The saem cover perfect tip concealer is a Korean dupe for Nars Radiant Creamy concealer. It is slightly less creamy but more pigmented. I would say it’s 95% as good and costs $5 on Amazon. Game changer. I don’t mess around with Nars anymore.
[the SAEM] Cover Perfection Tip Concealer SPF28/PA++ 6.5g #1 Clear Beige https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X847AG2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_7bFWzbVHATYGX
Item: Coastal Scents Revealed Palette
Where can you find it: [their site] (http://www.coastalscents.com/makeup/eyes/eye-palettes/revealed-palette.html), [Birchbox] (http://www.birchbox.com/shop/coastal-scents-revealed-eyeshadow-palette), [Amazon] (http://www.amazon.com/Coastal-Scents-Revealed-Eye-Shadow-Palette/dp/B00GR4TPW2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397406433&sr=8-1&keywords=coastal+scents+revealed)
Cost: $20 (Coastal Scents typically runs a lot of sales on their products, however)
Dupe for: Naked and Naked 2 palettes
What Makes it a Dupe: The colors are near matches of those in both palettes and the pigmentation is of comparison to the original palettes.
Item: Etude House Cookie Blusher in Grapefruit Jelly
Price/Where to Buy: Around $5-10 on Amazon, Ebay
Purchase Date/How Often Used: Summer of 2013 / Used 4-5 times a week.
Love/Hate: Love everything about it, it has great pigmentation and pay off. Hated the blush puff, I guess.
Bonus swatch on mah face!
Personally, I couldn't think of a good strategy for this, so I bought SPF finishing powder like this.
I'm an NC50 and it took me forever to find something that didn't blend into my skin when I tried to contour. Then I found Sleek's Contour Kit and it was a complete game changer for me. I don't really use the highlight shade, IMO it works better as a blush for No Makeup Makeup days or when I'm wearing a red lip. I really wish Sleek were available over here in North America, but at least they ship here (or you can find them on Amazon if you're not comfortable ordering from them)
I bought it in April and hit pan on it this month. That's something that never happens: The only things I ever seem to use up are foundations. Since April though, I've found out there are a few indie companies with bronzers dark enough for deeper skinned girls.
Fyrinnae has a matte bronzer that looks promising.
Life's Entropy has a cream contour in stick form. (The shop's closed right now for post-holiday restocking, but here's a swatch)
I haven't tried Blackbird Cosmetics new Skulpting Powders yet, but I was very pleased to see there were 2 to 3 shades for people darker than NC35. I have her Magick Trick Powder in Orange and it's amazing for setting my foundation.
When I run out of my Sleek, I'm planning on getting samples from everyone and seeing which I like best.
As far as Highlighting goes, I use Revlon ColorStay Concealer in Deep and set it with either Banana Powder or Blackbird's Magick Trick.
Skin Type: Very Sensitive
Concerns: Pore Size, Skin Tone, Blemishes
Morning 🌞
EVENPRIME | Gel Cleanser | $16 (TOP 🌟 THREE)
Gentle pH-balanced facial cleanser with subtle Yuzu fruit scent. Gel-like texture. Cleans skin without stripping or over-drying. Protects and fortifies the skin barrier – helping to reduce the appearance of blemishes. Wins a place in my "top three" because I've tried cleansers from a bajillion different brands (Glossier, Drunk Elephant, Malin+Goetz, Krave, Kiehls, Shiseido) – this one not only feels great on my skin, but has helped keep me blemish-free for nearly a year. Plus I'm a sucker for all things Yuzu. 🍋 I'm on my third tube – highly recommend.
EVENPRIME | Face Mist | $24 (TOP 🌟 THREE)
Acts like a toner and essence in one. Because it’s meant to be a skincare product, the spray strength is more refreshing compared to sheer setting sprays. No sticky, tacky feeling. Rich in “best of” K-Beauty favorites like Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate and Centella Asiatica (Cica) extract. Helps balance my skin tone, reduce pore size and makes my skin feel and look healthier. EVENPRIME also wins a "top three" spot here, because it's wasn't easy to find a fragrance-free, alcohol-free toner WITH Galactomyces. I find this product to be a more advanced version of the CosRX Galactomyces spray, and since using I've started to get compliments from strangers about my skin/pores.
THE ORDINARY | Caffeine Tincture | $7
This is the only product I own from The Ordinary (due to the price). Caffeine helps to temporarily reduce the appearance of under-eye bags. The effect of this product is pretty minimal, and the applicator sucks – too much product comes out, but I feel “better” doing something – I’d say I’m on the team that considers under-eye creams to be a beauty industry scam. Worth trying for the price.
EVENPRIME | Daily Moisturizer | $32
Super lightweight daily moisturizer (could be used as a primer – works great under makeup or SPF). A good product for guys if they’re afraid of the “greasy” feeling of traditional moisturizers. Also rich in Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate and Centella Asiatica (Cica) extract.
