This. I bought the vivobarefoot and aleaders. The aleaders are about half the weight of the vivos and the pack down flat. They come in men’s too of course but these are the ones I got. They’re also really soft where the vivos cut into my foot with the rigid plastic edge.

The benefit to the vivos are that the sole is thicker. The aleader soles have holes for drainage but that also means sticks and pebbles and such can cause a problem.

$6 women's water shoes from Wal-mart very similar to these. They were bright pink at first, but we took some fabric paint to them to get the right look. They also didn't mess with the spandex suit as much as I thought they would.

I really like running in aqua socks or water shoes, like these. I also like ZemGear. The Merrells and Nikes just don't look that minimal to me, but maybe that is just because they still have more of the look of a normal running shoe.
