You asked for tech items under $10. Here's a few I can think of.

  • Ext HDD Casing. - Will help you convert your laptop HDD to an ext drive and check it for errors whenever you run into some HDD issues.

  • Multimeter - really helpful when testing power issues - be it a computer or any other electrical/electronic device.

  • Screwdriver Set You can open almost any screw with this small kit.

  • Soldering Gun/Iron - Very handy when you want to fix broken cables/components on your own.

are you going to solder your cars harness into your square mount back side? and your reg red and white pin tools should do just fine. https://www.amazon.com/Jonard-AR-910672-Contact-Insertion-Extraction-Tool/dp/B00696252K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519604379&sr=8-1&keywords=red+and+white+pin+extraction+tool

Do you have a solder suckers or soldapullit? You will want one, it will make your life much much easier. I have desoldering a few boards with my Edyson Soldapullit.

Use flux liberally - get it in a pen, or a syringe dispenser.

Most solder suckers are junk. Spend a couple of extra dollars and get one of the Edsyn Soldapult models.

Personally, I've had good luck with desoldering wick. Try something like this:

40W should be fine for switches, unless there is something wrong with your iron/tip. Don't try to get/keep both leads hot simultaneously. The solder needs to be removed.

That depends on whether you have a Metcal station with hot tweezers. There's no MCPCB. The emitter is flowed directly on the driver, and trying to use hot air will probably send tiny capacitors flying.

The right-angle lights have an MCPCB and should be pretty sane. The only bad part is the press-fit bezel.
