to get frustrated and get whatever abrasive is handy.

This thread is a good one because it's one of the most annoying and tedious tasks when rebuilding race engines. My engine has many places RTV is used and it get's old. Only enjoyable part is seeing a shiny clean factory looking finished part.
