>Make Up Kit. (Have no clue though so will search online and decide on one.)

Does she wear makeup regularly? Well good makeup is really expensive and hard to find, especially with foundations and concealers because they need to match the skintone of the person perfectly. If you look up a makeup kit online and it doesnt match her - big fail. You can put together an eyeshadow pallete, a nice set of brushes, kajal, eyeliner and some lipstick (nudes, reds, pinks), some nailpolish. You can find this on the Nykaa App or Purplle.com. If there is a new-u store in town, they have a good collection of drugstore brands.

>Perfume: She wears one daily but a rather cheap one.

Good perfume is a good idea. Nykaa has a very good luxe fragrance selection with many reviews, so do check that out. I love the Body Shop Cherry Blossom EDT and Tenderly by Oriflame.

>So thinking of gifting her a coupon or voucher to a nice hair salon in the city.

Great idea. A good hair salon, a spa anything will be awesome.

My other recommendations will be

  • a handbag, esp if she is working. I love me a good bag. Sling bag, wallet, cute little purse, trendy backpack -
    anything.

  • You can also venture into jewelry if you want (Earrings, a statement necklace etc)

  • Since you talked about makeup, how about high end skin care and bath products? Forest Essentials,Kama Ayurveda, the Body Shop etc. are luxurious skin care/hair care/beauty brands, she will love them. If she works long hours, this will be perfect for her to pamper herself. For example, check [these gift boxes] (https://www.nykaa.com/forest-essentials-facial-essentials-gift-set.html) out. Usually they have a body wash, a body mist, shampoo, lotion, body scrub etc. with exotic ingredients.

  • A small succulent plant is a cute idea. She can keep it in her room or on her desk.

Edit : Oh, and happy birthday to her!

That stuff is too expensive to waste on a burn.

Good luck Mr. Fine. I wonder if folks would rather use EDTs from well established houses as an aftershave at that price.

Cool Water by Davidoff 125ml EDT - $25.31

Drakkar by Guy Laroche 100ml EDT - $22.49

Seconding Tea Rose by Perfumer's Workshop. So cheap, so old lady. Get tons of compliments on it.

Only if a very specific woman tells me to, and only very very small amounts. I bought a bottle of cologne a girl I was interested in suggested, unlike the many other girls who told me to get some shit that smelled like Sprite (something very popular, I forgot what it was, but it was probably popular between the 15-20 crowd who read the wrong GQ advice column), and it actually wasn't that bad. But after I was done seeing her, no more cologne.

I think cologne can make you come off as trying too hard, and too many guys ruin it by showering in it. When I did wear it, I'd spurt it once in the air and only let a small fraction of that single squirt fall on me. If someone can smell my cologne when they're more than a foot away from me, it's too much cologne.

This is the cologne that sits in my bathroom, two years old and still 90% full. At least I think that's it, my bottle looks different but it's definitely Bvlgari.

I absolutely do this! I have an obsession with fragrances :D

When I'm wearing earth tones or something equally hippie-ish, I wear Burberry for Women or Bath and Body Works Sensual Amber

When I'm wearing something super feminine and/or pink, I wear Victoria's secret Pink or Bath and Body Works Rain Kissed Leaves

When I'm wearing something sexy or going out on the weekend I wear Victoria's Secret Bombshell. This is currently my favorite fragrance!

When I'm wearing something badass (think leather/boots/etc.) I wear Flirt! Rock n Rebel. This is currently my second favorite fragrance

At work I wear Cool Water by Davidoff

On a date I usually wear Fantasy by Britney Spears

On days I'm feeling very refreshed and polished I wear Curious by Britney Spears

This tea rose perfume is the only scent I've ever worn - but I've been wearing it for the last 22 years! (Not AB, naturally.)

Love this giveaway... I'm always looking to expand my under $5 wishlist too! Also, I want that liner in the worst way... lol. Thanks for hosting! Here's my contribution:

1- Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Vial Sample

2- Set of 12 Glitter Mineral Eyeshadow- don't they look fun??

3- Tease Brush because I just need a new one. This isn't really makeup related though, so let me know if it doesn't qualify :D.

Eh, it's a little from column A and a little from column B. For one thing, there is no such beast as a "natural" Lily of the Valley extraction or absolute (in fact, I don't believe there has ever been such a thing that I'm aware of), and I don't believe I've ever run across a "natural" Star/Confederate Jasmine extraction, either. So, a lot of the times these are included in a fragrance the accord will be largely open to the interpretation of the perfumer as both of these would need to be built "from scratch," so to speak.

There is also, of course, the fact that notes ≠ ingredients, so what a perfumer may call "Jasmine" or "Star Jasmine" or "Lily" or "Lily of the Valley" in a fragrance may be any number of natural components, accords, etc that may each include tens or even hundreds of trace components. As an example from my own lab, this photo I shared recently includes "ingredients" for one note (and this particular one happened to be a Jasmine, actually).

As an aside, if you're looking for a good Lily of the Valley I might suggest this one (although not indie). It's also available as a lotion and bath gel I think.

My girlfriend uses Daisy By Marc Jacobs and I love the smell.

I found these two, but they may be different fragrances. I thought they were all the same:

https://www.amazon.com/GAP-Established-Imagine-Woman-Toilette/dp/B00NAVLNES

https://www.amazon.com/Established-Bright-Toilette-Spray-Women/dp/B00XKSS4KW

You could always contact GAP and ask them. It's what I ended up doing with my question.

You can get Moon Sparkle on Fragrancenet right now if you want it: https://www.fragrancenet.com/cologne/escada/escada-moon-sparkle/edt

If you're looking for something different but similar, check out Kanabeach Femme, awesome fragrance that you can get for under $20 on Amazon. I'm wearing it right now and it smells pretty awesome, still fun and fruity like an Escada but less synthetic/BBW vibe - and I get 8 hours of good performance from it. Notes are bergamot, strawberry, tangerine, jasmine, frangipani, sandalwood, amber and vanilla. If she likes Moon Sparkle, it's worth trying, $20 for 100mL.

"Mascolino" By Designer Impostors. Smell like "Acqua Di Gio" but doesn't have the big price tag. This is my go-to. Really nice smell, not to strong and I get compliments on this a lot.

Here is a link on Amazon for it but I highly recommend looking for it on Ebay. It's cheaper there.

I added this perfume earlier today.

Definitely not something I need, but something I want. It smells amazing!

Strange. Most of the reviews I just saw don't specify that they bought the bottle shipped and sold from Amazon. When I view this page all the sizes besides the one that says "6.7 Fluid Ounce" are sold by third parties and fulfilled by Amazon, which I wouldn't necessarily trust.

Cool Water may be an exception, but I can vouch for their stock of Tom Ford Noir (EDT), Hanae Mori HiM, Givenchy Pi, Mont Blanc Individuel, 4711, Terre d'Hermes, and La Nuit De L'Homme all being authentic.

u/teehee_23 · 1 pointr/wicked_edge

Here. SDM is based on Creed's GIT, but that's $150-200 a bottle. Cool Water is noted to smell very similar to GIT, as referenced by the "smells like" section of its Fragrantica page
