I hope this answer doesnt ramble to much.
I have seen alot of people that were the same age have very bad loose skin. Do i think that age makes things tricker yes, but It is my opinion that its largely a situation people approach the wrong way. Instead of prevention mindset, they take on a fear mindset. If you dont have significant loose skin yet. I think you are in a good place to prepare.

I have some loose skin, its pretty minimal compared to anyone that have lost the same weight. I feel like my loose skin was the same all the way up until this picture taken this January.

Imgur
If you can see my chest has what appears to be loose skin, which seemed the case.

Below i am 11.5% body fat 9 months later
muscle mass stayed the same(important note)
Fat % went from 23% to 11.5
I lifted weights all of that time and very intensely(heavy weight) in the last 4 months.

In this picture my chest is radically different. Really all I did was a calorie deficit, lifting 4 times a week religiously and ate 1 gram of protein per lb of body weight.
Imgur

As far as I would put it into two categories. If I knew what I know now I believe I would have virtually no loose skin.

Things I did right in the old days :
I lifted weights(very important)
I ate pretty high protein( although i didnt count the grams then)
I drank alot of water to deal with eating alot of protein.

Things I wish I knew now.

  • I lost that weight in 8 months. That is way-way to fast. I think 100lbs in a year is the minimum i would recommend to someone.
I would have taken at least a year and been more patient.

  • Eating highly nutritious meals is important----supplementing with whole food sourced vitamins is good back up

-I would have lifted heavy weights (5-8 reps to exhaustion) in a 3 day a week rotation. I have read and experimented with the myth that people should lift lighter. It really isnt true. If you can lifting heavy is something that will challenge that muscle and rebuild it with protein.

-I wouldnt have done crazy amounts of cardio I have read so much now on how calorie restriction and intensely long cardio creates alot of damage to muscles leaving your loose skin looking way worse because there is alot of muscle mass lost.

  • I would have used high quality collagen supplements. In the past 2 months ive used this, to help heal any remaining loose skin. It takes alot of time but I have alot of faith in what ive read for many years about it. My approach would be to take the reccommended dose of this daily during a weight loss of siginificant proportions.

    https://www.amazon.com/Great-Lakes-Gelatin-Collagen-Hydrolysate/dp/B005KG7EDU/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474221995&sr=8-2&keywords=collagen

It is very absorbable by the body and tastes fine mixed with protein powder.

  • Vitamin C(i only buy buffered, time released vitamin c) because it is better absorbed and you absorb more. Vitamin C supplementation is necessary to really Get the most out of collagen supplements Ive read, as well as it helps heal skin. After my dad said he took large amounts of timed release vitamin c I wanted to experiment with it. So im taking 4 capsules of 500mg time released buffered C in the morning and evening along with collagen. I am only taking 2 table spoons of collagen per day though, because it can get pricey at that rate.

    https://www.amazon.com/Solaray-Super-Bio-Buffered-Vegetable/dp/B000Z8XJZ0/ref=sr_1_12_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474222640&sr=8-12&keywords=buffered+vitamin+c

---Last piece of info---I would say Ive learned that getting to 12% AND under using these techiniques of muscle preservation and loose skin prevention are the only way to know how much loose skin you will have left over. The last step is the one im on to correct any remaining loose skin by putting on muscle mass. Ive wanted to do that and have now educated myself on it. Its really very straightforward to do it in a way you wont gain fat. You eat slightly over maintainence level of calories on most of the days in the week and 2-3 days you eat in a 20% defecit preventing any fat gain, sprinkle some high intensity interval training and your sure to succeed. I only workout 1 hour 3 days a week now lifting heavy.

Hopefully id didnt over explain to much:)

Not related to sleep deprivation but I definitely think Vit C has quite noticeable benefits.

