You can totally buy the AC adapter first-party: http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-3DS-AC-Adapter/dp/B00L59D9HG/ref=pd_sim_vg_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=0G199HEY83WPF1K3XFYN

I get why they aren't including it (to save $10 off the initial price,) and as someone with 3 adapters laying around already, I don't really need another one. But I totally get the frustration too.

First of you need a power bank with a 3ds cable

Bring a backpack with water and some snacks and pack a lunch you may have an event that will cut lunch break so be prepared.

Cash wise bring $50 if you want to play in other side events. I'd recommend doing the main event and if your placement is lacking its totally ok to drop and try out all the other things . You will need to buy vouchers for events so you will probably be spending 30$ alone with that. Do you want merch? Bring more if you looking for gifts or you like tcg!!

Meet people! I met awesome friends from canada and we still talk all the time!

Dont forget to bring pen and paper and save the pokemon card the hand out and use it as a touchpad shield to prevent screen peeking. You slip the card between the gap on your ds and it props up 45°

Have fun!

[edit] in addition update your ds fully there is no guarantee you will have wifi access. And be very a curate on your teamsheet.

Powerbanks are the way to go. I don't like making the hardware of the 3ds fatter with bolting on an extended battery. Powerbanks are cheaper and multi-purpose with phones and other electronics. I have a 10000mAh powerbank (think I spend under $30) - which is like 3-4 full charges of my phone and probably double for a 3DS.

I recommend spending a little more for a threaded usb cable. They simply last much longer than a generic, cheaper cable.

EDIT: I've been using it for 2 years on a 3ds with no battery swelling problems. Batteries just go bad over time, so that probably would have happened to the phone even without a powerbank. And if you have to replace the internal 3ds battery, it's cheap at under $15.

Prime Now has it, if you have Amazon Prime.

Buying an IR thermometer (this one, which cost about a quarter of the one you linked, not sure why) was one of the best investments I've made in kitchen equipment, and not just for frying. The best of all the many uses is to check the temperature of food you're going to put in the fridge or freezer to make sure it's low enough.

Also good for checking the temperature of your fridge and freezer.

In addition, they're cool toys. Want to know the temperature of your curtains, your bath water, your cat? Point and click.

yes my current charger is off brand, and only used it about 5 times. i just ordered this one which seems to be official but not entirely sure

I am writing this as someone who attended a good workshop rather than a person with any experience running one. Big things are firstly about being friendly and approachable. You may have some people who have lots of experience, some experience, and also people with zero experience making candles.

Secondly, when it comes to logistics, use a Slow Cooker (That's what we call them in the UK, not sure about anywhere else) and have all the wax melted and ready before the class. It doesn't require an expensive one, just a clean one. Also buy a ladle to distribute the wax. You can then distribute the wax when you need to. I would suggest you do this yourself, as if anyone else burns themselves with hot wax, I imagine it won't go down well no matter who is at fault.

Another thing that will help is a digital thermometer. Easy to use, often has several unit settings and people in your class can use them one between two.

Lastly, have some Silicone Moulds for excess wax, then people can share them and take them home and it means there's no waste.

Have anything like containers and whatnot already ready beforehand, and make sure people bring aprons (Maybe have some spare yourself).

Lastly, depending on how long the class is, don't be afraid to give them a break. I imagine not all 16 customers will know each other, so have a break with some food and drink can often work wonders.

Hope this helps!

Nope, no charger is included. That said, you can use any charger in the DS family all the way down to DSi. If you don't have an old one lying around, you can pick one up on Amazon right now for $8.99. It's the "official" charger too! Here's a helpful link: 3DS Wall Charger

I got the hard case so I can carry it in my purse without having to worry about scratches and it'll hold a few games, stylus, AR cards and cable cord. Only complaint I've seen on videos is there's like a 1/2" wiggle room side to side, but don't think it'll beat up too much in my purse, or can modify it with a little strip of sponge/cushion.

I also got a case for 24 games because I don't like sorting through each game box, and a lot of used stuff I got from Game Stop came in a paper sleeve.

