Thanks!

Here it is! http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0841620202/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all
I bought it from the seller "swift maps"

I guess as it's titled, it's an Antique Style World Map? It's thin paper, that's why its so cheap. But making the frame according to the Young House Love directions I listed a couple comments up, it was easy. Home Depot will cut the wood to size for you if you don't have access to a saw, too. No glass/covering over it, but it's minimalist like you said :)

Hope that helps! It was a fun project for my dad and I, and love how it turned out.

Definitely agree. Putting two big potted plants by the corners would be a big improvement. Something like Swiss Cheese Plants or Umbrella Plants. I'd also hang something up behind the couch/bench to keep it from looking so industrial. I think I'd hang bamboo blinds like these, and then hang a good sized mirror over them to add depth to the space.

I moved in less than six months ago and nothing here I owned before then, but I live in the Bay Area which has a huge amount of stuff on craigslist. Because it's the living room, I didn't "need" anything in here right away. I think the key is to be patient wherever possible and to always be looking and searching. The things I wanted I got right away. As soon as I saw the ad I asked when the earliest they could show it was and I was there. The things I was unsure about, I didn't buy.

Here is the approximate breakdown (all prices total):

Edit: don't know if my link worked- just search Moon in my Room by Uncle Milton

Thank you! I originally fell in love with it when I saw it at Urban Outfitters, but found it on amazon for much less!

I think it gives out a nice ceiling pattern (as shown in the following link), and less direct light under the lamp.

I use this one.

They are Christmas outdoor net lights tacked on with a staple gun. I just plug them in when we go out there, and then unplug them on the way back into the house. I might run them on a timer for the winter though once the snow falls :) These are like the ones I used, but with bigger "night light" type bulbs instead of the mini lights:

You can use this for the tv cords. If you can paint it to match the wall color, it'll be perfect. I'm not sure about the cords under the desk though :(

I bought it off Amazon-- you can find it here. You may want to watch it for a while to see if the price changes, when I got it it was only $10. The paper it's printed on is very thin (at least from the seller I got it from) so you do have to frame it.
