I drink these mostly. It has the caffeine and the sweetness to satisfy my mid day urges without the crazy amounts of sugar.

Warning: Its got aspartame if you are one of those aspartame hating hippies.

Powdered apple cider mix. Like this : https://www.amazon.com/Alpine-Spiced-Cider-Apple-Flavor/dp/B0016BS29S

But it's generally way cheaper than that.

I have a cup of coffee in the morning, and usually one in the afternoon. (exmormon) So I understand your pain. However, I supplement my caffeine levels with Crystal Light energy powders. Caffeine is ostensibly not against the word of wisdom. If you're set on quitting, don't do it cold turkey. These powders could help regulate your consumption or give it to you in less discrete bumps (they each contain maybe 1/3 the caffeine of a normal coffee.

Here are the powders: http://www.amazon.com/Crystal-Light-Energy-Strawberry-10-Count/dp/B001E52VJS

you can find them at any grocery store. Average cost is about $0.15-$0.30 per drink, which is way way better than any energy drink you can get (and on par with keurig cups, but obviously much more expensive than coffee or tea).

Just checked a more recent packet I have in an accessory kit I’m saving for when it gets colder out, and it’s marked Jianas Brothers Packaging Co. Not sure if it was them back then, but closest you’ll get now so I’d give them a call and try to order some over the phone. Or just try some commercial mixes and see if they’re close.

Eh, most people don't make it themselves, just buy a bottle. I imagine it's heated to steep the spices. That's how I've done it when I mulled my own. IMO this is one of the best spiced ciders available

Unfiltered apple juice is also called apple cider, even without spices. Here is an example of a bottle of that, which I recently bought. The top is squashed because the store apparently dropped the bottle, so I got it half price. I will probably ferment this unless I get lazy and just add the mulling spices and serve it hot.

Then there's sparkling cider, which is literally bubbly apple juice. It's delicious, crisp and refreshing, and traditional at holidays in my family.

If someone offers you cider in the US and there is no other context, the most likely thing they are talking about is hot, seasoned apple juice, often made from an instant powder packet (example) (which are mostly available in stores in the fall), however with all the options you can't necessarily be sure what you'll be handed if you don't clarify.
What you can be sure of is it will be non-alcoholic. You'll always see "hard cider" in the US to refer to the cider you're thinking of.

For my after-dinner snack, I generally want something sweet (dessert! woo!), and I've been having fun making fast and easy "pudding" (for lack of a better word). I started off using only Greenmax Purple Yam & Black Soybean Powder, mixed with juuust enough water to turn it into a smooth, pudding-ish texture. It tastes like freakin' cake batter, but the numbers are very reasonable.

Greenmax is pretty awesome on its own, but as I've started needing more calories, I've been adding in various of the following -- again, adding only just enough liquid (water or soymilk) to turn it into a pudding, since I'm not going for a smoothie here:

  • Protein powder (chocolate or vanilla flavors go great with the Greenmax's cake batter flavor)
  • Cocoa powder
  • Chia seeds
  • Blueberries (frozen work best, IMO -- mix 'em right in without thawing first and the result turns out like ice cream)
  • Tahini (lot of calories here; use wisely)
  • Coconut oil (only if MFP shows me I've got a lot of calories & fat left for the day)

So yeah: In a soup or cereal bowl, add in any of the above that sound good, plus just enough liquid, and then stir, stir, stir... then eat! It's quick to make, delicious (to me, and to my SO who has quite the discerning sweet tooth), no heat required, and easy to customize to adjust the numbers in whichever direction you need.

What power? The only thing extraordinary about the AR-15 is its low price and being available at every gun store. .223 is an intermediate cartridge. More powerful than a handgun (as just about any long-gun will be) but far from being the most powerful Rifle caliber. For hunting large game .223 isn't considered powerful enough to humanely take the animal (or safely in some cases).

So you ban the AR-15. Okay then, what happens when the next mass-murderer decides to call in a bomb threat at a school laying in wait outside with a ghillie suit and a hunting rifle chambered in .300 WinMag?

People are too preoccupied with the tool when they should concern themselves with what makes a mass-murderer.

Black plastic and pistol grips do not make rifles any more deadly than they would be with wood furniture.

This would probably be a good time to mention that I have a 96 pack of Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonade as seen here on amazon if anybody wants any.

Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonade is the closest to the original Berry Blue still in production as opposed to today's widely distributed darker clear blue flavor.

I only mention because it isn't distributed very widely in the US these days.

Heyooo- I'm brewing some hard cider (2 gallons) and it's about ready to be bottled. Instead of adding brown sugar to help with carbonation, I'd like to add the apple cider packets that contain sugar and spices. Each packet contains 20g of sugar (ingredients seem ok). Is this a terrible idea? If not, how many packets should I add so I don't bottle bomb?

If all else fails

Edit: I always knew it as Ice Blue, but it appears they’ve dropped “ice.” Make sure it’s blue raspberry lemonade, not that blueberry horseshit. It’s a costly mistake.

Grain teas are good, more of a snack than a meal though.

Some of the most popular JP supermarkets to buy from are: Mitsuwa, Marukai, and Nijiya.

If you don't have those near you, try looking for a Chinese supermarket, like Ranch 99 or SF Supermarket.

If you truly must buy from Amazon, go for the concentrated stuff to dilute yourself: http://www.amazon.com/Calpico-Concentrated-Drink-15-9-Ounce-Pack/dp/B005LTIKUW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1453420717&sr=8-4&keywords=calpico

Cause otherwise, you're paying for shipping/weight for the individual serving cans/bottles. :(

I still like my diet soda. My consumption is way down though. I drink sugar free add ins for water mostly now. My tolerance for caffeine is way down now. I get jittery from a pretty small serving of coffee. Iced coffee is great. We have sugar free syrups and you can add heavy whipping cream. There are some coffee flavored add ins like MIO that might save some time. I found them passable. Link https://www.amazon.com/Liquid-Concentrate-Iced-Mocha-Java/dp/B01BNILZT2?th=1
