To add to this, to help keep shoes dry without using heat use shoe trees.

I bought those TB Nicholas Kirkwood flats that have been all over RL, but they were a bit too tight (I have Flintstone feet). I bought some shoe stretchers from Amazon, and after 24 hours they are now perfect! I usually wear an 8.5W or 9, and I got them in size 40.

They absorb moisture and also help keep a shoe/boot in shape.

Something like this:

It is for stretching out parts of a shoe that rub your toe, etc.

I also wear an 8.5 in Viberg and found these shoe trees in medium fit very nicely.

Trimly’s Chelsea Boot Trees are 20% off on Amazon for three days.

u/bmeng · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Yeah they are the HoundsBay Cedar Shoe trees which both expand on the toebox and the length of the shoe! They might be a bit too small for my shoes however.

I thought of another question!

How well do shoe stretchers like these work? Will they break in a new pair of shoes to make them more comfortable for you? Or make a size 6 fit more like a size 6.5?

What do you think about split toes vs. the twin-tube (i.e., Woodlore Epic) trees? Right now I have mostly split toes but am thinking of getting this 6-pack of twin-tubes from Amazon for $19/pair.

I'm looking to buy a bulk set of shoe trees. I'm a 9D but all of my boots are 8D or 8.5D. The sizing chart for the shoe trees says 8-8.5D small and 9D medium. Wondering from talks experience if trees tended to be before buying in your foot size or boot size.

Shoe trees I am looking at purchasing and sizing chart if you are interested

poking around amazon myself.. there are some dirt cheap plastic ones, but the cheapest cedar I'm finding on amazon are also below.

IKEA, plastic, $8.60/2 pairs

Songmics, cedar, $17.99/1 pair

Quick shopping.google search says you could get cedar ones $15/pair through Nordstrom, but doesn't include shipping. I'm super biased/spoiled with Amazon Prime, gah.

I have a bunion on my right foot and use this with the bunion button placed in the right area. Got one for shoes too. Two pairs of my boots and 4 pairs of shoes are much more comfortable for me now.

  1. Yep
  2. Nope. Go easy (1 or or 1 1/2 turn when it gets tight). Use shoe stretch spray (BTW, the IPA works good for shell water spots too). Leave for 12-24 hours. Better to go in 2-3 stages than one big stage if needed although probably just one needed for the tailor bunion. Pretty small right?
  3. Just use the stretcher. They work.

is this characteristic of orders for size 13 shoes?

EDIT: maybe buy size 12 shoes and buy a shoe stretcher? I picked one up on amazon link

This woodlore 2 pack of pairs go for ~$15/pair: https://www.amazon.com/Woodlore-Shoe-Trees-Men-Adjustable/dp/B0765B2FCQ/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=shoe+trees+woodlore&qid=1554693920&s=gateway&sr=8-5. Second the Jos. A Bank sales to get it lower, but that's like a few dollars cheaper (~$10/each?).

Ok. I initially did not think that you had a snowball's chance in hell at finding what you want, not in your price range and certainly not with your usage needs, but I went to Viberg's workboot.com and found this.

Viberg makes a killer, stout workboot and those are 75% off. It's an insane bargain. Buy two of them so that you can alternate between pairs during the week as this will greatly enhance the longevity of both pairs, and store the unused pair with cedar shoe trees when unworn.

There is no boot or shoe on this planet that can withstand the daily wear of 16+ hour days without breaking down prematurely. Without a chance to air and dry out, and allow the cedar shoe trees to wick away the moisture while preserving its shape, you are caught in the cycle of "falling apart within 4-6 months."

If you buy two pairs of those boots with a pair of shoe trees for each pair (You can get away with one pair of trees strictly for the unworn pair, but two will come in handy), and do not wear either pair two days in a row, you will be blown away by how much life you get out of them.

Viberg sizing can be tricky, so you will want to email them before buying to talk boot sizing before blindly ordering your size.

Good luck, and let me know if I can answer any questions.

Just buy regular shoe trees and then add something to preserve the shaft shape.

You can use something like this or this

u/TheObserverObserved · 1 pointr/goodyearwelt

I use these for my RMs, they work well. My size 41-42's don't fit in my Viberg 7's (to give you an idea) as they're too broad, but I don't know if they're EEE-wide!

u/The_New_Ent · 1 pointr/Sneakers

These are the ones I use. Of course i'd probably just buy one pair instead of two to start to see if you like them.

u/qandnotandy · 1 pointr/RedWingShoes

I use regular trees on all my boots, including a pair of Huntsman, which are a 10” boot. No problems at all.

I’m a fan of these. Two pair per order, $40. (I have no affiliation, FWIW)

Here's the Amazon listing for other shoe trees.

Looking at the type of tree Kory has developed, I'd say they are under priced given the level of quality I've seen come out of Taft.

I was actually going to [order these about a month ago]
(https://www.amazon.com/Cedar-Elements-Little-Wholesale-Program/dp/B00T6L1G7U/ref=sr_1_47?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1473995626&sr=1-47&nodeID=7141123011&keywords=shoe+trees)
but Kory made it known that he had trees on the way so I opted to wait. In the mean time I've since built up my collection of shoes in the last two months. I know own 4 pairs of Taft shoes (4th is on the way!)

How well do stretchers really work for width on boots (like this)? Have you ever tried it with shell cordovan?
