Amplifies low-level sounds while suppressing dangerous impulse noisesProtects hearing with a Noise Reduction Rating of 26 dBOffers clear, ambient sound and voice recognition in noisy environmentsAbility to be used with portable radiosUses deep earcup design and soft ear cushions for all-day comfort
I bought these and shortly after bought a pair of thick Peltor muffs. Having compared the two, the Howard Leights are a fantastic bargain compared to regular slim earmuffs but I strongly recommend going for the Peltors if you only intend to wear muffs and not doubling up with ear plugs and muffs. Shooting without doubling up on these is not possible if you are near anyone who is firing a rifle or is using a brake.
Stereo sound from the Peltors was a huge improvement over the Howard Leight's mono sound. Once you hear the difference, you see what an improvement it is being able to hear where sounds are coming from.
The Peltor set is far more comfortable. As in inflatable mattress vs memory foam mattress difference in comfort. This is to be expected from the price difference, but they are perfectly comfortable for hours and hours. I don't have grass to mow here in the desert but I can imagine these would be great for mowing a big yard. They're like pillows for your ears, seriously. And I just found out that they make Gel pads
If it is in your budget, you can get the Peltors for $180ish when you can catch them on sale.
I currently use the Peltor Sport Tactical 100 ($50) which does have a very basic compression circuit. At least from my personal experience, the noise suppression performance in that model is better and the sound more natural than the Howard Leight Impact Sports, though both pale in comparison to my employer-provided MSA Sordins.
If I was in the market for a new set, I'd probably be looking at:
Of course, any set of Peltors I might buy would also get 3M camelback gel pads installed, which adds another $40. The difference in comfort with those pads is amazing; with the standard soft plastic pads the Peltors get uncomfortable for me after an hour or two, but with the gel pads I'm fine wearing them for the duration of 10+ hour international flights. The MSA Sordins come with similar gel pads installed, but overall they're $100 more than the Peltor 500 + gel pads.
So yeah, if I were buying today, I would most likely spring for the Peltor Sport Tactical 500 + camelback gel pads for a total of $160. If Bluetooth is not useful for you, you could save $20 by dropping down to the Peltor Sport Tactical 300.
Even just the $50 Peltor 100s should be a significant improvement over the Howard Leight Impact Sports or Peltor RangeGuards.
I just picked up this pic rail for my 10/22 TD. Was a little turned off by the name of the company, but it's actually quite good.
Now, I bought it so i can chop it in half because I had Tech Sights in the first 2 holes in the receiver and had a spare micro red dot to use, so i mounted the chopped rail to the other 2 holes in the receiver.
As far as rings go, consider BKL if you really want to go on the cheap. They make stuff that's good enough for 22LRs, I use their rings on my CZ452 and was pretty impressed with those as well.
This is probably better quality, fits my Glock 19 fine, and has free 2 day shipping for prime members.
Liberty Safe Handgun Vaults Small Key Vault https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077FJB2Y9
I bought one of these a while ago from an Amazon vendor. It's heavy as fuck, but does the job.
EDIT: Don't know if you need other tools, but this seems like a pretty good deal too, since it also includes vise blocks and a front sight tool for not much more.
EDIT #2: You'll also want a roll pin punch set if you don't already have one. A roll pin starter set and a rubber/plastic mallet are nice to have but not absolutely needed.
Not at this price. Since it is a solid scope, but a budget one nonetheless, I would assume folks would be looking for a decent mount. I would get something like this basic $25. Honestly, any of the ones on Amazon (from sellers like TMS) that have decent ratings and aren't rock bottom priced will probably do fine. Many of the decent ones all come from the same few overseas places.
As a slight step up I would look into Aero Precision Mounts.
And on the highest end I would look at Amercan Defense, but at that point the mount cost more than the scope.
I didn't even bother mentioning Larue, Bobro, and others because I don't think you (general you, not directed at the poster) would pair the Crossfire with one of these.
Is she primarily a pistol shooter, or a rifle shooter? For handgun days, I'm pretty happy with my Blackhawk Sportster Deluxe. My only gripe is that it's more than a little wide and bulky, but the plus side of that is that it'll hold just about whatever you'd want to pack in there.
For rifles, I strongly recommend the NcSTAR Double Carbine Case (or the Double Subgun Case for AR pistols and similarly-sized guns). I have the 42" bag, as well as the subgun bag, and I have zero complaints. The bags aren't excessively bulky, but they have more than enough storage space, and I'm a big fan of their general design.
Found it!
NCSTAR VISM Double Carbine Case. Comes in 36" and 42" sizes, and a handful of color choices which vary in price by a few bucks. The 42" Brown/Tan was about $50 for me and I've been really happy with it so far. Lots of straps & buckles, seems like solid construction, and it does better as a backpack than I expected when fully loaded down. It's not built for long distance comfort like high-end backpacking gear, but that's just not what it's for, so BFD. Great bargain IMO.
https://www.amazon.com/VISM-NcSTAR-Double-Carbine-Case/dp/B00XRHGMXC
Yes, it has dovetail mounts on top. I would get on that $50 rebate and find a Bushnell trophy 3-9x40. I just mounted one last night on my model 60 to replace the shitty barska scope I had. It looks great and the sight picture is very clear. I'll get you a pic later if you want to see. This is my favorite .22 I own, though mine's from the early 2000's. Stupid accurate.
edit: here's the scope link. that'll get you down to $32 bucks after rebate. grab a set of scope rings for 10 bucks and you're golden.
153+32+10=$195 squirrel gun that's going to be fantastic.