KRAVE BEAUTY | Beet Shield SPF50 | $20 (Not Pictured)
I have super sensitive skin and get irritation from products containing avobenzone. I love that Beet Shield is coral reef friendly and mineral-based (with no “white cast”). SPF 50+ PA++++ (NOTE: I’ve also tried KRAVE’s cleanser, but prefer EVENPRIME’s – KRAVE’s has a slightly metallic overtone which I can’t really explain).
COOLA | Lip Balm SPF30 | $12 (Not Pictured)
It has a tiny bit of azobenzene, but it doesn’t irritate my lips. One of the best SPF products for lips imo. (I use the clear version).
Night 🌙
EVENPRIME | Gel Cleanser | $16
Really great cleanser. I use it 2x a day.
BIODERMA | Micellar Water | $5-12
I find mineral SPF sticks to skin, so use Micellar Water as a second cleanse just to remove any extra particles. Have been using this for years. I’ll also occasionally use the Banila Co Balm, which has a lovely, buttery texture. The Banila Co Balm feels more luxurious I guess.
EVENPRIME | Face Mist | $24
I also use this 2x a day – love how it saves me time. Feel like Galactomyces is the type of ingredient you really want to load on your face for it to work best.
IUNIK | Galactomyces + Rose Stem Cell Serum | $16
MANYO FACTORY | Bifida Complex Serum | $40
I alternate between these two serums, which I discovered on a trip to Seoul last year. Not sure if I’ll repurchase the IUNIK one (it doesn’t really seem to do anything, and has more of a watery essence texture). The Bifida Complex from Manyo Factory is a good/affordable Estee Lauder dupe, and contains a few nice ingredients (including my fav – Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate).
MANYO FACTORY | Galactomyces Essence Cream | $55
I purchased the SK-II products last year during a new year’s sale in Tokyo, but just ran out. Full disclosure, SK-II still uses methylparaben if that’s something you avoid. I’ve since switched to Manyo Factory’s Galactomyces Essence Cream (I use the thicker cream at night because I live in Los Angeles and the climate is so dry). When I travel home to New Orleans (which is way more humid), I just use the EVENPRIME one day/night because it’s cost efficient.
LANEIGE | Lip Sleep Mask | $20
I had tried Laneige’s water sleeping pack mask, but it dried my skin out, so wasn’t hesitant to try their lip mask, but GUYYYS this is a great product. My lips look so plump and beautiful after using it. They nailed this product. Wish they had an unscented version, however.
Other 💫
EMINCENCE | Strawberry Rhubarb Exfoliant | $48 (or KANEBO | Suisai Powder | $22)
So I let an esthetician convince me to switch to a powder chemical exfoliant. I love the smell of the product, but it last FOREVER. I also don’t love the packaging because it’s hard to use in the shower without fear of getting water inside and ruining the product. So to friends I recommend Suisai’s exfoliating powder. It comes in cute little containers, which are great for traveling.
CAUDALIE | Glycolic Peel Mask | $39 (TOP 🌟 THREE)
I’ll also work in Caudalie’s Glycolic Mask 1 or 2x a week. They call it a 10 min facial and no joke – once you wash your skin, you notice how radiant and glowing your skin is. The NEOGEN wine gauze pads provide a similar effect, but I don’t use them as often as the Caudalie mask (they are cheaper if price is important). I'll definitely continue to purchase the Caudalie mask, so it gets a "top three" spot as well. You'll love it!
(Any Brand Works) | Tea-Tree Oil | $10-12
I use tea tree oil as a spot treatment. Learned long ago that harsh acne products just make things worse.
ALSO the contour kit goes very deep so it should work for almost everyone
kanebo enzyme soap powder because I saw an OG Asian beauty guru write about how westerners are so scared of soap when really pearl barely is awsome for your skin and soap has a neutral ph for your skin and is great for aging. Someone said this is great bc it has enzymes and comes in little cubes so it’s great for traveling.
Does anybody know of a powder face wash that is not loaded with sodium laurel sulfate? Even the one you mentioned in your post is loaded with it and alcohol, as most of them are— even if they have a ph of 5 or so.
It’s not AB but farmacy-take the day off has the best ingredients to me so far, but it still has all the bad ones too. At least it’s not full of alcohol, so far as I can tell at least.
Farmacy-take the day off
Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Powder, Citric Acid, Water/Aqua/Eau, Mannan, Phaseolus Angularis (Adzuki) Seed Powder, Spirulina Plantensis Powder, Echinacea Purpurea Root Extract, P-Anisic Acid, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Ascorbic Acid, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Lactobacillus/Lemon Peel Ferment Extract, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Althaea Officinalis Root Extract.
Yeah, I dropped $126 and waited anxiously for 10 days just to hear that. So fucking frustrating. If anyone's curious what I bought specifically:
Are you referring to this? I saw it on one of tati's wtf videos.
I don’t wear foundation often but I am a shiny mess by the end of work. I use a three step skin care process every day and a gel moisturizer , primer, this shine killer, setting powder. and a matte setting spray.
