I know you've put in a lot of effort on getting your current set up to work. But there's a component cable for the PSP go that was made by sony. That would be a pretty easy solution..
Edit: Amazon link -- https://www.amazon.com/PSPgo-Component-AV-Cable-Sony-PSP/dp/B002LH4UB0
for modern HDMI or good old component? If you're looking for HDMI a new connector just got released a while back and I hear its pretty good. https://www.amazon.com/HDMI-Cable-2000-Handheld-Console/dp/B07SCXD68H/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=levelhike&qid=1568315555&s=gateway&sr=8-1
to amazon? really?
this is the one i bought:https://www.amazon.com/eForCity-Wall-Charger-Power-Adapter-Compatible/dp/B0042J9G0U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1482200017&sr=8-2&keywords=psp+go+charger
this is just the data cable: https://www.amazon.com/2-in1-Data-Transfer-Power-Charger-Cable/dp/B009E8VYPY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482200049&sr=8-1&keywords=psp+go+charger
The component AV cable for connecting the PSP Go to your TV.
Okay that looks to be a PSP 1000 so this will be very easy. But first, to put the files you need on the memory card you will need a PSP data cable like this one: http://www.amazon.com/PSP-USB-Cable-Sony/dp/B0009DPQYI/ref=pd_sim_sbs_vg_1 or a memory stick reader of some sort, but the data cable is usually much cheaper.
Edit not a 1000 it is actually a 3000.
have you tried [this] (http://www.amazon.com/PSP-AV-Cable-Sony/dp/B000VIUNZI) kind of cable?
One thing you should observe is what model is your psp ( 1000, 2000, 3000 or Go), because i think the cable will vary from one to another. If you want to know more about your TV, these red, yellow, and white holes are called 'Component Video'. Read a little on [this] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Component_video) wikipedia article.
Yes it is. You just need a cable to do it.http://www.amazon.com/PSP-Composite-AV-Cable-Sony/dp/B000VIUNZI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1292422040&sr=8-1
With a cable you can get component video out https://www.amazon.com/PSPgo-Component-AV-Cable-Sony-PSP/dp/B002LH4UB0
You can get a converter box to then go to HDMI if that's all your display has.
I know the PSP 1000 had the serial port but I admit I'm not 100% sure if it supported video out. I am however, sure that the PSP slim/3000 supported it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000VIUNZI/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1465242940&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=psp+video+out&dpPl=1&dpID=41hYYSiiwfL&ref=plSrch So this just adds to my point. The PSP slim came out in 2007 and supported Video Out.
The PSP 2000 can use usb video output (the usb goes into ps3 and turn on usb output in the psp's settings). That or you can use the cables sold that are designed specifically to plug in your 2-3000 into a monitor/tv. These are the cables http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000VIPJ0W
There may also just be human error, I've used a 2000 with a remotejoy successfully.
Actually the one you want is this one: http://www.amazon.com/PSP-Component-AV-Cable-Sony/dp/B000VIPJ0W/ref=pd_bxgy_vg_img_b
The composite cable DOES NOT support gameplay. I found this out the hard way.
I played WOTL (the PSP version) on my TV using component cables: https://www.amazon.com/Sony-Computer-Entertainment-PSP-2000-Cable-PlayStation/dp/B000VIPJ0W
It looks fine. I used to play Dissidia on my 42 inch tv using these all the time.
You would need to buy a TV component out cable, a USB video capture device for your MacBook (can't help ya there) and probably some video editing software to crop out the black borders.
(Be aware different PSPs have different ports for TV out, the one above only works on 2000)
https://www.amazon.com/PSP-Portable-Transfer-Charger-Sony-Consoles/dp/B01AO98EXQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1538522862&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=psp+go+data+cable&dpPl=1&dpID=41EaA37ej-L&ref=plSrch
That's the one I bought. And it totally worked til I put it in storage then switch PCs so I'm pretty convinced its a driver issue. I've got no internet for the next few days though so I can't use driver booster :0 and I can't find them anywhere on my phone.
i have this one and it works fine.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QGTU1NU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You would need a PSP adapter for the TV eForCity庐 Premium HDTV HD AV Component Cable Compatible With SONY PSP 3000 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QGTU1NU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_PVbMAbTKJ08T3
And the PS3 adapter for the Elgato (cant find an individual listing on Amazon) but its the one that comes with most older elgatos that goes in the AV in slot
Walmart鈥檚 website sells new batteries for 12~15.
The out cable can be a trick to find, but amazon is probably the way to go. Also for the memory card, buy a dual SD card one. 128 is super cheap these days and you could fit the majority of PSP games on it.
Adapter like this:
UCEC Dual Slot Micro SD/SDHC to Memory Stick Pro Duo Adapter for PSP Sony https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XHPS43Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nT9TCb8P06679
Cable:

I bought an HDE branded usb cable and it has worked perfectly for my wife and I's psp go's.
https://www.amazon.com/Power-Portable-System-Transfer-Charger-Consoles/dp/B009E8VYPY?th=1
I'm pretty sure this is the one I have: https://www.amazon.ca/HDE-Charge-Data-Cable-compatible/dp/B009E8VYPY
This: https://www.amazon.com/HDMI-Cable-2000-Handheld-Console/dp/B07SCXD68H is the HDMI cable I'm considering.
You know there's a PSP to Component cable? It's a pretty awesome investment, especially considering they've become dirt cheap over the years.
Not if you have a PSP 1000.
If you have a PSP 2000 or 3000, you can use the official component cables.
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Computer-Entertainment-PSP-2000-Cable-PlayStation/dp/B000VIPJ0W
If you have a PSP Go you will need a different set of component cables.
http://www.amazon.com/PSPgo-Component-AV-Cable-Sony-PSP/dp/B002LH4UB0
You get the added bonus of being able to use the PS3 controller for a more "console like" experience.
http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-play-yout-PSP-Go-with-a-PS3-controller/
Do note that video out preserves the aspect ratio and resolution of the PSP and will cause significant black bars on screen. I deal with it fine, but it turns off quite a few people. This can be stretched if your TV supports it.

If you want to play PS1 games on a TV, get a PC with an emulator. It will always look much, much better than any of the 'native' solutions, period.
They asked what is the best PSP to play PSX games, and that is the Go, as it's the only one you can pair with a Dualshock. Not because you'd need to "get a dock and play on a TV" (and even if you did, the cable costs $20 on amazon.), but because the Dualshock 'phone' mount exists and it's fucking awesome. They also cost around $10.
But, like I said, if you aren't going to do that, then they are all pretty equal.
Does anyone know if Sony's AV Cable (http://www.amazon.com/PSPgo-AV-Cable-Sony-PSP/dp/B000VRVX76) does RGB Scart? Looking at getting the best possible picture when playing PS1 games.
http://www.amazon.com/PSPgo-AV-Cable-Sony-PSP/dp/B000VRVX76
nah but it's definitely different than the normal pspk series cables.
I don't think so, but they do make TV cables for the PSP.

I have a set that I bought from amazon for $10, and I use them frequently. I would not have paid $25 for them, but I do like them enough that I still use them to this day. Purely for video playback though, not games. definitely makes UMDs look better.
the original PSP could also be played on the TV, just need a cable for it.
