Hair spray as noted below or hair chalk is your best bet. The latter is a little easier to apply in a narrow area like a beard. If you go with hairspray, put some vasoline on your face in the areas you don't want colored for easy clean up. For chalk, I've had good success with this brand for semi perm and temp colors.

Also if she has a lot of eyeshadow palettes, I've found large letter holders to be useful when storing them (I own this one but I do wish it were a bit larger :http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VRT0DW/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I have medium brown hair and it's not super vibrant (although I'm used to bleaching and dying mine so I might be slightly biased!) but you could definitely see the blue!! The pack I bought came with a white/silver color that it said to use first if you're having trouble seeing the other colors in your hair.

Like I said I'm not 100% happy with the way it sets up (or doesn't), but the scents are nice, I could see the color, and it only took me a couple minutes to do a pretty thick chunk of bangs! But there's lots of different brands and also kinds that look like make-up pallets that you run through your hair, so it's a lot of experimenting with what works for you!!

There's hair chalk and colored hair sprays and hair mascara and colored hair gels that come in white/gray. They all have their own problems, but since you're not going for pure white hair/beard, something along those lines would probably work.

I went through /u/PapaFargo and I picked hair chalk it because I have never seen this before. He said he would use this in his beard and while looking through his list, there were other creative art related items so I think there is a strong creative side to this person. I wish I had the confidence to wear colourful hair chalk!

This chalk should make your hair the right color! and it would just wash out the next day. i just really think this is the best option for you. I just know how tough it can be to get colors out, without completely ruining your hair. and i really think you’ll regret it if you dye it for only one night, and then it doesn’t come out. oranges/reds are super difficult to get out. and you’ll have to bleach your hair more than one time, which you shouldn’t do back to back. so most likely you can’t just get it back to platinum in one day.