You can use a foundation between the shine killer and matte setting powder. I use this when I include foundation in my routine but I don’t wear it often and definitely don’t use foundation at the hospital.
The only other thing I recommend is using an oil absorbing sheet regularly throughout the night. It’s really the best thing I’ve found to deal with oily skin.
Nyx silica powder is HG makeup status for me. I've really calmed down my oiliness through the tips on this sub but this is absolutely the only thing that keeps me matte throughout the day. I'll drive ridiculously far out of my way to find a drugstore that sells it
Currently using Too Faced Chocolate Soleil and/or Sleek's Face Contour Kit for contouring. I think I'd like to try a cream contour in the future though. I also use Benefit Watt's Up sometimes (particularly under my brows), or NYX cream blush in Tickled.
Amazon reviews all say it's made of plastic.
If you're looking for another drugstore option, you might want to try Revlon Colorstay Buff. It's not perfect on me, so I mix in a little of this [Nyx] ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0056GJ16W/ref=sxr_rr_xsim_1_s_it?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=3513574162&pd_rd_wg=Dm2Xs&pf_rd_r=3M1VQVY313N0HJG3PCH8&pf_rd_s=desktop-rhs-carousels&pf_rd_t=301&pd_rd_i=B0056GJ16W&pd_rd_w=5CuRA&pf_rd_i=nyx%2Bconcealer&pd_rd_r=35f9a0eb-f9e3-4506-be98-cc145b78f122&ie=UTF8&qid=1524534646&sr=1&th=1) green color correcting concealer.
Best: Healthy Wear SPF 50 powder foundation, which has been dc'd but is still available.
Worst: CC Curl + Care Mascara. It does curl, but it also smudges and flakes after just a few hours.
I would invest in a high quality primer. I like Smashbox primer myself, but Elf has a pretty good primer as well. You want stuff to stay put.
I also have oily skin, and I use oil absorbing sheets from Neutrogena. I don't think they're rice paper; it's some kind of blue, plastic-feeling sheet, but I notice that it's more absorbent than thin rice paper ones. I would say that one blue sheet gets as much oil off as 2 rice paper sheets for me. It also doesn't disturb my make up very much. I would highly recommend any blue oil absorbing sheet you can find (Clean and Clear also makes a decent one).
As far as general skin oiliness goes, I noticed a nice reduction in oiliness by using a face primer with silicone. I started out with Revlon Photoready and now I'm using a small Smashbox sample and the effect is the same.
I think your brows look fantastic! As far as DipBrow goes, I would watch a few YouTube tutorials first, that way you have a good idea of the different looks you can create with it/how the application is, and then if it fits in your budget, go ahead and get it! Anastasia has a bunch of nice brow products, so anything from them would be great, but it is pricier than what you're currently using.
I don't typically use waterproof eyeliner, but the Smashbox 24 hour eye primer is FANTASTIC to stop creasing. My eyelids get crazy oily during the day, but my eyeshadow doesn't crease when I use the primer (~10 hours? I haven't worn it longer than that yet). Urban Decay makes a really nice waterproof pencil. Currently the only color I have is "RockStar," but paired with the primer, it doesn't budge at all. This is pricey for a pencil, so if you're looking to stay in the drugstore range, Nyx makes some great eyeliners, but I haven't used their waterproof formulas.
They're still available on amazon! https://smile.amazon.com/NYX-Cosmetics-Powder-Blush-Pinched/dp/B004LXOLFM/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1493098912&sr=1-1&keywords=nyx%2Bblush&th=1
Hi, nice initiative and thanks for your time. I'd like to know if I use the right products and if I'm doing everything properly.
Using this mapping for reference.
Always have acne around 5 & 9, mild acne at 1 & 2. During breakouts also between 4 - 6 and 10 - 8 and the acne at 1 & 2 gets a bit more noticeable. Acne nowhere else on my body. Acne in general is not that severe in my opinion. But that's just my opinion. :)
Male Indian generally dry/combined skin, have had Acne since the age of 16, currently 22. After the shower my skin screams for moisturizing, which is why I believe I have dry skin. I shower twice a day normal temperature, sometimes cold showers, and I avoid getting my face wet under the shower.
Diet: Eat pretty much anything. Generally healthy things tho, also go to the gym 5 days a week. Like every other Asian family: Rice + meat + veggies lol.
This is my skincare routine:
By the way if you know anything about make-up, which I assume you do. I have very dark under eye circles, any way to make it the same tone as my face skin color? It's the thing that annoys me the most, and the women in the make-up shop never take me seriously when I ask for advice lol.
I quite like Nude Tude from theBalm, $22.06 right now.
I'm sorry, I don't really have a contour palette to recommend, I don't own any. I use separate products for contouring. This Sleek one is cheap with good reviews.
I would love to have this concealer.
I recently just finished mine and I love it. It really is an amazing concealer. Can't recommend it enough. Congrats on the scratch off. I never win on them! When I do I'm so ecstatic for the entire day, haha.
