Hi, so I’ll provide some insight from my n=1 experience with some body fat that was covering my abs. It appeared to have come about by trying to always eat at a surplus as well as extra fruit at night.
Note: I thought this was water retention until asking around Reddit. And this is at 10% bf!
https://m.imgur.com/XntafgR

But to make a long story short, the supplements I’m taking now daily is
> Decaf EGCGs with all or all-1 meals https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RH5I8U0

(I have up caffeine back in 2016 due to adrenal fatigue)

> Coleus Forskolii 1x a day https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0747YVVCB

> 2x l-carnitine furmarate inbetween meals https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013HXKC4

These have helped along with implementing carb cycling, IF, and some minor morning HIIT mainly with jump rope.

Here’s how I currently look now after these experiments from the past month, to today (greater Serratus visibility, 4pack looks “healthy”, and overall a lean but anabolic appearance)
https://i.imgur.com/C18moam.jpg

Background: my diet is pretty bulletproof being a low carb, low FODMAP, AIP Paleo. I’m 29 and 5 8. I also run once a week at a distance of 9miles, but my job is someway sedentary. Before implementing these changes, I was under the belief that calories don’t matter at all when eating a whole food approach. Now I’ve revised that thinking to say they PARTLY matter, but really it’s moreso about your selections of Whole Foods, and not always opting for say, berries.

To get here, last month I started out by doing a 10 day Keto (was going to do 3, then 7, then made it to 10 before I said F-this I want to be able to do push-ups again, lol)... so definitely I found insanely difficult primarily from just having no workout strength. The Keto community will say that that is not long enough to see results, but I did, and I know I can be in ketosis in as little as 24h or less due to already beings fat adapted and low carb inherently due to intolerances (as shown by some Organic acid testing) The willpower of also only consuming greens as my carb source rather than say butternut squash was also starting to play games with me. Carb cycling (3 days off such as only greens with your fat and protein, 1 day with whole food carbs) is much better for us smaller body types, that don’t have THAT much fat already. Carb cycling was something that I heard Chelsea Axe (Dr Axe’s wife) talk about in something she implements and has excellent success with. I found this very interesting and have had past acute success with (as noted by the first image, thinking I was holding water but was actually small “smooth” body fat)

However right now I’m not even really doing carb cycle. In fact the opposite, whereby i like to carb backload since I workout in the evenings, but instead of fruit I instead opt for a organic rooty starch like Pumpkin or Butternut Squash, and I’m doing this nightly. I may have like 5 frozen strawberries and raspberries if desiring that sourness. This was never something I did before, thinking that rooty startchy vegetables where causing this “water retention”... which was actually bodyfat. So now doing these starches instead, nightly only, at 1 meal (idk if eating these earlier would have any difference in effect, I just like to carb backload again due to schedule, but also biological knowledge about being more insulin sensitive in the evening too), I’m noticing good results. So why perhaps?
Maybe I’m increasing thyroid output and overall metabolic rate, while NOT intaking a bunch of extra glucose.

I’ve determined that getting my 2014 Keto caffeine abs back isn’t too sustainable
http://imgur.com/V0uSYo1

Here I was in a very fatigued, catabolic, but low bf% state, whereby I killed off all of carbs, and really wasn’t eating enough raw material, despite building these blocky abs from them being my complete workout focus. However I was also doing a TON of yoga at the time, and too much running as well. I was also fully caffeine dependent using it like a biohacker that had gone mad where I’d have beside teabags “brewing” in water bottles for the morning wake up. Anyway...

Last thing... This article was also handy and my main takeaways from this was:

  • IF fast (which I can do easily)
  • do HIIT (mines more like jump rope, and some random higher acute cardio stuff)
    https://www.bodybuilding.com/content/how-to-lose-body-fat-now-the-most-effective-methods-explained.html

    Final thoughts:
If you want to abstain from caffeine for a week, you should note some greater effects when introducing it back in. This isn’t feasible for me, but I noticed this when forgetting that 90% cacao chocolate is loaded up with caffeine and seeing some crazy results. Personally I would go that route. Cut coffee and such. Then I member super dark chocolate 85%+ (not working about the fat or calories), and also Impelenbt matcha green tea powder to get loaded up on EGCGs.

Otherwise, check out those 3 supplements, and do some IF. My fast simply is not eating until noon or 1p the following day after final meal is at 11p. If you haven’t already, switch to a high fat, high protein diet. I personally wouldn’t bother counting calories once your body setpoint is working and you can be easily satiated (and blood sugar stabilized with lots of fat) for hours with say, grass fed beef and ghee/refinded coconut oil.

HMU if u have more Qs...

