I have a gear cabinet with shelves and doors that open (ie, not drawers). Places like Ikea or Home Depot will have a variety of options. Cheap, fancy, with or without locks, wood, metal, plastic, glass doors, etc. Just don't get black because it's hard to see things on black.

Mine is a simple one similar to this:

I lined the lens shelf with padded shelf liner.

On the accessory shelf I have utility trays and organizers I got from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I use these to keep my SD cards, filters, remote releases, cables, spare body and lens caps, batteries, chargers, etc.

The bottom shelves are for camera bags and backpacks, and studio strobes.

What I don't have is a decent storage for tripods and light stands.

So..... Is there a reason you're set on using kitchen cabinets? Just as a suggestion, I know that a standard two-drawer file cabinet is about the right height for a desk, if you use two, and add a top between them. Plus, they are handy because they have drawers, like a desk.

Something like this even looks nice, and they seem to be available on craigs list free or cheap, if you're looking to save money. Even if you have to buy them new, I don't think they cost more than even an unfinished cabinet.

I've been thinking of getting a medicine cabinet to hang on the wall.

These links are just examples, you can get all kinds of styles and price points...

This or that

Edit:

Also, take a look at Habitat for Humanity "Restores" - they sell the surplus/donated building supplies and furniture. Can get really great deals and simultaneously help out the charity. I think I just figured out what me and the lady are doing this Saturday afternoon.

This one is badass, but something like this might make your current setup work better

Hanging Wa rdrobe box - you can paint/color/wrapping paper it to be re-purposed for long term use - but cheaper than a full size wardrobe cabinet - I used the former when I was in a studio and poor as fuck, and the latter for my daughters room lol

10. Survival Backpack Has enough items to help a group of 4 survive for 72 hours. This will give the people with the pack a 72 hour head start from everyone else to establish a safe spot. Everyone else is trying to find essentials now getting stuck and eventually taken over by a hoard, whereas the person with the pack doesn't need to waste time getting food, water, and some medical kit.

11. Cookware My boyfriend and I have been living with his parents for a while now and we are getting our own apartment soon (all utilities included, yay!!). His parents decided not to pay the gas company the $500 deposit to have it turned on because we live in the south and don't need to heat our apartment, we would only use gas for cooking. Because of that I haven't had a meal cooked on/in a stove in about a year. We either eat things fresh, microwaved, in a crock pot, or fried. I am sick and fucking tired of it. With the cookware I'll be able to change my eating habits because I won't be limited to what things I can cook with. Also, when I was a little girl, I never ate at a kitchen table because we didn't have one. We would eat meals separately, and I always longed for the family dinner atmosphere. My goal is to have a family dinner at least 3 times a week. I know the cookware won't help me achieve that goal, but it puts me one step closer.

13. Soda Stream It's the 2nd most expensive item, the survival pack above is, but the Soda Stream is my dream item. My ex roommate had one and it's amazing! Get a drying dishes rack and store it in the lower cupboard. This will give you two tiers of storage and maybe a caddy for cutlery on the side.

Or a shelf like this to give you the second tier.

Here's one with 2 levels.

Get a shower caddy to hang on the inside of one door. (Use more of those hooks or 3m to hang it. See if you could also hang a couple pots or spoons inside the cupboard on similar hooks. But atleast they are out of sight. At the very least get a large cup to store all the cutlery standing up. Ganbatte!

Yeah, definitely get yourself some kind of stand or shelf. Hardware stores should carry some cheap wire racks that your PS4 will fit under....I use them for space saving storage in my garage.

Edit: Something like this (its not pretty but for $5 it gets the job done, and lets your PS4 breathe and vent): http://www.amazon.com/Organized-Living-Medium-Cabinet-Nickel/dp/B005C7STJ0/ref=pd_sim_hg_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1X04KX3WCEYZNFMYP313

Little boxes on the hillside

Well Friday is almost over here in Australia but I am enjoying being on RAoA for the last few hours of it.

First we tackle the things that lead to clutter

Tackle the laundry crap with one of these (can be used in any narrow space really)

Hope the move is smooth and a minimum of stress!!

My grandma used to collect bells! How cool!

What about something like this, so it's multi-purpose. Put your bells on the shelves and then rotate when you need a mirror!

And here's another.

I think you have 73 bells :) Congrats on the new apartment!

OP here. I've done a bit of searching and I found Option 1 and Option 2 from Amazon. They are the style that I'm looking for, but I want them bigger and better. I do like the idea of having cabinet doors instead of drawers. That way, I can make the shelves adjustable in case I have lots of boots or lots of flip flops.
