This Fossil purse from Amazon in black. I've had it for about a year, and it does fit most of my essentials (non work/school). But I am getting a little bored with it haha.

u/Cannonball_Sax · 33 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I use a Travelon crossbody. It's got a million travel/safety gimmicks but I like it because it's well made and has sturdy zippers. I have a separate bag for my camera and will carry both if needed, even if it's not particularly fashionable lol.

Yes to Fossil. I've had one of their laptop-sized bags in heavy daily use for 5 years, and it's just finally getting tattered. It still gets tons of compliments though. I have a thrifted small crossbody that has been in use for >10 years as well. I feel like a lot of Fossil bags work well for the Indiana Jones aesthetic, like this, this, or this. The quality isn't "keep it as your only bag for the rest of your life," but it's solid. One zipper lost it's pull on my big bag, and one seam popped on my small bag, but in each case it was after heavy use and they were easy fixes that aren't noticeable, which is good enough for me :)

Got this unbranded Bottega Pouch 20 dupe via Amazon Prime yesterday, and love it SOOO much! Now I’m tempted to participate in Oli’s GB for the Marble Factory version...

Not sure if it’s affiliated with the campaign, but the official store doesn’t have them

I'm a reader, so I always bring a paperback book with me to the store and stuff that, my wallet and a small notebook in to check for size. Too much larger and I end up carrying around my whole life. I've found the bags with sections or compartments end up not having enough pace because they're divided awkwardly, so I go with a big main bag with a front pocket and a little inside zipper pocket with a long strap. I go for something in the neighborhood of this: http://www.amazon.com/Roxy-Tongue-Tied-Shoulder-Arabian/dp/B00HLRLU3Q/ref=sr_1_4?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1404894253&sr=1-4&keywords=purses, but I shop sample sales, craigslist and department stores. Happy hunting!

Recommendations?

I have one of these in red, but after years of abuse I think it's time to replace it.

u/volcanosnail17 · 3 pointsr/beyondthebump

Slightly above your price point but I have this bag and it is perfect if you want something that fits in other bags but also functions well on its own for a day:

Baggallini Pocket Lightweight Crossbody Bag https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015ESYD6Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_u.fNBb2DSRTSS

Some of the other baggallini bags are a little more affordable and may be closer to what you are looking for. I would definitely recommend taking a look.

I have this! It’s the Small Zoe Carryall.

I got it off Amazon ! It’s really great quality :)

Look for a sling bag. The kind that have only one strap.

Most sling bags tend to come in athletic styles, which I think looks best. You can also find some military/tacticool ones and some canvas/leather/vintage ones, but they often look a little silly, like a kid-sized version of a normal backpack.

I use this as a cheap, small, low-profile camera bag. It's just barely wide enough for my DSLR. Easily handles a book, water bottle, etc.

Also, they hang off your back instead of your side. So you don't have that messenger bag problem where you keep bumping into stuff.

A few years ago I got a Pacsafe Citysafe CS100 purse and it is has a simple design. It's good quality - the color has never faded and the interior has held together without any frayed thread. It's also very durable because it was designed as an anti-theft bag - you cannot easily cut through the material and the zippers are designed with extra security in mind. It's usually in the $80 range, though Pacsafe has a variety of other bags with the same durability and simple style.

I spent a lot of time finding the perfect park bag, and used this on my last trip. My boyfriend also used a lightweight back pack. It can carry a crazy amount of stuff, and while it is not the cutest bag around, I think I successfully avoided the frumpy mom look!

u/DStoo · 2 pointsr/BuyItForLife

Military duffels are a fraction of the cost of the Eagle Creek.