I had some of these lying around and decided to start drinking one every day, effects were noticeable: https://www.amazon.com/Emergen-C-Dietary-Supplement-Vitamin-Caffeine/dp/B00NNOV1US

I recently bought this instead which is also 1000mg Vit C but without the added sugar and other misc stuff: https://www.amazon.com/C-Salts-Buffered-Vitamin-Powder-1000mg/dp/B004FO79FG

It’s not plastic surgery but have you heard of Nova Threads? Or PDO Threads? They are small threads that are injected in the skin fascia under the surface of the skin and they have small barbs in the that once placed under the skin tissue you smooth back the tissue to get the tightness you’re looking for and the bars connect with the cologne matrix to smooth out wrinkles and create better definition of skin. The procedure is less than an hour and you’re in and out and can go back to work. There can be some slight swelling on some folks, none for others. The Dr I worked with administered these with great results!

Edit: I should also include that vitamin C plays a HUGE role in stimulating collagen in your skin which is the foundation of the matrix that helps keep skin supple and firm looking. If you are in an area where you can go get a high dose vitamin C IV (called a Myers Cocktail) those would be beneficial to get maybe every other week to help give your body the nutrients it needs for skin elasticity and smoothing out lines and wrinkles which can suddenly show up from weight loss. OR oral vitamin C can be taken regularly also... 3,000-5,000mg taken in divided doses throughout the day work well too! (This is the equivalent of 3-5 emergen C packets). Don’t take them all at once or it’ll give you diarrhea. If you can buy buffered Vitamin C through a naturopathic physician those products are best.

Designs for Health is an amazing brand too that is available on Amazon at the same price you’d get in a drs office. And since this is buffered it is going to be easier on your gut (won’t give you diarrhea). 1teaspoon is 2,000 mg so only 1t morning and evening would be good. (PS. I have zero affiliation with DFH-I just really really love their products and sold the crap out of them when I worked with the NMD).

Important to note that guinea pigs can’t produce vitamin C and need supplements. You can get liquid vitimin C and small syringes from a vets office or online to give them daily. Mine think it’s a treat!

Examples:

Vitimin C: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00016RLSC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_XgPPDb6004AC1

Syringes: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N01TO2O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_ziPPDb57CGQPG

The syringes can be rinsed out with water and reused!

I was suffering the same issues as you. Pool had a greenish tint to it until I tried vitamin C which removed the staining off the surfaces like magic but the metals are still in the water so you'll be in a never ending cycle until it's removed.

Here was my process:

  • Wait till dusk and run filter overnight.

  • Pool water High, chlorine was low and keep pH balanced

  • Use non-copper based Algaecide to fight Algae without chlorine.
  • Use L-ascorbic powder. Stains lifted immediately so they're in the water now
  • Long backwash and rinse
  • I built a rig to "filter metals" with pillow batting but I'm not sure it really worked since the stains came back.
  • Raised chlorine back to normal levels in the morning

  • Ultimately using CuLator in the pump basket has been keeping the stains away. In the last 3 weeks, the bag has slowly started to change color so I guess the metals are attaching to the bag somehow.

Good luck trying to remove it.

I am myself using HC-110 for most of my development work since it's both the longest lasting developer as well as the most versatile.

I would suggest you try adding 4g of sodium ascorbate to the working solution. It's an accelerator that will reduce development time by around 30%. This might be an issue with the already highly active HC-110 so you could simply go from dilution B to dilution H (twice as dilute), double the development time and then shorten it again by 30%.

Accelerators, due to the increase in activity, tend to reduce the appearance of grain. Sodium ascorbate (as well as borax) is a known good additive to Rodinal which tends to be a bit on the grainy side by itself. The result is a noticeably creamier appearance with a slightly reduced accutance that does however not lead to soft negatives. It's still admirably sharp.

I take 2 of these (2x500mg) because they taste like sweet tarts and I miss candy haha, but any should work.

u/Jackie_madness · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

I know you say you can’t afford supplements but I was told to take these after my hemorrhage during c section. They are amazing and have added vitamin c which as somebody else explained improves absorption.