I got an extra power cord so I don't have to keep unplugging it from room to room, but would definitely recommend a USB cable, I'm probably going to get one of those as well, but was sold out when I went looking last week.

I'm sure you can price shop - but that's what I picked up as a new 3DS XL owner!

Edit: OH!! Definitely get a top and bottom screen protector - I got the Invisible Shield or whatnot from Best Buy while I was there, I didn't want my pretty new screen scratched from all the tap tap tapping.

u/jakpuch · 3 pointsr/3DS

Be careful, the US adapter is 110v and you're putting 220v in it in Europe.

That converter is just letting it fit in the eu outlet and not converting voltage.

Either buy an eu 3ds charger or one of these.

u/GambitsEnd · 2 pointsr/3DS

I'm confused as to how finding an adapter is hard.

Although, TBH, for $14, it seems worth the risk, if it's covered by Amazon's return policy. Keep us posted!

Don't forget the charger.

u/TheDidact118 · 2 pointsr/3DSdeals

Does anyone know where I can get a charger from? This doesn't seem to come with one but on the Amazon listing for one from Nintendo people are saying it doesn't come in the original packaging and is a knock-off.

u/CarlosSRD · 2 pointsr/3DS

Hi I recommend this ones.
A friend of mine have been using them for around 8 months i got mines this month.

I linked the Thermoworks one just to show an example, not to necessarily buy that one. But I should've been clear about that.

I was all about the one you linked until I saw its ReviewMeta score, spoiler its reviews failed. Glad it is working for you regardless.

u/smallredball · 2 pointsr/explainlikeimfive

That's a weird converter. Take it back and get a refund and... (here's the easy bit) ... just buy a French power supply for your 3DS. Then it will work directly without a converter.

I'm in England so here's a UK one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-Power-Adapter-3DS/dp/B008DS4Y3K - and I bet Amazon.fr has the exact same with a French plug.

Longer answer: a step-down transformer is the correct type that would work with all devices. They are typically big and bulky because most people use them for bigger pieces of equipment than the 3DS. Lots of French guys with vintage Fender guitar amplifiers use them to do the voltage conversion. If France has an equiavelent store to the Maplin - http://www.maplin.co.uk/ - we have in the UK, you would get one there. But ignore all that and do what I said above.

And enjoy France - it's great. One of my favourite Eurocities.

I traded my 1st gen 3DS + charger for a new 3DS XL some time ago. I got one of these USB to 3DS cables in place of the charger: https://www.amazon.com/6amLifestyle-Speed-Premium-Charger-Charging-Nintendo/dp/B01JG2LGUA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487753781&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=3DS+usb&psc=1

I always have some USB power source handy so this is actually more convenient than hauling a dedicated charger around.

Was debating getting a 2XL or a refurbished N3XL for me and my sister but found a new N3XL for $175 on Amazon. $50 more than getting two 2XLs but, brand new, 3d feature is there if needed, better speakers, and longer battery life (several reviews have mentioned 2XL has shorter battery life).

So, I'm on the hunt for some accessories and was wondering if ya'll could help me pick some out.

Charger Will need 2 of these.

  • Is there a difference in charging times between the wall charger and usb chargers?
  • Difference between charge times using usb chargers when plugged into usb wall charger and PC? Would one charge faster than the other?
  • In one of the reviews for the Yuyikes USB charger, someone asked about the difference between it and cheaper usb cables. Someone replied that the cheaper ones only charge while the DS is asleep/off while it can charge while playing. Is this true?
  • Using a USB cable, can you transfer things back and forth between a PC and the DS? Be it the system it self or a microSD card?

    Charger | Price
    ---|---
    Wall Charger | $8
    HDE 3 Pack USB | $8
    HDE 2 Pack USB | $5
    Yuyikes USB | $8

Screen Protector Will need 2 of these.

  • Does the system close properly with screen protectors installed on the top and bottom screen?
  • I ask because someone people have mentioned their N2dsXL having a tiny gap with screen protectors.
  • If you use one, which do you use personally?

