I had a late Christmas with my in-laws! They wound up sending us home with several gift cards (including one to starbucks), lots of homemade cookies, and a HUGE tub of homemade hot cocoa mix. I'm spoiled with sweets. @-@

I also used my Christmas money towards my dream black boots. Which I an -very- excited about.

Also, I am really sad that it's warming up again already. I really want to wear my new sweater! In the meantime, though, it's tine to go poke around websites and decide what to use my giftcards on.

Sounds like Target, JCPenney, and Old Navy will be your friends, along with Amazon.

Ok. So you're looking for footwear. I'd recommend something like these ones from JCPenney. These ones are also good, though if you like this style then consider Clark's Bushacre II. Any thoughts on these?

Note: I'm not sure what the quality is like anymore - last time I checked out info on JCPenney boots, I knew they had boots marked as made in India (MiI) or made in Bangladesh (MiB). Both are the same shape/model and price, but one of the two was remarkably better quality - I believe it was MiB that was better.

If you're looking for something more rugged, try some Golden Fox boots (you can look on Amazon for other styles). These are a pretty good quality for just around your budget.

Next, you're looking for jacket/coats/vests. First: look for some inspiration. Here are three good albums: one, two, three. Focus on the coats, and see which styles you like more. If you see a style you like, comment below and I can help you find a specific model or store/brand to try. For purchasing - do you have a Target nearby? Right now they have heavier coats, probably starting to go into discount, but they'll fit into your budget. Ooh, also Gap would probably fit this budget nicely.

For jeans, Target, JCPenney, or Old Navy (or even American Eagle - their jeans are good) would work. What brand do you currently wear? Maybe you can try an athletic fit (generally is looser in the thighs but tapers down so it's not loose) or a straight fit. You could also consider chinos (in navy or olive).

I've never understood the bias against good men's boots by Ugg or Frye, companies that have been more associated with women's boots. But those do look like middle-school girls' boots. Maybe you can swap for some other cold-weather boots (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RM5P6BY/ref=twister_B00Z0NSVV2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) or for better looking boots (https://www.amazon.com/UGG-Australia-Mens-Cavitt-Boot/dp/B01LXU9O9S/ref=pd_sbs_309_10?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01LXU9O9S&pd_rd_r=8CZTA5RQMRXPE6625XRF&pd_rd_w=98PW3&pd_rd_wg=yTl0j&psc=1&refRID=8CZTA5RQMRXPE6625XRF).

I love these Ferro Aldo bois. And they're only $40.

Haven't gotten presents from my GF yet, which may or may not be clothes. But I have been buying presents for myself all month;
Palladium boots

Alpha Industries N-2b Parka

Retrosuperfuture Tuttolente's in ivory

and a genuine Russian telnyashka
(I got a black striped long sleeve one)

I think that's about it for me. I also got a couple souvenir jackets for my girl, a cheap amazon one and then a much nicer one off japanloverme-store.com. Man I hope one of them fits her.

Wow, all the boots from this seller seem to have Nazi imagery on the soles. These have little iron crosses.

Hey--sorry if I misunderstood the question!

So I fucking love shoes, but my #1 piece of advice is to be RUTHLESS in your selection process. Never buy a pair you don't absolutely love, and never pay full price unless you absolutely have to.

With that out of the way, my #1 boot recommendation is Frye. The quality is excellent, and the price is reasonable, especially if you can find a sale. I usually check 6pm and amazon first. I have two pairs of Frye lace ups and it kills me to have to put them away for the summer. Timberland also makes some nice casual styles, but you have to dig for them and be prepared to walk away with nothing most of the time. When you do find a pair you like, though, Timbs will last forever.

As far as something along the lines of converse, check out Toms. They have great spring/summer styles, and they are super affordable.

There's also Sperry, but those are a specific look. I'm from the northeast, though, so the government issued me a pair of boat shoes at birth that I am required to wear at least a few times every summer. They do make some canvas-upper casual shoes, but for me it's usually hard to find a style I like--those brown preppy dock shoes are what they do best.

Also--I am posting from my mobile, but will try to remember to add links for you later.

Toms Black Chukka (Not what I usually look for from Toms, but liked them too much not to link)

hey sorry but after a long analyse of the video and the video of behind the scene i.ve found exactly the ride boots:) 100% certainty.

Nike brought boots out a few years ago an those he's wearing are the Nike sfb gen.1 special field boots.

the only negative thing is that nike isn't making any of those anymore, but you can get them on amazom.

I got those 2 years ago and they are so good :).

Fairly new to the world of fashion. I've been building my wardrobe since I discovered this sub. The only thing left is boots. Two hours reading guides and I'm back where I started. I just wanna buy something.

Are the Golden Fox 6" Boondocker Service Boot Pro a good option for first pair of boots for someone? I mainly wear chinos/dark jeans with henleys/button down shirts.

Been thinking about buying these, can't justify spending a lot more.

Also been looking at UO Chelseas in tan suede.

How does everyone feel about Harley Davidson's boots, specifically this model:

https://www.amazon.com/Harley-Davidson-Classic-Engineer-Motorcycle-D96101/dp/B01H43H69I/

It has everything I want in terms of style, it can re-soled down the line, and it's not too expensive. As long as the quality is good, I'll buy a couple pairs to rotate as my new everyday boots.

Hi All,
Bought a pair of Doc Marts off amazon the other day and wasn't sure if it was legit. Especially when it came to the sole. The sole is off center in the photos but that was a product defect.
My question is: is the insole supposed to cut off at the toes? Also are the soles supposed to be glued to the base?

Does Golden Fox Sell these boots in brown in size 12M? It seems like it only goes up to size 11 both on amazon and their website.

u/Flacvest · 1 pointr/motorcycle

That first one looks good. CE1 certified, has hard parts around ankles, and made of microfiber, which is like leather but doesn't require any maintenance like leather. If they have a soft, padded shin that's ok; if the shin part is hard or has plastic bits that's even better.

Cross-read the reviews here and see what people say. They look pretty good for 180 bucks.
