It really is cheap though, unless you're buying tropical fruits you have no need for and don't tell me a giant ass bag of peanuts, apples or oranges are by any means expensive.

As for B12, if you can afford any run of the mill breakfast cereal, congratulations, you have a plentiful source of b12 and if you don't like cereal a 6 month supply of B12 is £9, are you telling me that you can somehow get your yearly amount of B12 from animal products for less than £20?? Not forgetting to mention that nearly all farmed animals you eat gets their B12 from supplemements too

So, once again, educate yourself and stop spouting bullshit excuses

[Soft roll wheels](Heavy Duty Office Chairs wheels Replacement for Hardwood Floors and Carpet Rolling Casters Safe Soft Smooth Silent Desk Gamer Computer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CTFR3MD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_LJG3BbNDVK4R0) are a better and cheaper option. For me the underlay just caused a wider area of my wood floor to scuff and look faded despite preventing the deep gouging cause by the wheels. It was a loss/lose scenario.

Is it a question of not asking technology to do work for you on the Sabbath? I will admit that I am not Jewish and so please excuse any misconceptions or cluelessness I might have on the topic. However, I did live in a neighbourhood for years with many people practicing Orthodox Judaism and saw daily the ingenious ways they both followed their religion and made life work.

Would you be able to use a wearable BBT sensor because it will be sensing things anyway, without you asking?

Alternatively what abut something like this -

Again, i do apologize if I am totally off base or making assumptions.

Yep, this all makes sense. It's not too crazy that there might be cloudy pre-cum that still lacks sperm; post-vasectomy guys don't have clear semen, right?

I might have to chime in with a third iteration of this thread after I get my own 'scope, haha.

Not sure if you have an LTR partner that's also into data collection, but I'd recommend this thermometer for checking daily temperature to track her cycle. It's from Japan but there's a translation of the manual in the comments on Amazon. We've found that it's way more reliable than the garbage ones available in the U.S.

Lots of comments here talking about rectal thermometers but I want to stress that many doctors advise AGAINST using these at home. User error has led to perforations or tears, unfortunately. Licensed daycares, at least in Ca, aren't authorized to use them. My son's daycare used the armpit and adjusted (+ 2°, I think? Not sure). His ped suggested an ear thermometer. We've used the Braun Thermoscan 7 IRT6520 Thermometer with my son and it's done fine. I suggest whatever thermometer you do use, you bring it with you to the ped every time you think baby is running a fever so you can compare it against their reading.

Bottom line - ask your ped which type they prefer you use.

I had the same problem! I strongly recommend [this] (https://www.amazon.com/iSnow-Med-Thermometer-Temperature-ovulation-switchable/dp/B06WRPQ3ZB/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1525305939&sr=8-2&keywords=isnow-med+digital+thermometer) thermometer. I apologize in advance if the link doesnt work because this is my first attempt at adding a link to a comment. The beep isn't particularly loud BUT the screen lights up when its done so for me the light will catch my attention. It also keeps record of temps for 30 days (will save the temp day and time). Plus, as already mentioned it is backlit and has a large display so no matter how dark it is in your room you can still easily catch a glimpse of what your temp was before you fall back asleep.

I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SCK3JCB/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=femometer+vinca+%28disambiguation%29+ii&qid=1573742770&sprefix=Femometer+&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzSlNGMTA4UkdHU0RVJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjc2MjQyMzNGRVcxTlpZVDNYUSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMjYwMTcxM09PV0FWN0IySkU4MSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

It does its job and is backlit, which is nice, but some aspects do annoy me and the app has in app purchases which I don't like, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend getting this one. Also I loved that you can set the volume to low, as to not disturb my husband, but it frequently just sets itself to high, which is annoying as well lol. It does look nice though.

This is supposedly a very soft beep and you could probably use blankets to help muffle any beep there is

Since youre posting in r/metrology, you must be concerned with accuracy. That Braun thermometer is +/- 0.2 degrees C.

This one is +/- 0.05

u/IT_ENTity · 2 pointsr/JoeRogan

Jamie, roll that up.

u/Wolfgang_Fucks · 2 pointsr/tonightsdinner

Get a stainless steel cast iron cleaner (I got this one). It works wonders.

u/leeloo_dallas_multi · 2 pointsr/TryingForABaby

You need a BBT thermometer to do it accurately. I asked recently for recommendations and ended up going with this one!

