Did I say it was? It's an electric bicycle, which is not the same thing as Mobility Mary's mobility scooter or an electric scooter.

Hope that clears things up for you.

There is a horizontal mount for that engine type. The engine sits higher and usually require wider pedal cranks. I'm uncertain if it will fit in that frame....Engine Mount

>The adapter in your pic isn't the ones local to here? Wonder if the specs are the same.

It's probably super similar.

Here's a "real" Lime charger - https://limebike.myshopify.com/products/lime-s-power-supply-4-pack-new-gen - based on it's size, it can't be that powerful. A 10 amp power supply is physically bigger than that.

https://www.amazon.com/EVECS-Bird-Scooter-Charger-FY-4202000/dp/B07K1KPYFP is another that is for Lime and says it's 2 amp, so I think 2 amp is about right

Those little guys are not good. The concept is fine, but hub motors are a lot better.

Left hand drive is nice concept. There is a lot of advantages of LHD over hub or conventional bicycle middrives. I've only seen it on one commercial bicycle ebike though.

The concept is most commonly used with mid-drive gasoline conversions.

For example:

https://www.amazon.com/Disc-Brake-Adapter-Motorized-Bicycle/dp/B07BHY64ZS

That is a adapter that takes a normal 6 bolt disk brake and adapts it for a large chainring. If you get everything setup correctly you can even retain the use of your rear disk brake.

Here is a different style for non-disk brake bikes:

https://bicyclemotorworks.com/product/41-tooth-sprocket-mount-hardware-49cc-6680cc-motorized-bicycle/

That's a rubberized adapter that clamps to the spokes close to the hub. It sounds bad, but it actually works well. Used one in the past and it didn't cause any damage to the wheel.

The trouble is trying to find a place to put the motor.

We are looking at this one: https://www.amazon.com/Scooter-Inflation-Aluminium-Pneumatic-Electric/dp/B01CJ3Q572/

There are a lot of challenges in our way, but we are making progress. We will post updates as progress is made. First prototypes have been printed on a home printer, we will make some cost optimization and changes for shapeways printing.

I was originally going to try and find a more standard circular DC charge port but I heard those are not as good for high current. So I got the same 3 pin charge port as I originally had, except this one has a rubber charge port cover

On the topic of battery bank, you could save a few ounces by carrying two 18650 li-ion batteries (the same type likely inside your bank) at 3500mAh each, giving you 7000mAh total, then get one of these:

Having a bit of trouble ATM but did find this. Is it like this one?

u/swiftcock · 1 pointr/vandwellers

tl;dr: In my case I would ask myself one question. Would I pay $300 more to shave 40lb in my 7000lb van? No.

Too much wasted energy in conversions..

For example just to charge the batteries inside the Powerhouse, first the charge controller takes a piece of the pie, then the inverter takes another piece and finally the included inverter(what is used to charge it's batteries) in the Powerhouse takes another piece of the pie, and this is just to be able to charge the Powerhouse.

Now if you decide to use 120VAC socket from the Powerhouse, that takes another piece of the pie.

So in short you end up with a very inefficient set up. And AGM's are heavy but something comparable in terms of Ah to what you are suggesting weights 48lb vs 9lb of the anker, so it does make sense if you are hiking and you are presented with the choice of carrying 10lb vs 50lb, but in my 7000lb car van not so much, less so when you consider the price.

No complaints on this one! Quick charges, no noise and the light it gives out isn't terrible, but I covered it with electrical tape anyways

I just listed a parts kit on amazon if anybody needs one. It's prime.

Get one of these

https://www.amazon.com/GasBike-Arch-Idler-Pulley-Tensioner/dp/B014BZFAO0

It clamps to your rear forks and will not move around, You can make something similar for cheaper but if you would rather just buy something I'd recommend it. Make sure you shorten your chain to the right size, You want the least amount of slack as possible. A little bit of play is needed but you dont want a ton of slack and rely on the tensioner to hold it all up. I've seen guys who shorten their chains so much that that they dont even have a tensioner but ive never done that so I cant personally recommend it. And did you get a clamshell sprocket or did you get the stock one that clamps to the spokes? the stock one is an accident waiting to happen.

Man you know your stuff. Thank you again, big time. Can't stress enough how much I appreciate the help on here. Can't afford another scooter and I'd never figure this out on my own.

I think that the battery you linked would not be ideal. Lead acid batteries do not like putting out a lot of power for extended periods of time. For $300 including a charger I think you can get a cheap LIPO battery.

I don't know if the link below is any good. It claims to put out 2x as much power as the battery you linked.

You could build the battery you linked for less than $100 with parts from walmart.

You can try this.

I used it for one of my kits. You need to file down the grip slightly as it is a bit too wide for 1/144 kits, but it works fine.
