I don’t even watch the show but I can confirm, it is one of the most fun board games I’ve ever played. It relies very little on rng so you’d think it would get stale, but it does have rng elements and enough unknown factors that it never seems to. They also have an expansion that adds House Arryn and Targaryen and I haven’t played it but my brother had it and I’ve heard great things. If you have a friend with it, try it out. If not, go to a board game cafe to test it out. If you are willing to spend money already because you’re that confident of the quality here’s a link.

You might have different needs than me. I have like 30 EDH decks. I wanted cheap deck boxes that would should the commander. I wanted them to be replaceable if I wanted and sturdy enough I wouldn't often want to.

This is not for people who want deck boxes as lovingly crafted as their decks or want completely indestructible boxes that are hermetically sealed. This will repel some water, like rain or a quickly cleaned spilled drink, but not protect again submersion.

I settled on BCW 100 count boxes with a hard toploader attached with packaging tape.

50 count of boxes - https://www.amazon.com/Count-Bundle-Corrugated-Cardboard-Storage/dp/B000K3XPTA/

100 count ultrapro toploader - https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-Loaders-Sleeve-Promo/dp/B002K2MNGK?th=1&psc=1

If you order each 100 at a go it will cost less than $1 per box. If you buy the stuff for one box, you might pay $2 for the box at an LGS and another dollar for the toploader. it might be worth it to buy a small pack of toploaders because they are randomly useful and I have never regretted having spares.

Add any clear packaging tape and have cheap deck boxes that show off the commander. I used Duck brand max strength ultra clear HD. No clue what my tape is doing with the extra HD pixels, but it is strong and I got it walmart for less than $5 and use it for anything that needs clear tape.

With the dispenser about $6 per roll - https://www.amazon.com/Duck-Clear-Packaging-Refill-441962/dp/B0006HX2MU

Without dispenser about $2 per roll - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GR5XCW

I picked up one of these, and really like it!

I can fit 2 decks in it, one in each tray, then where the "oversized" cards are supposed to go, I put two top loaders which hold each commander. I keep the rest of my decks in fat pack boxes... but I am looking to either get more of the tower boxes, or find another solution for bulk decks.

I keep my dice in a Canon lens bag like this They make great dice bags, and dont cost anything if you buy a fancy lens first!

I usually carry everything in my camera backpack it works great to have a backpack that is already designed to hold heavy junk. (plus, I can bring my camera too)

I carry 14 of my EDH decks in 2 1200 count white/brown cardboard long boxes. Those boxes fit snugly in the bottom compartment of a military style "assault pack". It might sound like overkill, but a lot of times I'll find myself in a 4 player game where the other 3 players are playing my decks until they build their own.

I can take a picture when I get home tonight.

I had no idea so many people used fat pack boxes for transport, and it makes sense, but I would need a ton for mine :)

My playgroup (and most members in it when they go to other groups) have a very firm rule: the maximum game size is four players. If it's just us and there's five someone either opts to sit out until next game or we break in to pods and move people around. Either of these are better than a game with more than four people.

There's a couple ways to deal with your problem.

One is to say that if someone makes a play, makes it clear that they're making a play and nobody says they have any response then it happens. "I would have countered that?" Too bad dude. You had your chance and were too busy dicking around on your phone. Basically, make it so people will naturally get punished for not paying attention.

For people taking too long a chess clock is also possible, a la MTGO. Something like this. Figure out how long it takes someone to get through a game if they're actually playing at a reasonable pace and use that to determine what to set the clock to. Allow for time to tank on difficult turns, but not to agonize over every decision or play twenty questions about the game state. Once you have, pass it with the turn. Once someone's time runs out they lose the game. They'll be strongly incentivized to move at a reasonable pace.

Seconding this. I bought these white board "paper" sheets from the school supplies section of a grocery store. Like $2.
Those blank poker cards people are linking look sweet though.

Everyone at my group has bought the tiny D6's. They're great for counters or putting a lot of counters on a lot of stuff. Make sure you pick a color that pops for the dots, as they can be harder to read than other dice.

edit: in the same vein of what you mentioned, I hate Clone Legion (edit won't pull the card, but it's 9 mana, create a token of each creature target opponent controls). Sure, create a token of 20 creatures and keep track of it. It's a pain, and only usable in brudicald or online magic.

Those will keep the cards safe and playgroup from being salty.

For what the card art would look like (minus the lettering).

Get some Ultra Pro Mini-Snaps, they fit inside deckboxes.

I use two chessex minidice boxes in different colors to keep track. Which I generally use one color to track untapped/can attack, the other color to say which have summoning sickness and the like.

But depending on the deck multiple tokens might be necessary, especially if Cathars’ Crusade is involved.

I use these for counters... they're ivory from the bones of my victims.