    Brand | Price | # of Pairs | # of Reviews | Avg Score
    ---|---|----|----|----
    Hori | $9 | 1 | 1758 | 4.5
    iLLumiShield | $7 | 3 | 49 | 4.5
    Akwox | $7 | 2 | 125 | 4
    Dmax Armor | $6 | 3 | 65 | 4.5
    iLLumiShield | $10 | 2 | 49 | 4.5

It's this one: Link

u/Bacon_n_Lettuce · 1 pointr/pokemon

The game will be $40, which is the standard price for 3DS games.

The charger is only $8 on Amazon (link here), and should be about the same in stores, give or take.

As for the 3DS itself, there are 3 models currently available. The New 3DS XL is bigger and has larger screens, and goes for $200. The New 3DS (not XL) is the same but slightly smaller, and will be available for $100 on Black Friday. The 2DS does not display games in 3D, but it can play all 3DS games and is the cheapest option at $80.

Hopefully that helps!

I hope you'll be okay at your new job. At least I think you will. Two of my friends were managers of two different hotels and they both enjoyed it, the pay also wasn't bad. If you ever need someone to vent to feel free to PM me.

I found a couple of things you might like for your new job. Here's some DS games (Im assuming you have one because I saw them on your wish list) super Mario brothers 2 , art academy , the Nintendo essentials pack , and a wall adapter. If you don't want any of those you'll probably need one of these and for lunch one of these.

If I win then this please

u/_____ONSLAUGHT_____ · 1 pointr/3DS

nope, cant. if you dont already have a 3DS, just buy a charger from amazon

u/NerdOnTheNet · 1 pointr/3DS

I feel with all this unnecessary outrage about not coming with a charger is proof enough that the message got relayed properly... I'm totally fine with no charger because A) We're not the first country, if not the last country to be getting a DS system without a charger C) the cost would pretty much be the same if not more because they would raise the price of the product to make up for having a charger in the package and ) the company is right, I currently own the 3DS XL and therefore already own a charger. So ya...if you're really worried about a charger, just buy one... You have until next month... I really haven't seen a very good reason to get so upset.

edit: in fact, I just looked on amazon and I could get a charger within 7-13 days right now for $4.28. Boom, money is saved. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004TTNTYW/ref=olp_tab_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

Can you order online? If so, Amazon carries it

u/zoogie_gba · 1 pointr/3DS

Here's the link https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-AC-Adapter-Nintendo-3DS-2DS/dp/B01MDQP1ZU

It would be nice to know if this has the correct voltage (4.6V) and amperage (900mA). Other chargers don't have this voltage (usually 5V instead) and that causes a great deal of concern for me.

My personal advice is to always stick with 1st party for power chargers - it's too important. A bad power supply is not something to trifle with. Besides, the official charger can actually be had for around the same price used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00L59D9HG/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all

u/No_Nuts · 1 pointr/3DS

Just buy a new original one while you can still get one. They're not very expensive
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-3DS-Compatible-XL-2DS-Adapter/dp/B00L59D9HG?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_2

u/Me4aRZ · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Best advice is to go to a local Target or Walmart (not Amazon unless you have Prime) and buy the Official 3DS Charger because it's only 8.99

GameStop won't take a 3DS without a charger regardless of the fact that the n3DS is sold without one and they will then see if you want to buy a Pre-Owned charger or their (GameStop branded) $15 charger.

u/poopfeastx420x · 1 pointr/3DS

I asked them, yes you do need to bring in the charger.

So this is my plan.

1- Buy knock-off charger for $5

http://www.amazon.com/HDE-Power-Adapter-Charger-Nintendo-3DS/dp/B004TTNTYW/

2- Give $5 knock-off charger to GameStop when trading.

3- Keep original nintendo charger for your new 3ds xl

u/lemonphantom · 1 pointr/3DSdeals
u/QuarksnShit · 0 pointsr/gaming

I can understand all the confusion about the charger not being included but you can buy them off of amazon here and here for less than $5. Or if you wanted one brand new you could buy one for $10 from nintendo's website

In my opinion, it's not really that big of deal. Its more of a convenience for those who already have the charger.
