In all fairness, you don't need anything but pen and paper to write. When you're ready to start drawing, don't make a huge investment if you've never done it before. Good tools will not make up for lack of skill and/or experience. You also don't want to spend a lot on something that won't match your own workflow style.
That being said, if you're looking for a self contained tablet, your options are slim, but I just picked this up and it's super nice for the $200 price. It's a full blown laptop/android tablet hybrid.

Stylus is an extra $20 and it's pretty responsive. I haven't gotten the keyboard yet.
If you just need a drawing tablet for an existing computer, look into Wacom products.
If you want to get into Modern Thor I highly recommend Thor: God of Thunder. It has some amazing arcs and pretty much all of it is great.
Rune King Thor I think came from Avengers: Disassembled issue #80 - #85.
Check out the Fantastic Four series by Mark Waid. He recaps the origin at the beginning, it's a great place to start.

While I'm not even remotely knowledgeable of Doom, I highly recommend Doctor Voodoo vol1 for Doom lovers. He plays an extremely key role due to his disdain for Doctor Voodoo becoming the Sorcerer Supreme.
[Spoilers](#spoiler "Doom basically saves the world by being prepared in ways Doctor Strange and Doctor Voodoo weren't. He, arguably, might have actually been a better choice for Sorcerer Supreme after all.")
So for spider man I would suggest the Bendis run. I think its a very solid modern version of the character and would be an interesting follow up to the classics.
Regarding venom, I'd also like some suggestions, since all I really know is Venom Space Knight and that was not for me.
Spider-Man: Birth of Venom - Collects the first few stories with the black costume and Venom.
If you want to read Venom as a hero then try Venom by Rick Remender: The Complete Collection Volume 1 and Volume 2
Journey into Mystery by Kieron Gillen (Gillen wrote stuff that she likes) or Grayson by Tim Seeley and Tom King (Already one of the best Nightwing series ever)
There is a solo series that is just called Psylocke that was enjoyable
How about this?
Not really with the MCU but I can't recommend this book enough. http://www.amazon.com/Hawkeye-Vol-Life-Weapon-Marvel/dp/0785165622/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419742447&sr=8-1&keywords=hawkeye
This new Hawkeye run is absolutely incredible.