Happy birthday! How old are you turning? I hope you have exciting plans :)
I'm tired of summer every year :( I can't do bright sun, I am so not about bikinis, and all of the colors just don't work for my skin tone. Fall is perpetually my favorite season <3 I seriously cannot wait for all of the cinnamon and burgundy and scarves, ugh. Also, I'm a Fall baby and I turn 21 this year, so I am very excited for that as well.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen is going to be my Fall color, I think! Although I have been all about the pinky-brown nudes lately and have really been loving the butter lipstick in Pops, so we'll see.
If my Sephora wishlist is allowed, I'd lovelovelove this or this. But if not, this or this works. It is entirely up to you!
Thank you for hosting!
this baby right here. I have maybe like 5 other drugs store palettes, but ever since I got this one I haven't touched the other ones. Its perfect.
One thing that might help is getting a different hairstyle. Your dye job has grown out and the blonde tips look kind of like the style that was really popular among the "drama geek" boys when I was in high school. Even just trimming off the dyed ends would do a lot to help you.
Also, try using a light colored eyeliner to brighten up your eyes- [Holika Holika Pink Topaz] (http://www.amazon.com/Holika-Jewel-Light-Waterproof-Liner-08Pink/dp/B0087XTD3W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413754792&sr=8-1&keywords=holika+holika+eyeliner) is a good one, I use it myself.
Others have suggested contouring, which is good advice- I suck at it though, so I can't give you any help there, but if you need advice on blush then go right ahead and ask me! I have tons of it. My personal favorite is the Anna Sui Rose Cheek Color but if you're in the US they're ridiculously expensive- but they do give you such a nice, healthy glow. Nars Orgasm blush is good as well, but again, kind of expensive. (Although the Sleek Rose Gold) works well for a fraction of the price).
If it makes you feel any better though, your features don't really scream "dude" to me, and from what I understand going on hormones actually changes your facial structure. If you got a haircut I really think it would help you.
Good luck to you!
Laduree face color rose (Japanese blush) - the packaging feel so fancy and the blushes look like rose petals <3.
The price tag? outside 100 dollars T.T. Amazon Link
A foaming rice powder exfoliant like any of these:
Kniepp: https://www.kneipp.com/us_en/products/enzyme-face-peel
Dermalogica: https://www.dermalogica.com/daily-microfoliant/11-00,default,pd.html
Kanebo SuiSai: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005DP2FAA/
Tatcha: https://www.tatcha.com/product/CL-POWDER-V2.html
I am also a tret user and use these when my skin needs a gentle exfoliation. Doesn't irritate my skin. Lmk if you have any questions.
I like the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector 5-in-1 BB Cream. It's light, moisturizes the skin and still reduces redness and pores on the skin.
https://www.amazon.com/Garnier-Miracle-Perfecter-Cream-Anti-Ageing/dp/B00JNFDO6A/
Garnier doesn't sell this on Amazon themselves though, so I'd probably get it elsewhere. Saw a couple reviews on other listings from customers saying they got expired or wrong products.
For concealer, the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is pretty good. It's on the affordable end (Drug store brand), but has a good rep and is easy to blend. Concealers are like high density foundations, so you want to use as little as possible on the specific spots you're trying to cover.
https://www.amazon.com/Maybelline-New-York-Concealer-Light/dp/B0046VJTX8/
>Also, will wearing makeup ruin your skin?
Your skin will always be better off without makeup, but the general rule is to wash it off at the end of the day. Sleeping with it on is considered bad for the skin - But nothing that will ruin it after one night (So you'll get through hookups just fine). Just don't make it a habit.
BB Cream is better for your skin than normal makeup since it also has the properties of a sunscreen and moisturizer. It's been used by both men and women in Korea for decades to achieve and maintain that "naturally flawless" look.
I'm going to go with "Don’t call me a mindless philosopher, you overweight glob of grease."
EWOK!!
I think I'd really like try out this blush so I can add pops of color EVERYWHERE ON MY FACE. :P
Oooo fun flash contest! :D
Thank you for hosting! This is super cute. c:
Hi! How are youuu? Do anything fun today?
I believe your favorite animal is... Parakeets. Who doesn't love the lil buggers!
Yours: Elf is awesome! No one can ever have enough!
Mine: Because phone stands are sweet.
Hey lady How are you? My last week was pretty hectic we had family here for my SO brother's wake. While I do love spending time with family I was happy when they went back home so things could go some what back to normal. I think your favorite animal is a Panda and I say this because I remember getting you some Panda earmuffs.I am goona say this for youand this for me. Have a nice day.
I have a rubber bracelet that says "Boobies make me smile" haha. Add-on!
She's talking about this:
http://www.amazon.com/Merveilleuses-Laduree-Face-Color-Rose/dp/B00NEFDY0G
Insane price but it looks beautiful!
You might need to do some hydration in the AM using eye gel patches.
I use Peter thomas roth cucumber patches. They are pricey but they really work nicely.
I finish my under eyes with this rimmel primer .
The trick is to use the primer AFTER you use concealer. This shocks people but I swear by this method.
