I haven't made that switch in particular, but I can attest to the streetability of the zx6. I've put down just under 21k in 10 months of owning it, with more than a few 400-500mi rides. It seems to be a little better for commuters than other i4's (has a little more oomph down low) but comfort is definitely not a priority with this bike.

If you're planning on putting major miles up, get a different seat than stock and snag a pair of padded bicycle shorts.

i know this reply is kinda late, but i found that wearing biking shorts with the gel padding helps a lot. I wore one of those while taking my ninja 300 on a 120 mile (240 mile RT) trip and my butt was really only sore for the last 40 miles or so
