Follow up LPT: Buy good, good freakin' jack stands. They'll last your entire life, and your life is more dependent upon them than literally any other tool. Took me a near-squish-experience to realize this.
I had an extra bit of cast/weld on one of the teeth on my brand new 6 ton typical ratcheting jack stands and that caused my 1968 M-715 (around 6,500 lbs) to slip one tooth on the jack. I since bought these OTC 22k jack stands after several hours of research and I think they're the best jack stands you can buy, money no object.

Get a rubber pad for the jack with a slot for the pinch weld, like this.

I wouldn't lift a newer car without it, because my oldest car has developed rust at the jack point.

I have them. They're fine. Jack stands are pretty foolproof.

Some versions have a double locking mechanism like these to basically force you to ensure every time that the locking ratchet is fully engaged. (If it's not, the pin won't go in.)

Hi-Lift jacks are really designed for agricultural applications, like jacking up a wheel tractor by the axle, but they work great for off-road vehicle stuff. However, the jack does not mate with typical "civilian" bumpers well. 4 Wheel Drive Parts, Summit Racing, Amazon and others sell an adapter that fits on a Hi-Lift and allows you to jack up a vehicle with a conventional curved steel bumper. It's called a BL-250 bumper lift.

And the Hi-Lift jack, itself.

Over the years, I have found three used Hi-Lift jacks at garage sales, etc. usually for very reasonable prices--$30-$40. They are extremely tough, and can be re-built easily. I would never trust a vehicle sitting on a jack, not a Hi-Lift or any other jack. The vehicle must be sitting on JACK STANDS to be safe. Never go under any vehicle sitting on a jack without jack stands.

Haha fair enough. I think it's hard to go wrong with jack stands honestly. If you wanted something other than the basic Harbor Freight offering you could pay for the Torins, I'd get 6 ton. http://www.amazon.com/Torin-T46002A-Double-Locking-Jack/dp/B00026Z3DQ

A cutting torch is the first thing that came to mind for me.

Other alternatives include a brick saw with a metal cutting blade, and my personal favorite, a bumper jack.

Ramps are so terrifying for this very reason. Someone introduced me to vehicle positioning jacks (like these) and it blew my mind. These are the perfect complement to a low profile jack to avoid the ramp scenario.

Might want to try this!

I also have those 2 ton jack stands from HF and they are nice for the price. Just upgraded again though to 6 ton OTC:

The 'stinger' series is the same as HF, but there main line with the cut out logo are so nice.

I kick myself frequently for missing out on a set of 4 of these sold lightly used locally and will probably pick up a pair soon.

Will I ever be lifting an 18 wheeler? Probably not, but if I do, I’m not going to be second guessing these.

Andersen has a whole mess of levelling gear and they aren't too expensive, but they are specific to a TT or a 5th wheel.

Here's a 6 block kit for RV's with 6 point auto-leveling. I have a 4 point and the magnets are fantastic. You can get a TT version but not through Andersen and they're not too expensive.

Depends on your setup. My buddy has this one and it works well. Still $105 though. I would go with the side mount because it sits lower overall. His jack is by far the tallest point on his jeep.

Pretty sure they are these ones.

I've consumed (destroyed) several 1.5-2 ton jack: Several Harbor Freight jacks, an aluminum craftsman "racing Jack", and even a hearty steel craftsman jack. Also have destroyed several Advance Auto/ O'rielly crap 1-1.5 ton jacks.

I've since learned my lesson and went out to find one that was truly BIFL, and came across this:

http://www.amazon.com/OTC-5202-2-Ton-Capacity-Service/dp/B000XSJKB4/ref=sr_1_16?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1324329437&sr=1-16

Coupled with a set of their 6-ton jack stands, and I've never found a better combo. (But all jack stands are pretty much the same)

Manufactured by OTC, Spain, it is the same one listed in the Griot's catalog, but for a lot cheaper (Actually bought it before learning this). It is warrantied for life.

Me and my brother embark on some significant car projects, and nonetheless use the **it out of jacks in particular. I have had it about 2.5 years now, and have not been disappointing one second with it. I will probably pass it on to my kids one day!

Edit: I have spent countless dollars at Harbor Freight and had NEVER had anything last more than a few years, let alone a few uses. I consider everything from Harbor Freight Disposable. ABSOLUTELY NOT BIFL.

I didnt have to since as the G2 Kit uses paint brush, so I just painted around it since it’s all about the aesthetics.

I used the adapters i bought from Amazon

Seven Sparta Jack Lift Pad for Tesla Model 3, 4PCS Jack Point Pad Sturdy Adapter Protects Battery & Paint for Using with a Floor Jack, Jack Lift Pad https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QXXVD9Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_7q4tDbMK9X0ZE

Jackstands like these and took the stick out and put the adapters on top of it. Make sure when you lower the car with a Jack, to Jack it down very slowly because the adapters can get out of place. Be VERY VERY careful hahah.

I applied clear coat before applying the decal and then applied clear coat on the decal, so it can have the extra layer to cover it with 2 coats.