Apply primer by tapping gently with fingers. Tap it a little bit then leave it.
Will dry to a matte finish and your creases will be diminished.
ALSO - Don't use any products with shimmer or shine. They'll make you look way older.
I don't use powder under my eyes.
I’ve just returned with a suitcase of products, I’m still working my way through them all!
Products I loved:
Things that didn’t set my world on fire, but YMMV:
Things I bought and haven’t tried yet:
Other things on the must-have list but got to the end of the trip and was all “I’m not paying that”:
I speak schoolgirl Japanese at best, but everyone there is only too happy to help. Screenshot as many products as you can so you can show people in shops.
It probably goes without saying no matter where you are, but knowing what colours work for your skin is a must. I’m biracial but look completely western, so I found SAs would try and direct me to pink-based makeup by default. My skin is completely yellow-based so I always had to politely decline their recommendations.
Happy shopping!
Ooh, that looks nice! Definitely not my eye shape, though. =/ Mine's pretty much like this. Part of the problem is I'm not sure what I want to do with my eyes - I guess I just want to emphasize them, since I like the color, but I'm not sure how one would go about doing that, and I'd imagine there are lots of different ways!
I actually have a ton of other eyeshadow sets/palettes, but they mostly go unused because I have no idea what to do with them, and I don't want to waste them on my terrible experiments! (Which I know is counterproductive, sigh.) The one I use for playing around is the Shany Bold and Bright palette. I also have a couple of these from ELF in purple and grey/black, but they don't have the greatest pigmentation, and unfortunately I don't think the colors look too great on me. :( About a year ago I ordered Shiro's Hobbit collection, which is so gorgeous, but I've barely used it because I don't want to waste it - and also because I don't think I can handle loose minerals yet, lol. Finally, I just ordered a few palettes from ELF (Studio Prism Eyeshadow in Naked and Sunset, and Studio Baked Eyeshadow in California and Texas), as well as Sleek Makeup's i-Divine Eye Shadow Palette in Vintage Romance, and I'm planning on ordering Coastal Scents' Revealed Palette... so I really need to get my shit together before these all arrive.
So basically I think I gravitate towards browns/bronzes, which do go well with my eyes, but I would love to get some golds, pinks, and blues (preferably of the turquoise variety) in there. I'll check out some of the color combos on the Makeup Geek website!
Thanks so much for doing this, I've Never been glammed
My wishlist
I'd really like the Costal Scents Revealed Palette, amazon and website links
I used this one.
Yes Sleek has a rose gold! It is gorgeous! <3
cheeky blush (on my I feel pretty WL)
Thanks for the chance!
If I've done a really heavy makeup, I'll use olive oil for OCM. I should do it more often, my skin is squeaky clean when I do it. Followed by my heavy moisturizer by Meredith Baxter.
On just a regular day:
I either wash with water or with Olay ProX Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser. It depends on how greasy my skin is feeling? A couple of days a week, I use the Olay ProX Thermal Crystal Polisher, instead of the cleanser. I follow any of these with Aveeno daily moisturizer, every day.
At the end of the day, if I've worn makeup, I use Rimmel's eye makeup remover and Neutrogena's daily cleanser. I moisturize each night with Meredith Baxter, it's quite heavy. And, I use either Olay eye cream or Coconut Oil around my eyes.
Thanks for hosting! Sorry it's all shipping, but dang...it's so cute! $7.41, total!
Ilovethedaisypup
Yay skincare! I've really transformed my skin from awful and dry to soft and glowy! Here is how-
Morning and night
ilovethedaisypup woo! thanks for hosting, i also love to see everyones skincare regimes! :)
Edit: oops i forgot to link an item
Welcome! Purple is a great color for green eyes! You could try out some blush too. NYX has some great colors and the you can't complain about the price tag. I would recommend starting with a color similar to your own flushed cheeks. Depending on your skin tone, NYX Pinched seems to be an almost universal color. And don't forget your lips! A tinted lip balm can really tie everything together and make you look so polished, even if it is a just a mascara and lip balm day.
I am extremely frustrated by elf and its quality, sorry! The following is what i do when lazy but gotta head to work.
Suck it, redness and under eye circles and various discolored skin!
I get this at whole foods for like 14 usually. i know its not like the drugstore but i find this is great bang for buck
and the invisible powder to set here. I hear elf is making their brushes vegan soon so grab their kubuki brush, its like 4 bucks.
Sorry your gear got jacked, this should help keep you from being asked if you are tired all day;) My makeup tacklebox is more high end pro stuff thats vegan like Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics but the cheap shit gets you through the day fine:D
I've been really into finding a great concealer lately.
I bought the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer travel size, in the light neutral color. The full size costs a lot, so I wanted to test it out by getting this. There's only two colors available in travel size, and light neutral is too dark for me, and it oxidizes. It's not too dark though, so my foundation covers it up. I actually like this quite a bit. It'snot full coverage but can be built up. I found it sat on the skin very nicely and felt great. I wish this color matched so I could wear it alone but oh well. I'll likely buy this again, in full size.