They are 25 dollars including postage in the USA. They are less in UK/Ireland where I’m from.

I haven't really touched Niacin in a long time. It's been a long time since I've used Damiana, either.

If I remember properly, the Niacin flush doesn't last very long, though, and only in high doses when your body has a surplus of it. While modern medicine still has very little concrete data on how much of isolated micronutrients we need, I don't know about taking such a surplus of anything long-term. I would probably gravitate to the herbal method first. I know the damiana was definitely smoother than the niacin, but that would presumably mean it doesn't produce as potent an effect, either.

Bottom line is, I haven't ever really compared them. It's up to you, I think they're both pretty safe approaches.

Also, if your circulation issues are stress-related, I would recommend trying out vitamin C, which has been shown to reduce endothelial vasoconstriction, as well as become depleted in times of stress. I recently picked up the best C supplement I've ever tried, Ultra Potent-C by Metagenics. It has a complex of other nutrients that are definitely aiding in absorption and utilization (I've always gotten an off feeling from C when I take a pure form).

My pigs get this stuff: http://www.amazon.com/Liquid-Vitamin-Orange-Flavor-4-Ounce/dp/B002LM5XSY

They love it. One was a little suspicious at first, but now they both think it's a treat and go crazy when they see the eyedropper come out. And they get bell pepper every day as well.

Would lot to try these! We don’t have any good flavors locally. They help with altitude sickness, and my niece and sister just moved in. (Sea level to 8000ft).

Someone else already mentioned the drugs, but other things you can try that have helped me:

HPV has dbl aluminum than any other vx. This is the most important. If she does not continue with the series, she will heal. I would recommend healthy mostly organic, unprocessed foods as possible to avoid other toxins. And, vitamin C, which will be a huge help in healing any damage. This is one Susanne Humphries, md recommends. It’s non gmo (most vitamin c comes from gmo corn!) https://www.amazon.com/Nutribiotic-Sodium-Ascorbate-Powder-Ounce/dp/B000Z8YM7O

You can watch Humphries on YT, very well presented and well sourced info on vx’s.

Best to both of you.

Tastes shitty. Stick with Emergence-C if you want overpriced vitmins.

u/midcenturian · 1 pointr/tinnitus

From what I've read on other forums, it's not just Lipo-flavinoids, and not Citrus Bioflavinoids---but specifically "Lemon Bioflavonoids" that are said to help. I take these, twice a day. Seem to keep the T down some, but YMMV

Cheap option: NOW Foods Super Cortisol Support

https://www.amazon.com/Foods-Super-Cortisol-Support-Vcaps/dp/B0013OST3C

Or MPA Supps has their Cortisolve. No clue if it works but a lot of people use it for show prep (could just be sponsored shills, though).

For reasons not worth recounting here I become a devotee of Dr. Linus Pauling and his L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) theories for life improvement about 10 years ago.

I started taking 1gram (1000mg) of L-Ascorbic Acid before each meal, (3 grams per day) slowing working up to 3 grams before each meal (9 grams per day) over the course of 3 months. When I got up to 5 grams per day my panic attacks started to subside and by the time I got to 7 grams per day I was able to eliminate them completely.

The Linus Pauling theories on Vitamin C are controversial, but so was the theory that doctors washing their hands would improve patient mortality rates in hospitals or the theory that Smoking causes cancer. Sometimes it takes mainstream science a while to catch up with a visionary, or a two time nobel prize winner like Dr. Pauling.

Note: If this theory hold any interest be informed that true Vitamin C is L-ascorbic acid, most stuff you get at the supermarket or even vitamin shop that is labeled Vitamin C is half L-ascorbic acid and half R-ascorbic acid, the R-ascorbic acid isn't recognized by your body and is eliminated in your urine. You can get L-ascorbic acid from Amazon Solgar and Nutribiotic Nutribiotic is about half the price of Solgar
