Right now, there are 16,232 pages that have been published by Terry Pratchett regarding Discworld (this also includes his book on death, and his book of short stories, and I am not sure what those topics are about). This does not include his yet published last book, The Shepard's Crown. He wrote 54 works, the majority of which were published in paperback sized books, which are roughly 6 and 3/4 inches tall, and 4 and 1/16 inches wide. Hogfather is 354 of written word, plus 14 pages pre or post story, and is roughly 1 inch thick. While not all his books are this size, the majority are, and this allows us to determine that you would have a book that was 44.12 inches thick, for a total volume of written word by Sir Terry Pratchett coming to 1,209.85 cubic inches. This is super rough, but I figured I'd give it a shot.

Edit: For reference, this is a link to a random item around that volume of 1200 cubic inches.

Editx2: The size of this could be considerably reduced by making the book taller and wider. After checking a paperback of Hogfather and a hardback of Snuff, both use 1/8 inch fonts, which is a 9pt font. Suff is also roughly 9.5 inches tall, 6.125 inches wide, and 1.5 inches thick. I would keep working on getting this to be more accurate, but I have to get back to more boring work. Snuff is also 380 pages long. The thickness does include the covers, so if hos works were bound into one book, you would save some inches off of the hardbacks not having all their covers, and would save inches from the paperbacks being heightened and widened. I would estimate it to be around 36 inches thick, but that is just me making up numbers at this point. I can say that the front and back cover are each 1/8th inch thick. The majority of his works were paperback, so you might only lose an inch by excluding the majority of the covers. The real size saving would come from the paperbacks being converted. Will work on this more later.

Editx3: Found a book thickness calculator, and based on 16,232 pages, it would be 31.703 inches thick. With 1/8th inch covers, the hard back would be just under 32 inches. This still isn't taking into account change in paper size from the paperback to the hardback, but I will cheat and just say that we would keep the text layout and page size and print it on the larger paper centered, to keep the overall flow of his books the same. Same number of page turns as before.

Nope! I wouldn't do that at all. My vet told me that it has to be pet bathing sand. The dyes in the colored sand or the grain of it may irritate their little hamster skin.

Here are a couple of links to sand options I found on Amazon:

I am actually fairly certain it was blood. There is what appears to be a wound on top of her nose. However, she doesn't like being handled too much, so I can't exactly get a good look at what is going on.

She is still running on her exercise wheel often, still eating, still playing, etc. so this isn't slowing her down.

I would say out of her and her sister, her sister probably prefers the exercise ball more than she does. I just unfortunately have an extremely large dog, so it is the safest option for them when I am cleaning their cage. He leaves them alone in the ball, I am afraid he would not if they were in a play pen. Their previous owner used a play pen, as noted by her on their surrender papers. I adopted them from an animal shelter a couple months ago.

Sticks, as much as you can put in it. Willow, aspen, birch, apple, are all fine but if you don't know google woods suitable for birds/hamsters. Wash well with soap and salt if you can, and hang up to dry. Once they are dry you can use them for a long time.

Coconuts are great.

Hay nests like this : https://www.amazon.de/Trixie-6108-Grasnest-f%C3%BCr-Hamster/dp/B0009586MU/ref=sr_1_36?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&keywords=trixie+hamster&qid=1571102738&sr=8-36

are very versatile. You can pierce them with sticks and place them very high in the enclosure. On the bedding level the mice will absolutely destroy it, very fast, won't last a month. High up they won't destroy it. They'll sleep in it. But destruction is fun so since it's so cheap maybe buy a few of them.

Willow balls are also their absolute favorite. You can make them yourself, but buying is so much easier. If you can craft with willow, your options are limitless. People make all kinds of stuff with it.

Hay. Giving them plenty of hay makes them busy. They love building nests and they love darting in to the hay. It's fun to look for eatable things from the hay too.

You can also collect and dry wild flowers and plants, which you know are non toxic for mice, but the season might be over with already.

Rocks, safe rocks are a different type of texture to study. It also uses their nails well. Note that with rocks you must place them directly to the bottom. You can also use a brick, for that look up what kind of bricks gerbil owners use.

And all the things other people already told you to get.

Haha, I feel you on this! I used to have the same problem with my Eve before we moved to a new room. Eve and Wall-E still do this on occasion, but they no longer dig on the bottom of the cage, and they started doing it other places (so long as they don't destroy the carpet, I don't mind). I got them these grass mats and it seems to help a lot. Perhaps you can line the floor with some.

Also, if she's very young or if she seems to not "get" regular litter, you can try something like this until she gets the idea. Some cats really want absorbancy (and are therefore tempted by laundry and such).

I use this stuff It works well, I change it every week and a half or whenever it starts to stink. :) Plus it's colorful!

Not sure what your budget is or what type of cage you have but I used these type of wire cubes to built a bigger home for my bun. For ideas on how to make a door/entrance take a look at this thread from a few weeks ago.

You can also try to put mats against the wires so he doesn't chew the wires and gets a snack instead. If he doesn't pay much attention to the mats you can try what I do at times, I get the treats (see link below) and rub it against the mats so it's more a more appetizing snack.

A few other suggestions when you move and have bigger space:

  • Tunnels - Options 1 - for this one just keep an eye on the hanging ball - my bun chewed right through the string to get rid of the ball but otherwise loves the tunnel, Option 2, Option 3

    Treats (recommended by her vet)

I also agree with a lot of the suggestions here, I have the Living World Teach treat toy and my bun just loves it, though doesn't care for other toys but lives for cardboard boxes. Hope this helps!

Cool, well if whatever you are using now doesn't help, this is what we use -> https://www.amazon.com/Living-World-Freshn-Bedding-20-Liter/dp/B0035HBGRG (not an affiliate link, and i don't work for the company...its just the best litter we found, better than that other cardboard one that often gets recommended, carefresh - its stinky also)

I think that it's really hard to choose for voting, but I think that you should gift four people.

don't go talking too loud you'll cause a landslide, Mr. Jones

I feel bad that I don't know what that's from, it must be from something.