[ Note: Probably typos in here, I wrote this on my phone after taking some CDP Choline; I want to see some upvotes on this dammit for the last 40min of life being fed into this post :P ]

A lot of them are gimmicky, well-marketed crap. The ones that aren't usually consist mostly of green tea extract and caffeine (green tea has been proven to give a slight metabolism boost).

In the end, the ones that work really just give you a slight metabolism boost. Nothing you'll notice, but it'll help slightly if your calories are in check.

If you really want to spend money on supplements that help with cutting, I'd suggest getting some straight green tea extract pills, some cayenne pepper to put on food and some yohimbine.

EC stack is another option, but I believe I've heard combining ephedrine and yohimbine is a nono (can someone confirm?).

u/gigi-has-issues · 4 pointsr/proED

Ugh that sucks! Tbh vaping helps a lot too. Also was considering getting this recommended by someone here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LXDJ207/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 It's a thermogenic, not an appetite suppressant, iirc. If I get it and it helps, I'll let you know. :)

u/persp73 · 2 pointsr/4hourbodyslowcarb

My source is entirely anecdotal; the first time I did slow carb I noticed an increase in weight loss after I added PAGG. Could this have been a placebo effect? Definitely.

I use the PAGG stack pills from New Health Solutions, and I might try the ones from Pareto next, but with the former being $2/day and the latter $3/day, it might not be worth the extra pound or so a week.

u/evnow · 2 pointsr/ketochow

I'll look out for Strawberry. I'm assuming you already tried Stevia/Erythritol combination too ?

Interesting comment about Chocolate flavor. I use the one below from Amazon w/ Monk fruit and it tastes great.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075FW7RH2/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

BTW, I wonder why ALL the flavors from everyone is always sweet. As someone from India, I wish for a spicy drink. Then, no need to worry about sweeteners & spices are naturally carb free.

u/alw515 · 2 pointsr/crossfit

I mix it with Keto Cocoa powder and water/ice.

Sometimes throw a shot of espresso in there too if I'm tired.

Mixes really well too, no chalkiness, no clumps, even in a shaker.

KETO FAST™ - Exogenous Ketone Supplement - Beta-Hydroxybutyrate (BHB) Salts For Fat Burning & Weight Loss. Support For Ketosis, Energy and Focus. Delicious Formula For Metabolism, Lemon Lime Flavor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074HFLTSN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_4UhaAbV0HKWZ7

I treat keto salts like people use sugar water to play sports. They fill the tank the same way. And for them actually working, verses comments that they just make your pee purple, I would argue that the squash players that play 3-4 hours with nothing else in their system and use them during tournaments to keep fueled might have a little more experience than skeptics. It’s the greatest product for keto enthusiast and we use it as a family almost daily. Prices are falling as more companies enter the market. It’s only been taking off for about a year.

Naringin Extract Powder by BulkSupplements | Weight Loss and Blood Sugar Management (100 grams) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074HF16NP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5PUdBbBNV0QRR

Swanson Naringin 500 mg 60 Caps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0017OFS0K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oQUdBbGZMF1Z4

These two are the cheapest I have found. I get the Swanson one because i prefer to take it as a capsule.

u/haole1 · 2 pointsr/Supplements

Thanks for the reply! I bought this (I'm not trying to promote it). It's supposedly third party tested. It says "premium Rauwolscine" on the front label, but on the "supplement facts" box it says "Rauwolfia vomitoria (not bark) (std. 90% Alpha Yohimbine) 2 mg".

So far it seems to help with my physically demanding job and so if you know of a better source, I'd try that instead?

u/Clareffb · 2 pointsr/SeasonalAffective

It’s rough in the UK isn’t it, the winter is so long! I found an antidepressant helps, these super strong vitamin supplements from amazon (LINK going to the gym (I know I hate it too but it helps).

But the thing that helped most was developing indoor hobbies. I have a huge indoor plant collection (succulents are fun!) and baking, bread, cakes whatever. Keeps you busy. My other half loves to paint warhammer models, whatever floats your boat. Something that makes you feel less ‘locked in’ and makes being indoors in the rain fun. Good luck man, we’ll get there!

It's just a cheap 24" LG monitor I got on Boxing Day clearance. It's only 1080p, but does the job. I have it attached to this monitor arm which really surprised me how sturdy and stable it is. If I needed to I can rotate the monitor to portrait mode, not that I ever need to do that.

u/_Opalescence_ · 2 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

Looks like there's 3 left on Amazon for the same price

u/ContractorConfusion · 2 pointsr/intermittentfasting

I use Bronkaid, with 200mg of caffeine in the form of these pills, as well as a baby aspirin.

I take it in the morning, and it seems to do the trick for the rest of the day. I used to do two dosages, once in the morning, and then again around lunch time...but I found that kept me awake for far too long.