I bought This concealer from a Korean brand I'd never heard of, after seeing someone mention it's a dupe for the NARS concealer. It's a legit company, and that's their actual amazon,so no worries about some random dangerous crap. I've only tried a sample of the NARs concealer, but this does seem to perform pretty closely! I haven't worn it all day yet, but the coverage is really nice, it doesn't settle in the cracks weirdly, and it didn't oxidize. Downside is it only comes in 3 colors because Korean companies seem to only produce their "ideal shade" which is white. I got Light Beige, which is pretty light but it's a near perfect match blended out. It's really affordable too, which is a plus. If this wears really well, I'll probably repurchase this.
I also bought the Colourpop concealer (as well as this shadow) but it hasn't come in yet. Hopefully I like it!
I recently got that sephora 500 point Clinique reward, which includes the Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturizer , the Pep-Start Eye Cream , the Almost Lipstick in Black Honey and the Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer in Rose Pop .
The moisturizer is a really generous size! It's gonna last me a long time. I've only tried it once, but it felt pretty nice, no complaints. The eye cream is kinda small but since you only use a little, I think it will last a while. I saw reviews that said it helped with dark circles and I think it actually has! Maybe I was seeing things but I swear it made them less dark with just the first use. For reference, I have really dark circles, due to genetics. It's actually helping me though.
I redeemed the points mostly for the black honey lipstick (and wanting to try the eye cream), and I think it was worth it! Black Honey is super sheer, and its a super lovely color, and looks amazing on me. I think it'd look great on most any skintone, really. The size is really nice in this, so I likely won't run out unless I use it like everytime I wear makeup. I'll definitely buy it if I do run out.
The Matte pop lipstick is pretty too, and nicely opaque. Feels great on the lips as well. It's a little too bright for me, but I can smudge it to do the gradient lips and it looked great.
I actually highly recommend this reward! I'm very happy with it.
So I don't do much honestly :/ if I wore make up that day ,2kids under 2, its a luxury & rare that I wear it :'(, I'll use coconut oil as a makeup remover & about a couple times a week use philosophy exfoliator in the shower. Should I be doing more? I have kinda oily sometimes dry skin but really red. I have no idea about skin care! Help! ...I should probably just make a thread...

I have heard that this brand of Blush is really great and comparable to the Nars blushes. And the Rose Gold is supposed to be a dupe to Nars Orgasm which is absolutely beautiful!
Hello and Welcome!!
I just really got into makeup a few months ago and would love to give you some recommendations!
I use Real Techniques brushes. They're better than EcoTools and relatively cheap. I got them on a 50% off sale so I'd suggest getting a coupon code for maximum savings!
I just bought a BB cream off of /r/MakeupExchange (Which is a great place to get deals!) It's called Missha which is an Asian BB cream. Here's more info on them! I am waiting for it to get to me in the mail, but I've heard amazing things about it. They have more coverage than our BB creams in the US and the 42 SPF is AWESOME!
Other than that I really love the Lorac Pro & Pro 2 palettes. But if you're looking for something on a budget (and on Amazon!), the Coastal Scents Revealed Palettes (comparable shades to the Naked Palettes by Urban Decay) get a lot of raving reviews!
Hoped this helped!
Aw, happy birthday!
I think red is the best fall color. My favorite eyeshadow right now is this one from Shiro: Chiefest of Calamities {swatch not mine}. It has this great orange red color with golden sparkles. Perfect for fall and so versatile (if you wear a lot of orange, yellow and red like I do, that is).
I've been eyeballing this palette for a while now: [Revealed 2] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KYWDP1A/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1ENC8015J1ZTB&coliid=I2J5RBB80STQ9J)
Amazon has it too with free shipping!
I would go the rest of my life:
NYX blush in Pinched! Because it's a lovely colour and known to be a dupe for my holy grail blush NARS' Orgasm
I've been wanting this blush forever! As of right now it's under $5 but for some reason that changes minute to minute. BUH.
for my birthday, I would want sleek blush in rose gold
and a wet n wild brow kit and also a NYX butter lippie in sweet tart plus this viva glam Niki Minaj dupe and a blackhead tool total $25.91 ... what, it's my party! I can dream, right?!?
the ultimate in makeup a good primer makes all of your makeup look better, stay longer, and feel nicer. this should be an easy sell. and happy almost birthday!

Thank you :3
I'm also assuming that you are still learning makeup basics, so here's a list of a few things that I think would make a solid set which you can find on amazon or, most likely, at your local drugstore and won't break the bank:
In total, all this will run you about $100. Not cheap and I'm sure others have better suggestions but I hope this helps a bit.

Well, AB does have concealers. I don't really buy AB makeup products much, but I have a Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream that's pretty popular. The Saem also has a tip concealer that's widely used in Korea, I think.
Plenty of other Korean brands make concealers, like Etude House, Tony Moly, and so forth.
