Ketchup flavored Lay's (there's most definitely other brands) and KD is Kraft Dinner, other wise known as good 'ole Kraft Blue Box Mac and Cheese.

my favourite bit:
> Please know this product travelled over 10 thousand miles so the chips may be broken

I don't know if you can get them in Chicago but Zapp's Voodoo Heat. I'd eat them ever single day if there were no consequences in life.

>I mean...does it though?

No, actually it doesn't. In the first place, whatever American products you could expect to stock on the shelves of a foreign supermarket would have to shelf-stable, so fresh food is out of the question, and should be iconically American, so small, regional or otherwise niche products wouldn't really count. And, while some products do use corn syrup as an additive that probably shouldn't, it's unfair to criticize dessert products as being "different shapes of corn syrup" as they are supposed to be sweet and corn syrup is no less a reasonable sweetener to use than cane sugar, beet sugar or any other sugar. Some recipes have always used corn syrup long before the HFCS controversy ever came to light, anyway.

So what kind of shelf-stable, iconically American products could they stock that have no corn syrup?

How about Campbell's Chicken noodle soup?

https://www.campbellsfoodservice.com/product/campbells-classic-chicken-noodle/

Or even Campbell's tomato soup, which has sugar but not corn syrup?

https://www.campbellsfoodservice.com/product/campbells-classic-tomato/

How about Kraft Mac and Cheese which has no sweetener?

https://www.livestrong.com/article/87143-ingredients-kraft-mac-cheese/

It hardly gets more iconic than those two brands.

What about Lay's potato chips? No sugar or corn syrup.

https://www.amazon.com/Lays-Classic-Potato-Chips-Ounce/dp/B00ISYNK02

Hell, even Lay's BBQ potato chips use sugar not corn syrup -and BBQ sauce/flavor is supposed to be sweet to varying degrees.

https://melmagazine.com/en-us/story/whats-in-this-barbecue-flavored-potato-chips

Orville Redenbacher popcorn? No sugar or corn syrup.

https://www.amazon.com/Orville-Redenbachers-Butter-Popcorn-Classic/dp/B000HD7N7I

Cheerios has one gram of sugar per cup (28 cl), which is hardly oversweet and still not corn syrup.

Peter Pan creamy peanut butter. Yep it's got sugar. No, it's not corn syrup.

https://www.instacart.com/wegmans/products/74884-peter-pan-creamy-peanut-butter-16-3-oz

Moving to the freezer/refrigerator section:

Nathan's famous hot dogs? No sugar.

https://www.instacart.com/safeway/products/73393-nathan-s-famous-skinless-beef-franks-8-ct-14-0-oz

Ore ida tater tots? Half a gram of added sugar in an 86 gram serving of 9 tots and no corn syrup -and anyone who tells you they can taste 1/18th of a gram of sugar in any single tater tot is delusional.

https://www.fooducate.com/product/Ore-Ida-Tater-Tots/CCB3C592-E105-11DF-A102-FEFD45A4D471

And since I'm from the south let me add one more: Grits. No sugar.

Stocking only overly sweetened corn syrup products from America may be what the German public wants out of American food, but it certainly isn't particularly representative of iconic American food.

You don't need to remember the old days to re-live this experience. Fat free Pringles are still available: http://www.amazon.com/Pringles-Original-Super-Stack-Ounce/dp/B00C3YADR6/

Mango Salsa Wavy Lays.I can only find them on amazon. On second look, it's actually $20 but I'd have to commit to four bags, and I have no self control for these things.

u/Backstop · 2 pointsr/AskReddit

But if it was something like what the OP wants, human kibble, they would have to make flavors of it. Like the way they have potato chips that taste like everything from BBQ to haggis.

u/jordood · 2 pointsr/TwinCities

How about some lesser known mom-and-pop spicy chips?

Mama Zuma's Revenge Habanero Potato Chips

Zapp's Spicy Cajun Crawtator

Zapp's Voodoo Heat

And there are still Flamin' Hot Ruffles out there as well.

There's also the international chip market to be explored!

From Japan, Calbee Hot and Spicy and Karamucho's Hot Chili.

From Korea, Samyang Zzaldduck.

From the Phillipines, Boy Bawang Cornick Hot Garlic.

From Mexico, Takis, of course - but don't forget about Totis!

And from Great Britain, Mega Monster Munch Flamin Hot.

Spicy chips are out there waiting to be tried - maybe one of them will be your new go-to!

u/The_Livewire · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I find it really hard to go wrong with Cheddar and Sour Cream

Also the Spicy Craw-tator chips are just amazing if you've never tried them do so!

Oh man. If you hate Save-On's, you'd REALLY hate Urban Fare. It's a sister company found exclusively in Vancouver that caters to the yuppie downtown crowd with an "image is everything" mentality. It was also the first place I'd ever been that sold fresh made pizza by weight ($2.19/100g) They also sell a lot of novelty rich people items like birthday cake in a jar and haggis-flavored chips (which tasted a lot like cheap bologna instead.)

The location I used to work at was popular with celebrities. Bryan Cranston, Julianne Moore, and Steve Nash among others have been customers before.

In a cutscene where all of the phantom thieves are sitting around at the hideout, Yusuke's idle animation is him chowing down on these. I don't think that they look good, but if he enjoys them, I'll carry them for him!

u/halfmonty · 1 pointr/funny

fish and chips pot pie? Thai chicken curry pot pie!? Fucking delicious... I'm very jealous. Haven't had poutine so I have no idea what I'm missing there.

Edit: awwww yisss....

Amazon my friend.

u/twonicorn · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Not entering the contest, but good luck to everyone else. :)

I'm not a big fan of regular Twizzlers, but these are so, so good. Sweet, sour, chewy, and totally addictive.

As far as chips go, Salt & Vinegar are awesome. Doritos Tapatio are my absolute favorite, but make sure you like spicy hot foods.

You should also be able to find them at Walmart...you know what has to be done.

u/RockTheWall · 1 pointr/AskNYC

There are British food exporters that will sell them to you on Amazon for a cool $7/can.

Also, apparently Canada's into ketchup-flavored chips?

These are the best chips ever!

omnomnom

u/Dohmi · 1 pointr/gtaonline

Really? Checked that in Amazon, and now I want to get it ...

Old Dutch Ketchup Chips - 220g Box https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D5C6PFY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_XE2-AbBEP9TM9

Price good for this chips?

u/glanmiregirl · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

The ultimate Canadian Snack food would have to be ketchup chips - These are too expensive though - If you've never had them PM me your address and I'll mail you out a bag. They would be light so I'm sure shipping wouldn't be too bad.

Also Kraft Dinner

u/DandalfDaWhite · 1 pointr/h3h3productions

My housemate got them for me, from Amazon

u/DrAwesomeClaws · -4 pointsr/news

You can buy 2lbs of premium brand toothpaste on amazon for less than $8.

You couldn't even buy bags of potato chips 150 years ago, enjoying them would theoretically take hours of work if you were even lucky enough to be able to spend the time and resources to make them. Now I can walk less than a mile and find multiple 24 hours merchants willing to sell me any type of potato chips i could ever imagine. Or I can order in bulk online and have it delivered to my door tomorrow.

A minimum wage earner in most places can buy more than 16,000 calories of potato chips with less than a half days work.
