Full disclosure: A bit of color matching was done on this photo. The watch is a cheapo I got to test drive the whole wood watch thing with plans to upgrade if I dig the look. I do not. I used to have a silver Sig P238 with rosewood grips that would have been sexy here, but I didn't dig that either. I do dig the Benchmade a great deal. The surefire is ok.

> Really the only think I can think of is the 2 round holder, is that super important?

Handy to have, but don't fret if you can't get one.

> I would like to get one of those nice books that zips up. What combo do you guys recommend for range trips and tracking competitions?

Tactical Notebook + Combat Pen

> On my dope card, should I have a piece of paper ready for each stage, or just at the various distances?

Targets/Distances could change, you'll have time to write out a card so don't worry. I just use a quarterback wrist coach and a roll of painters tape + a sharpie. If I'm going dial instead of holding in the reticle then I'll jot down the elevation for each target in sequence; "T1 - 4.6, T2 6.2". Peel the tape off when the stage is over and stick a new one on, Easy-Peasy.

I am not sure if it meets the technical definition for gas-lighting.

But, let me state my assumptions, and advice below. Keep in mind I do not know you and my assumptions might be way off. But I hope it helps.

It does seem like your hope is that he invalidates you to make you feel better. This may simply be a communication style that you learned growing up. Maybe you are used to being invalidated and this is the best way you know to get love.

But, at it's core it's a narcissistic style of communicating. Because you are not a narcissist and you have a great deal of empathy it makes you feel uncomfortable. It also makes you feel uncomfortable because you don't want to cause your boyfriend discomfort or despair. But you haven't necessarily learnt or practice better ways to get the reassurance you need.

So now you're fucked. You need reassurance (like everyone else), but the only way know how is kind of shitty.

My solution:

Don't be so hard on yourself!!

--- wait?? what??

No- no- hear me out... You are on a journey to be a more compassionate, self assured better you. Even though hearing reassurance all the time is super important, as you grow won't always need to be reassured all the time. You're insecurities will improve over time....

--- okay, but how does that make me feel better??

Recognize that in your journey to learn better ways to interact you won't be perfect, rebuilding yourself will take time.

--- Okay.. But how do I get the reassurance I need for now??

Find a healthy and sustainable way to rebuild your sense of self so you can start to see yourself the way your boyfriend sees you.

--- Sure, but how do I do that??

Here's what worked for me, get a small notebook and everytime your BF says something nice about you write it down.

If he says the same thing multiple times put a start for everytime he says something nice. And keep that book on you. here's the one I use.

Remember, changing yourself takes time. Be patient and kind to yourself always!

If you are coming from a 15” screen I think you will find the 10.5” positively tiny. It’s about half the size. The 10.5” can’t really do split screen except maybe if one of the windows is very narrow like a chat window. Certainly not textbook + notetaking.

The 12.9” iPad is a bit big to hold in your hands, but if you are using it with a keyboard, flat on a desk, or in an “easel” position (e.g. with the Smart Cover) it is fine. It’s about the size of a folio notebook.

i'm a notebook gremlin that hoards unique but cheap notebooks, and doesn't really look for anything in particular (although i do prefer an A5-ish size). I don't have a dotted notebook yet, but that's what i'm looking for next.

the exception to the cheap rule is the field notes coastal series on my wishlist, and my thought process when i saw it was 'hhhhghghg shiiiny colors'.

Look at it for a second from the other way around. Anxiety leads up to anger.

Anger is often called a secondary emotion. It gets built up like a reservoir of gasoline by anxiety, frustration and fear about your situation. And when the appropriate trigger comes up the anger blows up like a match to a can of fuel that was already sitting there.

> "the desire to punish" and "rage"

These are efforts to restore control over what is happening in your life. These feelings can be managed by improving communication and using positive assertiveness. If you're having difficulty at work check out Difficult Conversations.

