I went with an astro mixamp and paired it with a Sennheiser 558hd headset. It came out to about $150 during a sale. If you can afford it, it's best to get an excellent stereo headset and pair it with an amp to give you virtual surround. I ended up getting a sennheiser game one headset later to have a built in mic. This headset is very comfortable and is open back. If you prefer closed back, there is the game zero.

If your budget is firm and you can deal with wireless, the sony gold and platinum headsets are actually pretty good. The difference being the golds have 40mm drivers and the Platinum has 50mm drivers plus 3d sound capability.

I use off brand headphones that's pretty good, but it's plugged into my microphone.

So my MICROPHONE is connected to my PS4, and my HEADPHONES are connected to it the microphone.

Everything sounds great, but I just wanna get a wireless standalone gaming headset.

Using Audio-Technica M50x headphones with FiiO E10k DAC . The loudest i turn the DAC up (on windows max) its about 3-4, and that's loud like for footsteps in pubg.

Worth mentioning i use aftermarket headphone cushions made by Brainwavz. I like having full enclosed ear so they are a little bigger, any good amount of volume with these cushions will completely isolate the sound in your ear.

No matter what headphones you get, I recommend to everyone the AudioQuest DragonFly Black USB DAC. It has made such a huge difference in audio quality that I can't imagine going without it.

Combine that with the Audio Technica ATH-M40x. Here's a review from YouTube's favorite headphone geek: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6wBv03B1nk

I keep picturing you living in a closet under the stairs haha. Sorry. Would a track ball or w/e work instead of a mouse? something like this.

> something like an inch circumference to control your aim

Which is why pros often add controller thumbstick extensions to create longer levers. See the third picture here: https://smile.amazon.com/KontrolFreek-Ultra-Performance-Thumbsticks-Xbox-Controller/dp/B00HUWANOO?sa-no-redirect=1

This would probably work. I use this at work all the time to tap into networks to run Wireshark on.

Plus plenty of players use a XIM on console. I feel at a disadvantage with a controller, considering.

edit: just check amazon.. plenty. https://www.amazon.com/Keyboard-Mouse-Adapter-Xbox-playstation-4/dp/B00MG654FM
