Sure thing!

Preheat oven 350

1 cup almond meal
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tbsp nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp almond butter

[BLEND IN FOOD PROCESSOR]

2 bananas

[BLEND]

2 cups oatmeal

[FOLD INTO BATTER WITH SPATULA]

Bake 20 minutes @ 350

It's been a few years but I think this may be where I adopted the recipe from. I don't remember how or why I ended up with the quantities, but they work great! I use Trader Joe's almond meal, that's the good stuff right there, and Barney Butter, that's my kryptonite, makes me weak in the knees.

Sometimes I'll add in raisins, just fold into the mix after everything else. I tell myself every time I won't eat the whole batch in one sitting. So I end up grabbing half, eating them, then getting up again and grabbing the second half. Two, two sittings!

Get isopure protein powder. Protein with no added flavors or additives. Or not necessarily that exact product, but something similar that is an unflavored whey of some sort.

Then get a scoop of sugar-free PB2 powder, which has a monkfruit sweetener. Mix them together vigerously. Bam.

If you get unsweetened whey and sugar-free PB2, you can add your own stevia/monkfruit to taste if you want it to be sweeter.

Oh shoot, I think I actually posted the wrong brand. This is the one that tastes really good (exactly like nutella): https://www.amazon.com/Go-Lo-Foods-Hazelnut-Spread/dp/B00BRFJS6E

u/kaledit · 5 pointsr/vegan

Absolutely love it! I put it in salad dressings all the time. Not all brands are created equal though. This one is the best I've had available in the US https://www.amazon.com/Soom-Foods-Ground-Sesame-Tahini/dp/B015WU3X5Q/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1550090343&sr=8-3&keywords=soom+tahini

Amazon I think.

Although, thinking back on it. I think I may have had the Reece’s Peanutbutter Sauce. Still peanutbutter but thinner creamier and borderline liquid.

So I was totally searching on amazon to enter this contest, and instead I found this .... needless to say, I stared at my computer screen for a few minutes and completely had forgot why I was even searching on Amazon. LOL

u/Stinky_McDoodooface · 4 pointsr/vegan

My grocery stores sell their own ground almond butter, and it's just almonds. Same you'd make in a vitamix at home. Do you have a blender? Sounds like you aren't interested in that :) It's really easy if you have a powerful enough blender.

Kirkland's is just almonds https://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Signature-Creamy-Almond-Butter/dp/B00LRXTW2Q/

Jif looks like it's probably vegan, but it has trans fats https://www.amazon.com/Jif-Almond-Butter-Creamy-Ounce/dp/B00DJXWTB8/

I'm in Canada, so I'm not 100% sure, but it does look like if all else fails, you can order it on Amazon.

Amazon also appears to have the hoosier hill farm powdered peanut butter, which is a LOT cheaper than the PB2 brand, but I haven't tried it so I can't speak to the quality, but it does have good reviews and unlike PB2 which has added salt and sugar, the hoosier hill farm stuff is literally just peanuts.

Both of those are fulfilled by amazon as well, so not some third party that advertises one price and then charges twice that much in shipping.

Following the recipe above, without any toppings, each serving costs me about $1.45 - which for a lunch I do not think is bad at all. With two tablespoons of Peanut Butter as a topping, which is what I have been doing, it ups the cost to about $1.75 a meal. - but yes 75% of that cost is the hemp seeds

  • $0.10 in coconut milk (for 1/3 a cup of coconut milk)
  • $1.12 in hemp hearts (1/4 a cup of hemp hearts)
  • $0.04 in chia seeds (1/2 tablespoon of chia seeds)
  • $0.06 in Swerve (1 teaspoon of swerve)
  • $0.07 in Vanilla (1/4 teaspoon of vanilla)

  • $0.29 in peanut butter (two tablespoons)

updated to include specific measurements I use for each serving as opposed to the whole recipe which is how I determined the cost.

So since everyone has pretty much said all there is to say about what you did - i can offer some alternatives.