Based on your suggestions and the info available in r/makeupaddiction and r/olivemua, I've decided on the following products. Opted for mostly drugstore items as I'll be including a Zelda iPhone case for her and some other goodies as well.

Chose not to get a brush set as the eyebrow kit and blush each come with their own anyway! Also, everything with an Ulta link I plan on buying in-store tomorrow, so you have time to stop me if I've made a dumb choice.
That is some srsly big money! You done good c:
I'm just not committed enough to emptying my bank account to own any of the Naked palettes, but I'd love this Revealed 2 dupe to try it out! c:
You should be proud of yourself. Right now you're living out my dream: be successful enough that I can gift makeup to strangers like a fabulous, blending brush-wielding Santa Claus.
I love this one for travel. The tiny capsules are single use. You open one on your hand, add some water and with a little rub it foams beautifully. Such a good second step cleanser that doesn’t dry you out. I got it in Japan for much less. Probably Dokodemo has better prices.
Hello fellow makeupaddictioner!! I'm OBSESSED with makeup and hair so you're in luck, lol!
First things first: Makeup!
For a very natural, professional, and simple makeup look these are my go to essentials:
I think these essentials are perfect for the professional world. The makeup isn't overbearing and it gives you the appearance that all you had to do was wake up and wash your face... that you woke up flawless which I think is infinitely more effective/professional/approachable than piling on tons of makeup.
Here are some links:
Also, here is a tutorial! I really like her and it's very simple and something I would do everyday not just for traveling :)
Now onto Hair... Are you still with me?? lol.
Here are my three favorite "Professional" hairstyles:
I think all of these hairstyles will work great with thin hair! Especially the Chignon and the Ponytail!
Here are the tutorials (All for thin hair):
I hope you found this really helpful! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask :) I love helping!!
Bonus - Hair Accessories:
The End! lol :)
Edit: I'm bad at words.
So something like this: http://www.amazon.com/NYX-Cosmetics-Studio-Finishing-Translucent/dp/B009GLQG6Q/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1414481814&sr=8-4&keywords=makeup+setting+powder
Or this:http://www.amazon.com/Dermablend-Loose-Setting-Powder-Original/dp/B0002RI2PG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1414481888&sr=8-2&keywords=makeup+setting+powder
And should I use a light coat of it before I apply the latex?
So first I make sure my face is moisturized with whatever I'm using at the time (I haven't really found any particular kind I prefer) then I apply this foundation and I start with the five dot method, and blend out with a make up sponge. Then if I have any blemishes I use a tiny bit of this concealer on them. After I have an even base I move on to doing my blush, which I apply on the apples of my cheeks, and then I'll take the sponge I used for my foundation to lightly blend the outter edges of that. Next I fill in my brows as lightly as possible with this gel, and I take a thin brush with a tiny dab of foundation to go around the edges of my brows and get the shape I want. Then I start my eye shadow with the darkest color I want to use in the crease of my eyelids and on the outer corner of my eyes (holding a piece of tissue paper under my eye when I do this has really helped me keep this step more neat), and on the rest of my lid (except for the inner corner) I do a mid to light tone, then I finish by adding a really light color to the inner corner and blend into the rest (I mostly use my fingers for all this because it's just what I'm used to). I don't use eyeliner right now, so I just take a liner brush and line my top water line with a shade of dark brown eye shadow (this is probably why I'm having transfer issues on the bottom, so I'll probably end up getting an eyeliner that doesn't do that). After all that I use this mascara , starting with the base coat, then gel, then fiber just on the tips, and then one more gel coat. Lastly I use this lipstick in rose, and I take the same brush I used on the edge of my eyebrows to do the same thing around the edges of my lips to keep my lipstick from bleeding. Finally once I'm satisfied with everything I do a light spritz of this finishing spray.
Phew lol! I've never actually paid attention to my process, so sorry it took me so long to write everything out!
I use the NYX concealer wand but I wouldn't reccommend it, the green is much much brighter out of bottle, and it's hard to blend. If I were to buy a new one I'd go for the LA Girl green color corrector or if I had the money, dermablend redness concealer, you can get it at ulta
I'm not sure if I'm doing anything for Halloween but if I am, I'm dressing up as Velma from Scooby Doo and my BF is dressing up as Shaggy. This is because we already own the necessary clothes. These costumes are not spooky scary :P
Here's my item! Clicky.
Hi all -
My girlfriend loves make up... sometimes I watch make up videos with her so I have an idea of what to get her. But I have no idea what to get her for contouring... I was thinking the Smashbox shapematters palette... but based on my absent minded listening that seems like a lot of colors for contouring...
Would something like http://www.amazon.com/Sleek-Makeup-Face-Contour-Dark/dp/B008B7QY0E work?
I was also looking at 'cover fx' but I didn't know which shade to get her...she's NW 43 in MAC.
Any suggestions would be great.
Is this the one you guys are talking about?
That's terrible it's discontinued! Ugh!
Revlon Photoready Primer comes in three formulas, and the price is amazing. The link is to amazon.
