I got a "Super Eyes" similar to this one while I was in Shenzhen. The software on Windows is decent. OSX requires you to just use Photo Booth, so you can't adjust the resolution or anything. I got mine for $50, I wouldn't recommend it at the Amazon price.

u/orthostatic_htn · 6 pointsr/Residency

Littmann is the standard. Anything from a II to IV (Cardiology) level. I liked the Classic II SE that I had through med school, they now seem to have replaced it with the "Classic III" which is very reasonably priced.

u/Darc-Charlie · 5 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

Thank you! It's the Supremery Stetoscope Case.

u/elmurfudd · 3 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

i dont know the measurements of the minivan but the planck fits in these and they work great https://www.amazon.com/Khanka-Carrying-Littmann-Stethoscope-Percussion/dp/B01FFM7LJU/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1506381275&sr=8-4&keywords=stethoscope+case cheap AF too and its a hard case so total protection from small drops and scrapes

u/agent_of_entropy · 3 pointsr/nursing

Take a look at ADC, I love mine.

u/bakingpy · 3 pointsr/olkb

I use this case: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FFM7LJU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_aBwPzbJAXCDNG

Guess the price dropped since I've gotten it, less than $8 now.

u/BarkWoof · 3 pointsr/EDC

Not bad. A few items from my EDC if you're interested:

My pen light.

My trauma shears.

Edit: a few more.

Hip clip. I've gradually come to prefer wearing my stethoscope this way. And for goodness sake, DON'T leave yours on the rearview mirror of your car. Ever. Repeated heating/cooling caused my Cardio III to crack at the point where it hung from the mirror.

Reflex hammer. Mine isn't as cool as this one...

u/JadedCrimson · 3 pointsr/olkb

Looks like it's the Supremacy stethoscope bag as seen here. Amazon link.

u/elisha_gunhaus · 3 pointsr/Interstitialcystitis

I have struggled a lot with this. It got to the point where I thought I could definitely tell the difference between a UTI and a flare, but I would go to the doc for a urinalysis just to be told that there was no sign of infection.

This product saved me many a time. Super cheap and way cheaper than what I thought was the only similar product on the market.

u/truthdoctor · 3 pointsr/medicine

What I started with: Stethoscope, sphygmomanometer or a sphygmomanometer for the lazy, pulse oximeter, reflex hammer, tuning fork, a pen light, notebook, Maxwell, pocket medicine, clipboard, 48 pens (of which I somehow only have 2 left), and finally a pack of decoy pens to hand out to people that need to "borrow" a pen but never give back.

Seriously where do all of my pens go??? It turns out half them went into my gf's bag x(.

What I was given or picked up along the way: scalpel, needle drivers, tweezers, scissors, various types of vicryl, bandages, gauze, alcohol wipes, surgical lube (that I took from the hospital when no one was looking ;) ), and a pocket CPR mask. I took a bunch of normal saline and IV kits as well but they don't fit in the bag.

From left to right.

  • Inexpensive hemostat.
  • Streamlight 66118 flashlight.
  • Pen. Not sure of the brand, it was a gift.
  • Littman Cardiology III stethoscope.
  • Scissors that came with a pair of Rooke boots. I was sad to find out they don't include them anymore. Nice scissors for free.
  • Name badge.
  • K11 Bumper for iPhone 6+. Not super happy with it. It doesn't fit as well as I had hoped, making the buttons awkward to click sometimes.
  • iPhone 6+ (not pictured).

    Suggestions are welcome!

I work at a desk job 8-10 hours a night. It has been terrible for my health, both physically and mentally. So I've decided to pursue a new career. I joined a volunteer fire rescue service. I received my first responder certification. I am now an EMT student, due to start class in just a few weeks. Once I have my EMT certification, I can work part time in addition to my full time job for awhile, until I can pay off enough debt to switch full time to a job that is more active, more rewarding, and benefits a lot more people than just I. However there are some equipment items on my wishlist that I really need both for EMT school and my current practicing of First Responder. This is one of the items I have been coveting for rescue, as well as I really need one of these as I do not have a blood pressure cuff yet and I REALLY need the practice as it is actually fairly difficult to master manual BP readings. Even if I am not selected, I thank you very much for the opportunity and for being a generous person to help someone out.

/u/MrA1Sauce seems like they would be an awesome person and they get extra points for A1 Sauce being my favorite condiment next to Arby's sauce.

You can also buy this at CVS https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ACBKNS6/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1466604279&sr=8-2&keywords=blood+pressure+cuff&pi=SX200_QL40

What do you mean "decent"? The ones you'll be working with in the real world won't be $200 gold trimmed cuffs, so you should get used to the basic ones either way. They work just as well.

Edit: just saw you wanted a steth as well. Same rule applies. Just buy the cheapest one.

u/tw1080 · 2 pointsr/AmazonUnder5

My husband likes these, there's lots like it on Amazon (the ones I used, and the ones he uses are able to be thrown in an autoclave for sanitation). Pen Lights are also useful. If you have a cold environment and someone who works overnights especially, these are great, I put a few in my husband's stocking every year.

u/Squaims · 2 pointsr/medicalschool

There is no way I would buy an expensive one. They are way too easy to misplace. I got some of these disposable ones for second year, and they've worked great:

http://www.amazon.com/Primacare-DL-9224-Disposable-Diagnostic-Penlight/dp/B00CL6FDAS/ref=sr_1_sc_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1416496202&sr=8-2-spell&keywords=prima+care+pen+light

Granted, we are only seeing patients a half day/week--so I can't speak to the battery life, but when you are paying $6 for 6 of them you can't go wrong

u/danielledotgif · 2 pointsr/PharmacySchool

I got mine from Amazon, and haven’t had any issues. Much nicer than the ones sold through my school.

