Head to the bookstore and get the staff to recommend some fantastic children's books.

Get a family membership to the local zoo, aquarium, children's museum, nature center, etc. (although check first - many places let children 2 and under in for free, so a couple's membership might be a better value).

I use these gloves, and sometimes I'll then throw a sock over the gloved hand for extra protection. While moving the doll, I put the arms sorta in towards the body and try to have the hands on the torso so there's less chance of them bumping into anything. When I'm posing the doll, I do the hands last - which would usually end up happening anyways since they tend to get knocked out of position easily. For what it's worth, I usually put stocking, socks and shoes on pretty early into what ever I'm doing to also protect another easily damaged area.

Yes. This one! I wrote about it under another comment. It fits my small head perfectly and it can even be adjusted to be tighter for windy days. It's packable and has wire in the edge of the brim so you can straighten or curve the brim to your liking.

If you opt the do the flower sash I’d cut it to just under the length you need and sew a touch of elastic on the ends (and sew the ends together) so it just slide on and off and lays almost flat on whatever service you choose to display it on.
