There are men's shorts with extra pockets that don't look buldgy and ill-fitting like cargo shorts!

I have these "Columbia Men's Silver Ridge Cargo Short". The zippered side pockets aren't as spacious as real cargo shorts. But when they're empty and I only have a normal amount of things in the front and back pockets, they look much more flattering than real cargo shorts. Hell, I ended up ordering like 4 pairs total, just for a color variety.

I practice many styles, so I'll give my recommendation for each.

Hot yoga/power yoga/any kind of sweaty yoga:
Shorts:
Pillar Short with Inner Liner, no underwear needed as they have a liner. Hands down my favorites. I've had my pairs for 2 years, no signs of wear or tear.
PrAna JD Short -- I usually wear this one with a Bike jock, as boxer briefs ride up too much with these.
I know some guys love wearing tights or spats, but I haven't gotten into it. I think if they're comfy, go for it.

Shirt: None, or if I do, a sleeveless Underarmour shirt

Other Yoga (Hatha, yin, restorative, etc)
Shorts: I love the PrAna Sutra short and pant. The legs are a bit long on the pant, so if there's any leg-on-leg standing balance (e.g., tree pose), I find I have to roll them up.
I've been really into these Manduka shorts as well, but I don't wear them for teaching, as they make my anatomy very... apparent.
Shirt: I tend to wear the sleeveless Under Armour shirts for most things. I also sometimes will just wear a regular t-shirt for restorative or yin. If I'm cold though in those styles, I cover up with a blanket.
Underwear: I am a huge fan of the Ex-Officio Sport Boxer Brief for yoga.

I personally don't wear compression shorts for yoga.

Hope that helps

So I don't know if these are the exact pair I bought, but they are very similar - LINK - I got them at whatever "outdoor store" was in my area last year, I don't even remember the name. The zipper pocket is pretty damn big, on rides I keep 2 phones, my sunglasses, keys, and a few other things in there. I'm sure it could fit your hat.

If you have something like a Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, Gander Outdoors, REI, or anything similar in your town they should have a few different options for you.

As a bald man, I have 2;
My Sun Hat (OR Hellios) and my Beanie (MY Microdome)

Your second question, pants; I wear running shorts. Like these
Light, quick drying, good pockets, relatively durable and have a draw cord. Weight fluctuates on a good year, quite significantly on a thru hike.

Just don’t forget to wear shorts that cover your kneecaps, like this and you’re good, also, you might need a power converter like the other guy said. Also, Use Uber and don’t drive yourself, drivers here like to play GTA V irl.

I'm a big fan of these Crossfit Shorts Agility 2.0 (Black/Black, 34) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CKA4HQG/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_8l.Uub0DPD9DS

I've got a couple pairs and they're fantastic.

I've been wearing these Royal Robbins shorts for a couple years and can't recall any pairs having any signs of wear. They're really comfortable and unlike a cheap motel, they've got ballroom. Favorite shorts I've ever owned. I've taken them climbing and scrambling with no issues and plenty of mobility.

Just as another friendly tip, the Prana Zion pants are pretty damn nice as well.

For context, I’m 6’4” 290 pounds.

Shirts: Check out Banana Republic, and J Crew. They have lots of tall options. Columbia too if that’s your style. I also love Brooks Brothers Madison cut

Pants: this was VERY difficult for me to figure out. I lift a lot, so my thighs are much bigger relative to my waist. Can’t wear any model Wrangler, Levi, etc. They all look like skater jeans on me. I found that I have to wear a much bigger waist to make up for thigh space. Check out Lucky Brand, and Banana Republic

Shorts: another difficult area to figure out. Same as the pants problem above, thighs man. Most shorts I tried on I couldn’t even walk properly because my strides were restricted. That was until I stumbled upon Columbia shorts. Columbia is known for making baggier clothes and these shorts are everything: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N41G4FY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_b0R3CbETCGF5Z

I have a pair of black and a pair of khaki color to match any outfit. They have multiple styles for you to choose from. I love these because they are very light weight and stretchy which is perfect for Houston summer. I totally agree with the post above about not wearing cargo shorts.

Hope this helps