Enjoy!!

u/JoyceJokes · 2 pointsr/VetTech

Thats a stethoscope i just got. It is comfortable and you can hear very well with it! I was told to get a stethoscope with a bell on the back because apparently you can hear heart murmurs better with the bell. This one i have been using, its cute it has animals on it. It doesnt have a bell butdogs like it. stethoscope with animals

u/notthefakehigh5r · 2 pointsr/physicaltherapy

Yeah, for sports or peds, a steth isn't very helpful. But here is a link anyway:
https://www.amazon.com/3M-Littmann-Stethoscope-Chestpiece-5803/dp/B06XDHNZ3K/ref=sr_1_3?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1492484666&sr=1-3&keywords=stethoscope

Tho I hear the MDF brand is almost as good for much less.

I'm not sure what a peds/sports person would want, sorry.

u/zorroz · 2 pointsr/ems

Something like this is pretty cheap and doesn't look tacky if you care lol. I'd put it in pink though. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000SKD7UW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_5FxBybNJ8BQFY

Use these to test your drink before chugging. It's a technique that my first endo taught me way back when.

Congrats to her! The Littmann Cardiology III isn't much more than the classic and I am obsessed with mine.

Have you heard of ADC stethoscope? I bought this off Amazon read the reviews. You can save a lot of money. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006BV5MPA/ref=pd_aw_sim_sbs_328_2?ie=UTF8&dpID=41CHPzOGjcL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL100SR100,100&refRID=06VEVKN5BKZRS0F3BMRY&th=0

u/cycologist · 1 pointr/microscopy

I had a toy microscope as a kid -- it was a fun idea but not so good since seeing truly small things well requires more budget. I'm now in a business where microscopy is critical and have some nice hardware I can use to see truly small things, but there's a lot of fun in looking at larger objects. This can be done with cheap hardware and I use an older pen-style scope like what you posted even for "serious" business-related work (https://www.amazon.com/Supereyes-Portable-Microscope-Endoscope-Magnifier/dp/B0066H7H1Q ). These come with software a lot of the time but it's maybe not very good, so I use something called "SharpCap" which is meant for astronomy but is actually just an easy program to display USB camera images in real time so it works nicely for USB camera microscopy. I'd recommend getting this kind of setup (USB camera that plugs into a computer for display) since the display will be nicer and my instinct is that 80 dollars/euros is too little for a microscope/display/storage/stage that will work to anyone's satisfaction.

I found this one on Amazon ( https://www.amazon.com/Opti-Tekscope-Microscope-Advanced-Definition-Industrial/dp/B0184CCOY0/ref=sr_1_10?keywords=usb+microscope&qid=1567129440&s=gateway&sr=8-10 ). It has LED lighting (important for illuminating objects from the top) and looks solid, with metal construction that seems nicer than the one I have. Something like this would plug into a computer and display in real time, allowing you a large working distance from the object while being steady enough to watch the screen while focusing. There are lots of them like this for sale, some with higher magnification, but I think anything like along these lines would be a great toy microscope.

I have only had one true anxiety attack in my life, before I had it I thought I have had a lot. I ended up foolishly ingesting 5x200 mg caffeine pills and downing a monster. I then found myself curled in a ball in my friends room switching from not being able to breathe to feeling like my heart was being torn out of my chest. Numerous times over the course of a few hours I told my friend I was dying, I could hardly move and when I did searing pain shot through every part of my body. I have a small case of asthma which led me to using my inhaler numerous times throughout the night to no avail. In short that night I went through hell and back and will never return. I really feel for people who have to deal with anxiety attacks on a daily basis because what I went through that night I would not wish on the worse of my enemies. If someone is trying to take advantage of you they would not slip you MDMA they would slip you Rohypnol or GHB, more likely the first as GHB requires a much larger dosage compared to Rohypnol (several grams for GHB compared to a milligram or two for Rohypnol) To settle your anxiety if you think this ever happens to you again get something like this.

If you could tell by looking at it or smelling it, it would be a pretty shitty date rape drug.

You can buy these test strips if you're that paranoid. But other than that, just never leave your drink unattended.

OP I am actually looking for a bag (currently I use a shoe bag which is a bit big).

Any suggestions?

u/knots25 · 1 pointr/medicine

I used the this MDF one.

u/Iron_Yuppie · 1 pointr/keto

That may be part of the problem - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DCV9S6/ref=oh_details_o09_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've ordered some ketostix, but with this, I dip (briefly) and I get almost no response.

u/brodsta · 1 pointr/ems

Got the bell engraved by the shop I bought it from, also has a tag attached (Like these).

u/audreyality · -2 pointsr/keto

You can see if you're running on ketones with these strips called Ketostix. You can find them in drug stores too.
