The mural is from Wall26 on Amazon(under $100) and its mounted on plywood boards from the hardware store. The mural has a sticky back that sticks to the boards. Then I rest the boards on the ground and nail them to the walls with very small nails.

Tv stands are just wood boards from hardware store (very poorly) nailed together and then spray painted. Bout 40 bucks for both tv stands.

Floor lamps are by Ikea those are like 25-30 a piece if I recall.

Bed in the album was made by taking king size bed slats sold on amazon, taking another set of large plywood laid over the slats, then laying vinyl flooring over that. About 100 usd in total supplies. Heres the slats:

Leaning shelf was from Target or Wal-Mart but its been about 10 yrs so idk. I know they came in set of 3 then thats about it.

The fireplace tables are by me - i just started it about a yr ago the one in the pic isnt available quite yet.

Im not a designer but I pick a color scheme, espresso brown and gray for me, and stick with it. start with that and design around it. Anything that isnt a heated surface can be spray painted especially cheap stuff and when nothing jumps out bc its a standout color from the scheme the whole space is the focus and nobody notices cheap or homemade items.

Apartments here mean i cant paint walls so covering lots of blank spaces cost effectively without over stuffing is a big consideration for me along with moving alot and ensuring the space isnt over customized to me.

NTA. she's manipulating you and her friends to get what she wants. here's what 300 gets you for a 3 seater. im sure she'd hate sitting on this and isn't what you had in mind for a sofa.

if she wants a 3 seater for 300, she should pony up in some way the extra money because you're already doing more than required by upping your budget. you can pay her 175 for the table and its now "your" table and she can get whatever sofa she wants.

overall, she's not trying to solve the problem. she's playing the victim.

I have one similar. As a sofa it is very comfortable, and does not look like a bed at all. To fold it down flat takes about 15 seconds.

Edit: Just measured mine. It is 190cm, so will easily fit across the short wall. Even enough space for a small 40cm cupboard next to it into which you can stuff your duvet, pillows and sheets.

Edit 2: I am in UK. Bought mine, in great condition, for £50 off Facebook Marketplace. That is far less than you would spend on wood.

1. he needs to clean that box 1 to 2 times daily. Cats won't use dirty boxes. Having a second box may help but must be cleaned daily. Or get an automatic litter box cleaner
   
   
2. Half water half vinger solution in a spray bottle will remove smells from fabric and carpet. Spray the house down. It will smell like vinegar until it dries. Then no smell.
   
   
3. Get a cheap couch or futon and a sofa cover if they pee on the cover you can put it in the washing machine with any laundry detergent and a half a cup of vinegar.
   
   
4. Spay and neutering cats can reduce kitty smell because makes have a habit of marking their territory.
   
   
5. Kitty might have a urinary tract infection. Will pee everywhere until treated.
   
   
6. Cat litter deodorizer can help out tremendously.

Prices for sofa beds are all over the map, from less than $200 to the Natuzzi. I do not like the ones where either the mattress is really a bunch of little pillows stuck together (like this: https://www.amazon.com/Rivet-Elliot-Easy-Pull-Modern-Sofa/dp/B071LTB14G) or any system where you can't pre-make the sheets on the bed (I'm looking at you, Ikea).

For comfort, you want a queen sized mattress that is one piece and decent quality. After that, ease of setup counts a bit.

Got this on Amazon a few months ago and it was less than $500 at the time. Took less than an hour to assemble

Can't complain at all about it, really. It's on the firm side but other than that no issues.

I believe it's this, or at least really similar to this. I ordered the grey one off of amazon and have been using it for over a year now. Not the most comfortable couch, and depending on where you sit you can sometimes feel the springs underneath, but more than good enough for my student apartment.