I typically don't take it on the weekends, simply because I think it helps to not become too accustomed/tolerant to it.

It REALLY helps with appetite suppression, which is the main reason I do it. As a minor side effect, I feel like it helps to burn more energy during the day.

u/Fineus · 1 pointr/AskUK

How's this ?

u/usedmyrealnamefirst · 1 pointr/keto

this is my favorite

Add some cream and a little peanut butter and it’s perfect.

I usually drink one and have a quest bar for lunch or if I don’t have time to cook breakfast in the morning

u/Stepheebean · 1 pointr/keto

I bought these. The price has way spiked, I bought them for 1/4 this price. Maybe add to your list and see if the prices goes back down. They are pretty good.

I've had chronic UTIs before as well as another male friend of mine for various health issues that actually weren't related to sexual activity, but here's what worked for us: d-mannose. This was recommended by my urologist who basically said the cranberry thing was a scam.

It works by binding with the bacteria present in the bladder and flushing it out with the urine stream. When my UTIs were chronic a few years ago I took it regularly and drank lots of water to help prevent them and it did the trick. So well in fact that I stopped taking it after awhile though I'm taking it again now that I'm with someone new.

My friend's illness usually causes chronic UTI's due to his need to use catheters all the time, the doctors are amazed that he has had hardly any compared to many other patients.

It comes in powder or pill form but I prefer the powder. It's quite pleasant actually, like icing sugar. You dissolve it in a little water or just take a spoonful of it straight if you're in a hurry. This is the brand I buy but I haven't tried others so there could be better out there.

It was news to me. https://www.amazon.com/Tribitor-3-Phase-Blocker-Supplement-Mulberry/dp/B0749XZ9J2 I have no idea how this stuff works, anybody know?

u/Pman90 · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

I just ordered this one yesterday naturally, anyone have any expertise in either mounts? If it helps, im trying to do portrait mode.

u/vendorcentraluser · 1 pointr/FulfillmentByAmazon

I am actually a vendor central user, not a 3rd party through FBA, but I was wondering if you guys have seen this before and suggest how to approach this.

We sell one particular product in one size, one box

Several months ago we noticed a 3rd party create virtual bundles and variate with this size (they offer 2,3,4 and 5 pack bundles) What this resulted in was our page losing reviews until a customer picked our size.

It doesn't seem like this 3PL wants to make money, as the pricing for this product is absurdly expensive.

Example ASIN: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017DCF2VE

We did a test purchase and bought the product, which was delivered to us successfully. We also initiated a return and obtained a return address, but that avenue closed as the address was a UPS store.

Can anyone offer insight as to why they are doing this? This 3PL is only targeting our products, so I wonder if it's one particular vendor of ours that we cut off and they are getting back at us

u/allkindsofgainzzz · 1 pointr/Supplements

In the veggie caps the actual capsule is made with cellulose as opposed to gelatin. Here is an example of veggie caps and this is the yohimbine I've used. [This] (http://www.amazon.com/Yohimbine-Capsules-2-68mg-Promotes-Handles/dp/B00NB9YKBW/ref=sr_1_3?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1449201385&sr=1-3&keywords=yohimbine) is an example of gelatin caps. You can see the difference on the ingredient label. I have no idea if this affects the uptake of the yohimbine however. I bought the one I did simply because it's cheap and it's the first one I saw.

u/nishnasty · 1 pointr/Fitness

Hi everyone,

I hope I don't get flamed but I searched fittit, googled, checked out the sidebar, researched on Examine, and Amazon -- and I still had some questions. I am trying to get take care of my health better.

I am under 30, M, lacto-ovo vegetarian (allergic to eggs) trying to lose weight, gain muscle overall. I have currently ordered the follow:

  • Omega 3 - Algae capsules

  • Opti-Men multivitamin

  • Vintage Burn

  • Methyl-B12

  • Whey protein powder (I take it with hemp seeds (or nuts some nuts), skim milk, banana, and peanut butter powder)

  • and Creatine powder

  • Fiber Pills

    How I stack it currently:

Sometimes, I put my creatine powder in my protein shake before I head to work. I take 1 Omega-3 capsule, 1 multivitamin, 1 fiber pill around lunchtime. Then after a mid-day snack at some point, I take 1 methyl-B12. I head to the gym after work, then take another protein shake (this one is just with skim milk and whey powder).

Could anyone provide guidance? Am I on the right track? Thank you so much!

I tried the ones from NewHealth Solutions for a couple months (on Amazon here), but tapered off since I wasn't really seeing much of a result with them after a while.

u/Wilpwr · 0 pointsr/ketogains

The easiest solution is exogenous ketones. I use Giant brand from Amazon as my preworkout.
