Based on many positive reviews on the GM-Volt forum, I just picked up the Pirelli CintuRato P7 for $110 each on Amazon. TireRack gave the tire a great review (performs better than the Michelin MXV4 in most tests) and other Volt owners have been happy with the performance. I wanted a tire that had similar low rolling resistance to the stock Goodyears but also had good rain performance. The Pirellis seem to fit the bill, plus cost less than the other tires I was considering.

This is a conversation I didn't know I needed to have today. Do you know a good deal about tires?

I have a Dodge Dart Limited that needs new tires, according to this website my tire size is 225/45R17. I was looking at this tire on Amazon because it's got good reviews and a stupid good price.

Is that more or less the process one would follow if they were going to buy online instead of going into the store and allowing the guy behind the counter to bend them over? Also, I don't know a lot about tires... is it important to get a good brand name?

Nothing wrong with being a broke college student. We've all been there. The only issue is that there are some shops that will refuse to "stretch" a tire or install a tire that's outside what the OEM recommends.

Take a look at the following, https://smile.amazon.com/Milestar-MS932-Sport-Season-Radial/dp/B00AOJN27U

You'll have no real issues with 225's other than the contact patch width being narrower.

I think you will have a very hard time beating Yokohama 185/60R15 AVID Ascend;

I use the R16s on my 2015 EX, great miles, great MPG, good grip, quiet and good ride. Like all tires on the Fit, the rear tend to develop a cupping pattern of wear because of the camber and toe angle - and can start humming if it gets bad enough. However, if you rotate the tires every 5,000 miles or so, they do not do that, and they have really long wear. Those R15s should go over 65,000 miles, if not higher if you take care of them.

I replaced the OEM tires on my 2015 at 27K miles and went to the Yokohama, I haven't looked back since, and we are over 160K miles now.

Afternoon everyone,

I have two things:

New for 75 on the link above and I'll sell for 30 each since I cannot provide a warranty or give free rotations or anything.
They ride smooth! 205/65R16 94T. You can go get a wheel to mount one on and have a full size spare for rather cheap.

  • I just recently bought a house and am looking for someone who may want to rent a room starting around August or September. I am currently putting down wood floors and modernizing the house. 3 bed 2 bath house with 1,800 square feet located within biking distance of Plaza Midwood and Noda (by Aldersgate). I am not a stickler and could care less about what personal things you do as long as you don't endanger / destroy my property. I'm big into board games, outdoor activities, and hands on projects. Was thinking $450 a month including utilities.

  1. Kitchen Aid mixer. [this] (http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-Artisan-5-Quart-Stand-Espresso/dp/B005BHGSZI/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=19BQLIXA8TU1K&coliid=I2SD8W6AD0397I) one. Or I guess if I got all 4 [tires] (http://www.amazon.com/Hankook-Optimo-H727-All-Season-Tire/dp/B004QL6B7A/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=19BQLIXA8TU1K&coliid=I35U6RKOTN2E1U) that would be it.

  2. I LOOOOOOOVVE TO COOK (love love it!) (like... want to marry it) And I need the new tires for obvious reasons but again, since it's only the most expensive when I buy all 4, I don't think it counts.

  3. Yes and then no.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (now that song is stuck in my brain... teehee)

IIRC Continental make some good performance all season RFTs, they are repairable, soft and quiet and don't cost an arm and leg.

EDIT: I think these are pretty decent :http://www.amazon.com/Continental-ContiProContact-Run-Flat-All-Season-Tire/dp/B004QGZN6U

I have a 2012 Ford Fusion with all season tires

Are you sure about that? Would these not work?.

I went with the X-ice 3's, very solid price, top performer especially on ice, longevity on pavement, and they are super quiet. I don't anticipate a lot of deep snow driving which is where the Blizzak WS 80 or Hakka R2 (which is nearly the same tread as the Altimax) would have a slight advantage.

Looks like Hankook Optimo is on amazon too for $45, but I wonder if Discount Tire will install for cheaper than Amazons $50 install