With what the Filson cost you could buy one of those 13 times.

u/OssiansFolly · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Something like this or this. I used this one on my trip to Europe last year so I had something to carry my tablet, personal info, maps, and portable charger around with me. Worked great.

u/hellorw · 1 pointr/blogsnark

I carry this to and from work every day and it holds a TON (laptop and lunch and shit, or even gym clothes if I don't have anything else in it). It's not fancy but it does look decent with business casual clothes and it has held up really well.

u/Buffy2017 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Check out this one (for future trips, maybe!)

u/dehue · 1 pointr/AskPhotography

I have never been able to find a camera bag that I liked. All the ones I have seen are way too bulky and heavy for me and assume that you are carrying tons of equipment. They also seem to be made for someone tall while I am only 5'1" and petite. I do not want to walk around with a giant bag that screams that I am carrying expensive camera equipment.

Instead I use a lightweight small canvas crossbody bag like one of these by baggallini (found on sale at TJ max in various sizes). It's just fabric so I can put it in any purse or backpack that I own and use inserts/lens pouches for the actual lenses and camera. Other additional equipment or lenses that don't fit in it go in my purse or backpack directly.
It's super light, comfortable and very discrete. I can take it out of my backpack and use it as a crossbody bag with just my camera for easy reach and light protection.

I’m looking for a medium sized purse under $50 USD that would work well with my wardrobe. My style is best outlined on my Pinterest board here: https://pin.it/xwxszo26ix76cv

I prefer black and cross body. I already use a small black tan purse:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GH1CYR8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_E8t2DbX0TEDNW

I need it to be large enough to carry a water bottle and a sweater. Or throw my hat it in when I’m not feelin it anymore.

Any suggestions? I don’t need an expensive purse because I don’t use them frequently enough.

u/sally__shears · 1 pointr/solotravel

Never keep it in your back pocket (that goes for your wallet as well). I typically keep everything in a cross-body day bag with a zipper, and in crowded areas like markets, public transit, shows, etc. I make sure to swing it around the front of my body so no one can easily open it from the back and reach in. This is the bag I've used on my last few trips and it has some nice safety features, though I don't think they're really necessary in most parts of the world.

If I'm taking a lot of photos in such an area I will often just hold on to my phone, or keep it in my front pants pocket with my hand hooked in there as well. But be aware of your surroundings and trust your gut -- if it's a really sketchy area maybe just don't take your phone out. You don't always need a photo of everything.

Also, I try to back up my photos as often a possible when traveling, just in case I do lose my phone somewhere.

Found this on amazon. Not exactly but fairly close. I searched "women's crossbody bag" in the "women's handbags" sections.

u/Raynebeaux27 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Popular people don't understand what it's like on the outside. They also don't realize how hard it is for those on the outside to get inside. It's not easy to just "speak up" or "get involved" and that isn't always met with the open arms they like to think they would have for new people.

A few months ago, I held a contest where the winner would be someone who suggested a purse I bought. Lots of interesting suggestions resulted: http://redd.it/17m50l. I bought three from that contest, but the one I use everyday is this one. It's way overstuffed in the picture, it's not as rotund as it appears. Lol

I love that your desire to fix things drives you to be a surgeon! Also, working with robots would be pretty cool!

u/Sushiki · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Is it on top of your head?

Jokes aside, this?

over 2k reviews, 30$ looks nice, shoulder and big.

u/atomic_winter · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This is the sort of purse I would carry around,
But maybe this too?

u/TheMasterCthulhu · 1 pointr/randomactsofamazon

Beatles poster arrives at my house on December 17th, girlfriends necklace arrives the 18th, and her bag arrives on her birthday.

u/circuitGal · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

So cool!!! Have you seen these?

Also you should totally get a stuffed cat and carry it around in the baby strap on thing or in a sling made from a scarf! That would be too funny.

-----------
EDIT: And by stuffed, I meant stuffed animal

u/lufty · 1 pointr/TwoXChromosomes

Like this? They're like $55.

u/shorinbb · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Hmmm I would have to say this bag and this album. I am most excited about those things right now!

u/ohhbacon · 0 pointsr/FrugalFemaleFashion

baggallini has some really fantastic purses similar to that design, but way cheaper. They are also made really well and super practical in terms of pocket sizes/shapes. I've gotten 3 of their bags so far from amazon and love them to pieces. I use this one daily, and I think it's somewhat similar:
