First: Sorry I don't have more photos yet!

THE RECAP

We tried to do our destination wedding an inexpensively as possible as it was combined with our honeymoon, but we definitely splurged on our photographers. They were over 50% of our budget and totally worth it. Our parents and siblings were the only attendees so we ate at the Majestic Yosemite Hotel Dining Room (paid for by his parents), had a ceremony in Cook's Meadow (officiated by my dad), took photos with them before they were freed to explore the park, hiked around for a few hours with our amazing photographers, soaked up the moment at Glacier Point after sunset, then ate some cheesecake and called it a night. We had rented a cabin for the whole family in Yosemite West, which turned out to be totally perfect as a base for a few days.

THE BREAKDOWN

Note: I did not include our airfare as the wedding was a stop on the way to Hawaii for our honeymoon.

  1. Bride

  • Dress: $300, Moonlight Tango T711. I posted about this before; I got it at a wedding dress consignment shop where money goes to cancer support groups in the area. Though technically it was silver, it was pretty blue to me so this counted as my something blue.

  • Alterations: $120. This included removing the crinoline, letting the waist out a hair, and shorting the length.

  • Jewelry: $0. borrowed pearl necklace from mom, other jewelry I had

  • Ring: $1085, custom morganite and rose gold -- in hindsight, I guess this must be my something new

  • Shoes: $0. old hiking boots

  • Hair/Make up: $0. After getting a quote that HMU in Yosemite was an average $750, this was all DIY. And after a windy day a few days before, I decided as I was getting ready for an updo. SIL and MIL totally winged it and it looked amazing (and stayed all dang day).

  1. Groom

  • Sharkskin slim fit suit: $125.75 shipped. We went to Men's Warehouse and found a $600 suit he liked, came home and bought it online. I think this is it. Moral of the story: Men's Warehouse is insanely priced.

  • Slim-fit charcoal vest: $19.99 on Amazon

  • Shirt-stays: $19.99 on Amazon. Another redditor recommended these and Husband says they were a total MUST! Thank you, stranger!

  • Shoes: $0. Regular ol' tennis shoes, safer for climbing around.

  • Peach Tie: Kohl's cash, otherwise $20

  1. Flowers: $61.34. Purchased at Hobby Lobby (I'm so ashamed of that but the colors there were the best match) and assembled. They were padded to hell in my checked suitcase, but survived transit very well.

  2. Ceremony

  • Location: $150 park permit

  • Officiant: $30 for my dad to get a 1-day State of California deputization to conduct the ceremony (he paid this, but I'll include it anyway)

  • Paperwork: $60 for license

  1. Cheesecake: $38 (seriously so delicious)

  2. Photographer, DC Photo in Frenso, CA: $2885.23. 100% worth such a huge part of the budget. Photos were incredible important to us so this was really well spent, in our opinion. They were funny, professional, and man, they knew every cool nook and cranny to try.

    Total: 4,895.30

I don't actually have any idea what the lunch cost, and the 6-bedroom cabin we rented for 3 nights was $2400 but our guests offered to divide the costs and cover it (still less expensive than 4 rooms, 3 nights at the Majestic).

    TAKE AWAYS

When 96,000 acres are burning between the county clerk's office and your ceremony site less than a month before your wedding and the park is indefinitely closed, worrying about small wedding details sure seems silly. I was a pretty relaxed bride anyway, but that put perspective on me that everything was going to happen the way it would happen and no matter what, it was going to be a wonderful day. And besides, the best parts are the things you can't plan.

With only 5 guests, I never expected much attention on our wedding day. I was honestly stunned when we got to the Majestic (our first stop all dressed up) and everyone in the dining room stood and applauded as we entered the room. I couldn't believe this massive room of strangers paused from their own meals, even ordering, to show so much love to a couple of people in fancy clothes. Such a small shared gesture, but it was a very humbling moment to me that made me feel so connected to each of those people. And they were only the first! Every staff person paused as they continued their jobs to congratulate us privately, several people in the gift shop told me how beautiful I looked, and before we even walked out of the hotel, we must've heard congratulations 20 more times. Outside we ran into people before the ceremony, and many more after, who stopped on the sidewalk or trail to tell us congratulations, or offered us kind words of support and advice. Cars full of people would yell "congratulations" out their windows, cheer as they passed, or honked like crazy. In all my research on weddings in Yosemite, I never saw anyone talk about how everyone in the park is so freaking pumped to see a wedding.

People love Love. And it made our wedding so much more special to share our happiness with hundreds of strangers. <3

Honestly no clue. I got it from Amazon haha. DarcChic Mens Double Breasted Vest Waistcoat VTG Brocade Gothic Steampunk (S, Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXXD108/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_YljMDbEP4MMR7

In true amazon fashion its just a bunch of keywords pushed together.

