If you want something just super short and bedtime related, we really like sweet dreams pout pout fish. My kid loves the pout pout fish books and i got this one expecting a longer story but it is short and sweet for ending story-time and cuddling down for bed

Not sure how many of you folks have children in this age group but thought I would share nonetheless. Our good friend Sy Montgomery and aquatic photographer Keith Ellenbogen have teamed up to create Project Piaba's first book!

Project Piaba is an international collaborative effort by fishery scientists, conservation biologists, industry trade partners, public aquariums, and fisherfolk, utilizing the home aquarium fish trade as a mechanism to promote environmental stewardship and sustainable development in biodiversity hot spots around the globe. The projects primary focus is the Cardinal Tetra fishery in the Rio Negro, which supports a sustainable livelihood for hundreds of families living in the Amazon Rainforest(60% of the local economy).

For over 25 years Project Piaba has lead teams researching conservation outcomes from the fishery, its socio-economic impacts, developing best-handling practices, developing market strategies for our industry trade partners, providing education and training for fisherfolk and their communities, and utilizing this model to identify other fisheries which could have a similar conservation outcomes.

I was not clear. Let me clarify.

> In-N-Out Burger ... pay their employees a living wage

How much does In-N-Out Burder pay their employees?

Also, since we're appending snark to our posts now, I'd like to point out that the clause "they pay their employees a living wage" occurs exactly once in the text I replied to, in the second sentence of the third paragraph. This is well past the first sentence. You might want to have someone read you this book. It will do wonders for your quantitative analysis skills.

Barry does.

> Life under the sea can be as dull as dishwater, until Barry arrives, that is. See, Barry is no ordinary fish—he's a fish with fingers! And fingers mean finger puppets, finger painting, knitting, counting to ten, tickling, and all sorts of fun things. It isn't long before all of the other fish want fingers, too. Life under the sea will never be the same again. . . .

  • Lewis and Clark and Me: A Dog's Tale by Laurie Myers

This first one is definitely not a typical choice! It's the story of the Seaman, the Newfoundland dog that journeyed with explorers Lewis and Clark. We have Newf so I put it on our registry so our bebe can hear a story about a famous Newfoundland like our puppy :)

  • The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson

I got this one for my husband because I thought it was called "The Grumpalo" and I always joke that husband is grumpy. Now that I've read it, though, I like the onomatopoeia style of the writing, I'm not sure I like the message of it!

  • Moana Little Golden Book

We felt the baby kick for the first time while in the theater watching Moana, plus we both love the Polynesian music and culture in the movie and the message of the story, so Moana has become kind of a thing for us this pregnancy.

  • Sheep in a Jeep by Nancy E. Shaw

Another gift for my husband, because he loves Jeeps :D

  • McElligot's Pool by Dr. Seuss

So I snuck in a Seuss book, but it's not one of the most popular ones. This is my dad's favorite children's book and know he will love reading it to our little one.

I really love Mister Seahorse by Eric Carle. It's all about daddy fish who take care of babies and it's freaking adorable.

This is a gift I want, need, wear AND read! It's for the whole family. I want this because it was one of my favorite books growing up and I want to share it with my kids. We don't have many books. It has a little finger puppet, so I can wear it and read it to them. :) I need it because my daughter needs more books because she just started kindergarten and is learning to read. It's a little more than $5 ($6.69) but it's pretty close. I remember in elementary school, at our library, there was a waiting list because everyone wanted the book with the shiny rainbow fish! I have 3 little ones ages 2, 4 1/2 and 6. The younger two are nonverbal and my 4 year old has autism. My 6 year old just turned 6 on Nov. 28th. They have no gifts so far so it would be nice to have this book since it also has sentimental value to me. Thank you for the contest! I hope you are having a lovely holiday season.

I had a book called Informania: Sharks when I was a kid. Might that be the one?