There’s a great sunscreen that a lot of people including myself are using as a primer. [Coola Face SPF 30 Unscented Matte Tint Natural BB Cream]
(http://www.paulaschoice.com/beautypedia-skin-care-reviews/by-brand/coola/face/_/Face-SPF-30-Unscented-Matte-Tint-Natural-BB-Cream) is SO NOT a bb cream, but a mineral sunscreen and primer in one. The link is to the Paula’s Choice Beautypedia review.
Hmmm top 5?
Link
I got 5 on it
IVE BEEN GOOD I SWEAR
Oooo, favorites! This is fun.
Right now I'm lusting after NYX blush in Pinched. Only $3.59, but I haven't found a good excuse to buy it yet!
I got 5 on it!
My favorite makeup has to be blushes. NYX blushes is a really good product. Pigmented, blendable, and the price is just right.
Revlon's Lip Butters is a great lip product. It's kind of like a lipstick and lip balm hybrid. It's somewhat sheer, but depending on the shade you get it can be bold.
Eyeliners...gel eyeliners work really well and it's actually pretty easy to apply too. Maybelline Eyestuido gel eyeliner is one the best gel eyeliner. Waterproof, doesn't smudge, and it glides really well.
Mascaras! Drugstore and high end mascaras work the stay, so I say don't get a high end (unless you have the money to spend of course). Covergirl mascara is really good and everyone really likes their Clump Crusher and Maybelline mascaras are also very good. The Falsies is one of Maybelline's most popular mascaras. Both comes in waterproof, they can hold a curl really well, won't clump your lashes, and of course, they add volume and length!
The thing I want the most is the Naked Basics pallete by urban decay! God damn I want, I love neutral colored eye shadows and I hardly have any matte eye shadows.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AMYORHQ/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_ap_am_us?ie=UTF8
What I want the least is probably the one nyx blush I have in there.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004LXOLFM/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_ap_am_us?ie=UTF8
I'm not waiting on anything. ;-; never been gifted yet.
The world could do without the the fake eye lashes to be honest, even though I still want them. S o m u c h.
Hi and welcome! If you want your makeup to last throughout the day, be sure to use primer before applying it. There's facial primer, eyelash primer, lid primer, lip primer...I mostly use lid and facial primer--Urban Decay and Smashbox, respectively. And if you really want your makeup to stay without budging, you can spray your face with a makeup setting spray (Urban Decay makes a good one). Hope this helps!
Pwease
:)
GLAM ME PLEASE!
I would love to get this nyx blush in peach. I keep hearing about how good it is but my ulta is always out. If you order it from blue scandal, it comes in at under 5 and not an add on item. Thanks for doing this as always. :D
Hey! I'm from Quebec too! Just ordered it off Amazon.ca from Rude Cosmetics! http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0056GJ16W/ref=pe_386430_126088100_TE_item
Hey! Generally with undereye circles, you want to work on correcting the colored "dark" portion with a color correcting concealer. If your circles are more blue-toned, you'll want to opt for a concealer that is peach/orange-based. Orange is opposite of blue on the color wheel so it successfully cancels it out. If your cirlces are more purple-toned you'll want a yellow-based concealer (for the same cancelling effect).
As far as looking "natural" I totally understand and to address that you'll need to determine what the skin is like where you'll be putting the concealer. My undereyes are generally more normal to dry so I just use a liquid concealer and I'm usually good for the day. If you tend to be more oily in that area you'll need to "set" the liquid concealer with a powder, which, based on what kind you use (translucent vs. normal powder) it can add to the coverage.
I understand probably being a little intimidated about purchasing makeup as a guy. If you're not feeling up for going to a makeup counter and getting matched (even though there's NOTHING wrong with it, I've seen so many guys at the mall at makeup counters for themselves, it's awesome), you could maybe start with a drugstore product where the store has self-checkout. I know most Wal-marts now have self-checkouts as well as a decent selection of cosmetics. Wal-mart also carries Physician Formula which has these duo concealers with one side that has the "correcting color" and the other side just the regular concealer. I used this when I first started getting into makeup.
I gave you a link to a yellow-based product, but NYX (also a drugstore brand) has a peachy HD liquid concealer that would be good for blue undereyes. I use the shade in "Light 03" for my blue undereyes almost every day.
Thank you!
Edit- is this the one?
I wish I had a blush that wasn't too dark for my complexion.
These are the products I use. I start with this primer, then I use this color corrector, this concealer, and [this foundation](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PFCSUNC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1]. I finish with this etting powder.
Im going to add more as I find them. On mobile.
set of 12 eyeliners for $7
An absolutely fantastic mascara for less than $6
NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk is a makeup essential, it's only $6.50
NYX eye pencil in Black, under$5
a concealer for only $4
and a NYX concealer in a jar $5
I love makeup. You are an absolutely fantastic brother/sister!
This is the one I'm using in the picture, and it's been my favorite concealer so far. Applying it with a rubycell puff helps give it that soft airbrushed look.
