Modern anti evaporating gas cans spouts area pain. If you add an air vent you can empty the jugs in about 1/3 the time, and I guarantee this will be the cheapest solution.

as far as the fairings go, i'd say either keep an eye out on craigslist, or post some want-ads in forum classfieds. you can certainly jimmy together some headlights in the race fairing - which would be way cooler than stock, but could take up a big chunk of a saturday afternoon.

Why wouldn't you fix it up?? The only thing "wrong" with it is some minor tiny little scratches, and you need a new ignition tumbler.