  • Fat bombs - i make some with artificial sweeteners and some without - make some - seriously they will be life savers. I personally love the taste of peanut butter and so i bought PBFIT - it tastes JUST like peanut butter - 2 tablespoons for 65 cals. I find coconut fat bombs easy to make without sweetener bc i love the taste of coconut - they usually turn out high in fat (which is super filling for me) and low - zero carb.

  • Low carb snacks -
  • seaweed chips (fucking gross to me but im told the herbed ones are good)
  • Cheese chips - cheese in chip form - you'll think you are in heaven
  • Recently purchased These delicious things I know - lots of sugar alcs - but it's erythritol which is not supposed to have an insulin response or put you in a situation where you can't trust a fart (a very important thing when considering sugar alternatives)
  • Pecans - these are the gods of nuts - seriously filling (calorie dense so take care) 1oz = 195 cals with about 1g of carb (4 carbs - 3 fiber - 1 net)

If you prepare properly you can 'gorge' a bit. On shark-week i kind of loosen my calories and as long as i stick to under 20-25g of carbs a day - i call it a win.

It's as delicious as it sounds: Vanilla Almond Butter by Justin's, No Stir, Gluten-free, Responsibly Sourced, 16oz Jar https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01684G41U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_62vJBbXBM6XJ6

So when it comes to fuel I stuck to some almond butter. If you look on Amazon there is a Pecan Almond butter from Legendary Foods (link below). It is completely keto at only 2g a serving. The taste is amazing and has zero sugar. Rule of thumb is a "boost" every 30 minutes of activity at least for those sugar blocks. I did it ever 45 and had no problems. I also do 1 before hand and don't hit that wall like I used to. I wouldn't suggest using f-bomb product those are kinda to high in extra stuff added by the look at the ingredients and the legendary foods ones just all around seemed to fuel me better but could be different to different people.

If Amazon has it and delivers to Germany, then Meridian Peanut Butter has no added salt and sugar, and is ~3g net carbs per 100g. It's pretty great stuff.

It's this:
Rigoni Di Asiago Nocciolata Organic Hazelnut Spread, Cocoa and Milk, 9.52 Ounce Jar

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0016LL5DS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Yo8gzbDAD8ZXM

There's even a non-dairy version. I did not pay $9 for it though! It was $6 at the store.

u/SerenadingSiren · 2 pointsr/AmItheAsshole

This is their natural version, it isn't too expensive either. I think they make it by roasting and then pressing the peanuts to remove most of the oil

I will admit that for a brief shining moment some years ago (I've forgotten which Elvis birth/death anniversary it was), these majestic things were the kings of cups.

Amazon baby! Here ya go!

You just have to spend over $40 to get that lovely free shipping.

u/Amagora · 1 pointr/mildlyinteresting

In addition they have also made Georgia Honey Peanut Butter Reeses, Cookie crunch, mini m&m's. And another favorite which last a very very short time Elvis Reeses which had a thin layer of sweet banana cream inside with the peanut butter.

Carbzone Spread

There are other chocolate-hazelnut spreads that are organic and without palm oil; this one uses sunflower oil instead. There are also other fancier versions called "gianduja paste." They're generally more expensive too, but if you have a food processor, you can make your own. Smitten Kitchen has her own version using peanuts; just swap out with hazelnuts.

By the way, good on you for not liking palm oil. I was in Borneo for a field course and saw the effects of palm oil plantations first hand.

I love Peanut Butter & Co. This one and this one are my favorites.

Some places do carry PB&Co, keep looking!

u/sawbones84 · 1 pointr/Cooking

you can buy the good stuff on amazon. very reasonably priced for top notch tahini, actually.

u/oroku_saki · 1 pointr/Moscow

I just thought I could give you a more healthy and affordable alternative.

Just remember that you are willing to pay $10-15 for a single jar of peanut butter here when it costs $20 for a pack of 6 in the US. Also, that $70-100 peace of technology would be also useful in other scenarios.

Try adding peanut butter powder (the one without added sugar). In two tablespoons you get 100 cal and 16g of protein. It can really help to boost a smoothie