Something you can do now is try this free Anger Management Workbook. Don't even need to print it out. Just grab a pen and paper and get to work. It is very concise and quick to work through and find helpful techniques. You can take the notes with you the next time you see your therapist to help stay on topic for what's really problematic right now.

Generally speaking it's a good idea to keep a journal of your therapy visits. You can write down things that come up that you want to remember to talk about and work through. You can do it on your phone's notebook app or use Google Docs app. Field Notes are nice and small if you want a hard copy to carry around.

Also check out books like [Anger Management for Dummies](https://hmt.es/Anger Management For Dummies.pdf), When Anger Hurts or other books at your local library. Totally free to get a library card.

Good for you for getting help! Sometimes we just need to learn a few better techniques for dealing with our family and life's challenges. Good luck!

Graph Composition Notebook - the paper is quite thin and not very good quality. If you use pencil, try not to erase too much. But for that price, you're not getting the best paper.

Mead Cambridge is a decent brand, they have graph paper pads and some spiral notebooks.

Field Notes also has a 5x8" graph notebook.

I find that a field notes (or other identical sized notebooks, I carry off brand ones because they're $2/piece rather than $7/piece) and a pen fit perfectly together in my back jeans pocket. As far as I can tell, the knock-offs are the EXACT same product with different labeling. I also reinforced the spine with a strip of gorilla tape because the spines tend to get worn out after you've carried the notebook for a month or two with no reinforcement.

To take this one step further you jot down the number (19) and then the Initial (J - John Smith), sometimes you will have to use 2 letters. I have very small notebooks just for combat (Mini Notebook) it fits everyone on a page and has enough space to play with monster health & spells. New fight, new page.

I have a similar setup I carry in my shirt pocket at work - small notepad, click sharpie, pressurized ink pen, penlight.

I recommend this notepad, it’s a very slim profile/low weight:

All of the following are in my kit.

  • Road flares, including the pack of electric road flares that you can put around your car
  • Car jumper
  • Hi--vis vest (for accidents on highway so when you go to help someone you won't get run over by another driver)
  • Metal tweezers in your first aid kit
  • Water (2 liters), food (stuff that can be rotated out in a year, I have jerky, protein cookies, & sardines)
  • Towel, wash cloth, blanket
  • Change of clothes, including shoes & belt
  • Cell phone recharger with different charger cables (make sure you have the correct micro cable if you have a non-iPhone phone
  • Knife
  • Another knife
  • Bic lighters, waterproof matches, rechargeable batteries
  • Zip ties, para cord,
  • $200 in cash
  • Empty gas can
  • Bike pump (we have one in each car and they always get used to keep our tires full)
  • Spare tire
  • Pepper spray
  • Rain tarp or pancho
  • Duct tape
  • Pen & paper, preferably waterproof paper
  • Tire pressure gauged
  • Knife Fork set
  • Gloves
  • Water filtration device (think about how you're going to use it. Do you want to lay on your belly and suck water through a straw? I sure as hell don't, which is why I got this one)
  • Sewing kit
  • Napkins
  • And a small back pack to put everything in so you can hike away from your car if needed.

Keep in mind that the emergency car kit isn't just for catastrophes; it's for every day things you need when you're not at home. I used several things in my kit for non-emergencies, like our Ka-Bar fork set when we had left overs and were out at the lake. It's to keep us civilized when we need a helping hand.

Maybe some of those tiny little notebooks that fit in your pocket? I use those to write down vitals and such without lugging a clipboard around.

Hair ties since she’ll have to have her hair up, or if she would like them, I really love spin pins because I can have my hair up all day and never get a headache like I do from a pony tail.

Also don’t forget lunchbox stuff could be useful too because hospital cafeteria food is disgusting and generally not very healthy. Like maybe some glass Tupperware , a lunchbox, or a water bottle/cup.

Also if your friend is like me and likes to wear makeup, she will want a lipstick that won’t quit! This stuff stays on through my 12 hour shifts and I just love it!

Really depends on how much you want to spend, but I find that that these are the things that really got me through clinicals.
