I like techwear. I have a pair of cowboy boots (squared toe even) and I fucking love them. I also got a pair of these when I got the boots and I love them too.
Also, also Wal-Mart sells some Faded Glory (their brand) slip on's that look just like Vans. They fall apart after a few months but only cost 10 dollars and are lightweight and versatile and I love them as well. I wear them hiking, doing house chores, sailing or playing around by the river. They are a great shoe for beating the hell out of and once the bottoms fall out you can just toss em and grab another pair.
Oh and if you're selling a t shirt for more than $40 you fucking suck and your clothes probably aren't worth the price paid for them. Obviously there are exceptions.
edit: Another one, I hate Grailed so damn much. I continually question why I go onto the app to look at $700 raincoats I'm never going to fucking buy. I think that whole app is such a good example of my previous point. There's no way every stupid wool trench coat on there deserves to be priced above $300 just because it's cut assymetrically or the designer put extra straps on it, ooh! I know this goes back and forth between people saying it's not worth it to me but it is to other people, but c'mon objectively a lot of that stuff really just isn't that much better designed/made.
Also, at the risk of losing my credibility and buying into the whole self-parody of what an actual "unpopular opinion" is: Stop wearing band shirts if you don't listen to the band jesus. The amount of people I see with Metallica and Slayer shirts on who probably couldn't name one goddamn song by the band offends me to no level.

I scored them on eBay for about $400 barely used; the sole hadn't even been scuffed up that much yet. I can't find this exact pair when I search Google, but here are some similar pairs I found on Amazon (which is where I get almost all of my boots):
Keep in mind that caiman is probably the most expensive of all the exotic skins for cowboy boots. The boots I have are caiman hornback, so they have raised ridges as the leather comes to a point at the toe. Caiman also comes in a smoother version, typically referred to as caiman "belly"; same look, but no bumps. If you're looking for something cheaper but still exotic, ostrich skin is awesome. And Lucchese makes similar styles as those listed above with smooth and full quill ostrich skin. So thats another option, as well.

Anyone have recommendations on high quality slippers/house shoes? I was thinking about these but have no actual experience with them. But full grain leather and all that. Good reviews as well.
yeah, but it depends on what you want to spend. Belstaff makes a pretty nice pair that looks like what you want but they are very expensive and a lot of that extra money goes towards fit and finish. The materials and construction might be better than Fryes, but not 400$ better, if you know what I mean.
Tecovas also make a nice tall womens boot but the heel is shorter than the others and there is no strap. The tops are scalloped a little bit as well. They have a leather sole which isn't great for winter but you can have any cobbler add a topy sole to them. These are very nice boots though, especially for their price.
This boot made by Boulet is also nice and have a bit higher of a heel, but still no strap. Its also a mens boot but don't be afraid to get a mens boot if you like the style because the anatomy of a womens foot is exactly the same as a mans. It's also advertised as a cowboy boot but it hardly is by modern standards. This is more of a style of boot that cavaliers and cowboys would have worn between 1850-1910. It has a leather sole and you would probably want to put a topy on it as well.
These Chippewas are also well made but again, the heels are short and there are no straps on them except for the engineer which is kind of short. The tall ones have leather soles, so again, you'd want to put a topy on them.
It's hard to find exactly what your looking for though because a lot of these types of companies are typically making styles of boots that have been around for about 150 years and don't really deviate much.
I got a pair of these years ago as a cheap/temp pair and they have been great boots... and I have no need or intention to replace them.
Not a huge fan of buying Chinese (or whatever they are), but I can't argue with the price/quality. Also not a big fan of wearing riding boots with laces so I prefer this style.

Edit: Also how do I know if my shoes are okay to dye? You said to deglaze them but they seem like they don't have a glaze on them right out of the box. They aren't shiny and I'm not sure if they are glazed.

My future father-in-law's first impression was apparently based on my choice of footwear. At the time I was wearing a pair of five-year-old Chippewas that were pretty beat up. He was impressed that I came over to meet the family in real boots, and not "the sissy lace-up kind".
Married 21 years now and boots remain my daily drivers.
(Edit: As for "manly", I'm 6'3", 250 lbs, manage an advertising production team for a national retailer, am obsessive about my lawn, and love cooking on the grill or in the kitchen. My wife says I'm a good wife. You figure it out)