I don’t find it too tedious, you just have to wake up at the same time every morning and take your temp real quick. That thermometer is nice because it stores your temps for you and then syncs to your phone so you don’t have to log it right away.

Temping is definitely the “next step” in fertility planning, coupled with using at-home Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPKs) so if you’re not looking to get too into the weeds it’s not necessary to start, but I decided since I’m 34, I don’t want to waste any time trying to maximize my chances. So why not 😂

I was/am in the exact same boat - first kid, limited funds, starting from scratch, going through reviews and prices drove me insane. It took me probably three months to get my registry together, and, even then, I am still switching things up, lol.

lucieslist.com was invaluable while picking everything out. I highly recommend you check it out.

What we have bought ourselves that fit our tight budget:

Graco Comfy Cruiser Travel System. We had already decided to go with that car seat, given that it seems to be the top-rated budget option, and the stroller ended up being a much-needed bonus. We go on walks a lot, so it works for us. If you don't need the stroller, the seat itself is, I think, only ~$100.

The Pack N Play, which I've heard from literally everyone and their mother is almost a necessity.

Because we don't have an IKEA near us to get our hands on a swanky $99 crib, we bought this DaVinci crib. We still only ended up paying $100 for it, as we found it on sale, however, we would have paid the $200 for it, given that the reviews are good, and, when compared to some other cribs that cost $400 and up, the price isn't bad at all.

As for the rest of the registry, we have on there a Moby wrap (affordable baby wearing, yay!), nail clippers, outlet plugs, nursing pads, a wipes case, a baby tub, baby wash, assorted crib sheets, waterproof crib sheets, Pack N Play mattress, and sheets to go with, crib mattress (we actually bought this one when we found it on sale for $20, and it's just fine), receiving blankets, dirty diaper bags (because we aren't getting a diaper pail, just a small can with a seal-able lid), changing pad, and a cover to go with, pacifiers, Dr. Brown's Gia Nursing Pillow, a bottle brush, bottle warmer, thermometer, booger sucker, camera to monitor the baby, and a few other assorted things that I couldn't really find a definitive "best in class" for, so pick at your own discretion: diaper bag, swaddles (although I've read good things about the Summer Infant brand), bottles (we're going with Phillips Avent), a bouncer (we got this one), and a swing.

I agonized over this stuff for what felt like forever, lol, so I hope it helps you and saves you some hair-pulling. It's all so overwhelming!

I was able to get patterns out of mine, so whether it was precise or not it was relatively accurate day to day. The pattern is what I was looking for.

I haven't seen one in person myself, but I found a couple on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Fairhaven-Health-Non-mercury-Glass-Thermometer/dp/B000KIOB98/

We use this: Safety 1st Gentle Read Rectal Thermometer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004V2I0FU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_IKcmyb6A08KQG

Pretty accurate vs the pediatrician's. Our doctor recommended the armpit or rectal temperature taking. Whatever you do, do NOT use the forehead ones. Those suck and are highly inaccurate.

u/baileyfaze · 1 pointr/TryingForABaby

Thanks for the recommendations! I'm still getting the forbidden page for the thermometer wiki.

Sounds like the Easy@Home fits my needs. The only Easy@Home BBT thermometer I'm finding on Amazon looks like it's been discontinued/it's unavailable. I'm also finding this non-BBT one.

Do you have one of these?

u/rawrosaurus_rex · 1 pointr/TryingForABaby

I splurged on mine. Before diving in here I charted on OvaGraph since it's connected with Taking Charge Of Your Fertility. When I was shopping for a BBT I had two requirements: silent (to not wake DH) & wouldn't require my phone light to read the screen. TempCue doesn't have a screen since it connects to the phone so you see your reading there, and it's silent. Bonus was that it automatically records the temp into OvaGraph.

Alas, after realizing the awesomeness that is FF I've migrated my data over. However, I continue to use OvaGraph to record my temp and move it over to FF.

I use this one - Thermometer

Had it about a month and I like it. Stores like 400 temps and has a backlight. Not the cheapest one either and only uses Celsius. No english directions (it's a japanese thermometer) - but the amazon reviews help a lot :)