FYI, you can get a cheap suit that does the job.

I needed a cheap black suit for some reason (I forgot), and I took a chance on this cheap suit (I got it through groupon as almost a lark). https://www.amazon.com/Braveman-Classic-Single-Breasted-Piece/dp/B01GJHN9JQ/ref=pd_sbs_193_1/133-5983387-1689602?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01GJHN9JQ&pd_rd_r=cc446f63-5f32-4a5e-a119-9827e30f32bd&pd_rd_w=Fm7NT&pd_rd_wg=wLkrI&pf_rd_p=763ccc93-bfa2-47be-85ae-0cdd7e00b3da&pf_rd_r=7CEXHRE5W2Z2X5SHZN5C&refRID=7CEXHRE5W2Z2X5SHZN5C

Looked fine. Don't wear it to a Investment Banking interview, but it's perfectly fine for a student hiring event.

I got a Ralph Lauren patchwork madras vest, and thats easily my most controversial piece of clothing.

I just bought THIS for my groom. It's inexpensive and decent for the cost.

u/WasabiBobbi76 · 3 pointsr/trashy

That vest doesn't even hold plates. Cut and run and Tubby Timmy's tripping on his laces, and everyone is slow as fuck in slides.

u/noshore4me · 3 pointsr/pics

Well, you can't fault them for having an odd sense of fashion but this is not a bulletproof vest.

So I've found this tutorial for the mask, and this or this for the vest, though the second one is not really accurate.

I personally don't like the Urban Classics one, because of the white stitching. Reminds me of the Cross Colors line of clothes from the 90s. Also, I like on the Ring of Fire how the buttons are grey/black.

What I have (in light grey/white) is the Levi's Trucker Vest, which I think is GREAT (but expensive), and I've been keeping an eye out for a black one at a good price.

For the price, I'd go with the Ring of Fire one (if it were me).

Try this or this, with something like this.

This is my first post on this subreddit and i am still not sure if i belong here (wich probably qualifies me to be here) i am stuck somewhere between british mens clothing (the fashion with all the tweed, you know?) and post apocalyptic streetware (stuff like this )
So i hope this wishlist is somewhat interesting to you guys
I'm gonna start with the modern stuff and work my way to the posh stuff
asymetrical jacket
very basic cardigan
very lose hoodie 1 2
very thin hooded jacket
scarf
hoodie we are leaving the realm of the post apocalyptic city
another asymetrical jacket
shirt
blazer wich has been in my wishlist for ages and im not sure anymore if i still want it
jacket
unusual blazer
shirts 1 2
some basic traditional vests 1 2 3 a bit more unique or this one
phew formatting is quite exhausting i hope it will all work out well

What kinds of shirts should I wear with a vest for a casual look, without a jacket? I have a dark blue vest that I can't find a picture of and I have a [brown vest] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078HTJKY8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_koGjDbAYFYERJ). Right now I have a dark red and a white long sleeve button down shirt. Price range is anything less than $40

u/grayfox663 · 1 pointr/cosplayers

Hah! Thank you for that advice, I will definitely look into trying it. I might hit you up on that offer if I hit a wall. Do you think this is a good vest?

u/sepiaeleganss · 1 pointr/weddingplanning

Thanks, this is helpful. I'm just not sure about the gray.

How about khakis/light blue shirt with a teal/jade tie like [this] (http://www.amazon.com/Fan-tastik-Eco-friendly-Handmade-Cashmere-Solid/dp/B00ZFERMS4?ie=UTF8&keywords=dark%20teal%20tie&qid=1465313884&ref_=nav_signin&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1) and for the officiant a dark blue vest like this.

Would make sure the ties match the color of the dresses and the vest matches the color of the jacket well enough in person.

There's this one from Jos A. bank, on sale right now for $50. They actually have several similar options if you browse the site.

This one seems to be on a uniform-buying site, but that means you could match them really easy.

Have you tried Amazon? I found this one and this one.

I'm getting married this fall in an outdoor setting.

I'm not very interested in wearing a suit as it's not something I've ever wanted to wear.

Here's what I am considering, but would like some advice if it all "works" together. If you have any other suggestions please let me know. Total budget for all of it should be less than $500. Would prefer to spend more like $200 but I'm realizing that's not likely.

I'm guessing that the vest will come off at some point thus I was thinking a non-white shirt might be nice.

Note that tie is narrow (2.25") and I am not (36" waist, 46" chest), but I much prefer the asthetics of the narrow.