On a budget? I've actually been really enjoying using the CVlife telescoping bipod, sub $20 on amazon for my bolt .223.
https://www.amazon.com/CVLIFE-Inches-Tactical-Adjustable-Adapter/dp/B01E4YVCOA
I'm partial to the nikon m-233 or p-223, they also have a 308 variant for a bit more. The p-223 runs sub 150 at cabellas, but I'm sure you can find a cheaper one.
If you're looking for even cheaper glass, well, just click around and you'll find something usable.
So... we're looking at $48-$49 shipped, why not just get this on Amazon? Assuming tihs is the same one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00XRHGMXC/ref=olp_f_primeEligible?ie=UTF8&mv_color_name=all&mv_size_name=all&f_new=true&f_primeEligible=true
36" is from $46, and 42" is from $49; both shipped Prime. Maybe it would be worth it if you get the free shipping coupon like OP mentions.
Everything after "https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077FJB2Y9" is unnecessary in an Amazon link. The junk at the end just tells Amazon who to pay for referring you to their site. That's why there are so many useless "review" websites out there telling you how great a bunch of stuff is and providing Amazon links.
Other than the name brand I do not see why these should cost more than $60.
I would recommend UTG's spring loaded set for $60
https://www.opticsplanet.com/leapers-utg-accu-sync-spring-loaded-flip-up-rear-sight.
htmlhttps://www.opticsplanet.com/leapers-utg-accu-sync-spring-loaded-flip-up-front-sight.html
Or their non spring loaded set for $45
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0182VADPU/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_CzAACb7Y6DBFF
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0182UM8ZO/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_pzAACbH7QCX82
I can personally vouch for these, accurate right out of the box, zero issues, made of the same grade of aluminum.
I've also purchased their non spring loaded 45 degree offset iron sights which go for $60 combined
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DD2S86K/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_OXCACbH7F5WQA
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DD2RCT9/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_PXCACbGFR761A
The best part about these is that the front sight's elevation adjustments are tool-less.
Peltor Tacticals are awesome. I own the 100 series which I love, but the 500 series is $109 on Amazon right now (lowest price ever according to CamelCamelCamel)
https://www.amazon.com/Peltor-Electronic-Protector-Bluetooth-Protection/dp/B06W56YRWJ
I was in the same boat a couple of years ago. The only thing that I added beyond more mags was a two-point sling. I purchased this one off of amazon for $20 and it's well built and has served me well.
I didn't go too crazy on accessories and spent more money on ammo and range time.
I know it's not from OP's website/deal but check this for some decent looking storage for your pmags: https://www.amazon.com/MTM-Tactical-Magazine-Storage-TMC15/dp/B00HVDFSQ0
The insert is sold separately for about half the price I believe if you want to wait and camelcamelcamel the items to get a better deal.
Super simple, I just installed my rail last night. I just bought this on Amazon. Literally just four screws to replace, though the threads are really small so you just have to be careful not to strip them.
UTG has a decent one. Their folding sights are good to go, despite some of their other product lines reputations.
I have the set of front and rear of these on an 11.5 upper, holds zero just fine:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0182UM8ZO/
I've got a couple of these: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00JK1XW4G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ya.zDbGFP2YP7
Nothing too fancy, but I quite like them for the price.
>Sold and Shipped by Buyers Paradise
I'd probably pass, this isn't even a great price. if you want to roll the dice on an unknown vendor on a known website, here is one for $69 shipped on amazon.
I was looking at these they seem to have solid reviews - if you're looking for a more 'traditional' style Ive had good experience with Uncle Mikes in the past not sure if they can be found cheaper elsewhere though
That's like $60 in tools.
these amplify ambient sounds so you get better than normal hearing. they are superior in every way to the howard leight impact sports, but they are pricey.
For the money yes. However, if you can afford it, a 1-6 or even a 1-8 would be cooler/better.
keep in mind this one has a very basic reticle.
That being said, I have this and it's solid.
Add this

and this
(https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B009SPDU3C)
and you are set.
Plano tactical 42" ones go on sale pretty often for about $60.
What is it you want in a mount? Light weight? Picatinny rings? Low cost?
My safe bet is usually the Aero:
https://smile.amazon.com/Aero-Precision-Ultralight-Standard-Anodized/dp/B00IB1V65I/ref=sr_1_9?crid=3TTRNAAGX5B35&keywords=aero+precision&qid=1568636515&sprefix=aero+pr%2Caps%2C177&sr=8-9
It was separate, but you want this instead, its a lot cleaner looking and very sleek
https://www.amazon.com/Burris-410329-Fastfire-Reflex-Sight/dp/B000UV3ZPG/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
with this
Looks like this installed
A cantilever mount of some sort. A good budget option is Nikon P-Series rings.
This wouldn't be a terrible scope for an AR but I'd consider something a little bit smaller and lighter.
32mm is the size of the lens on the front (objective lens) 1 inch is the size of the tube (middle bit) any 1 inch scope rings would work, I prefer scope mounts. The difference between mounts and rings is that rings are two separate attachments and a scope mount is a single piece.
Example of mount:
Burris 410341 AR PEPR 30-mm Scope Mount (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0028JNRW4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_Wef4wbB4MQ7R4

How much is shipping from Palmetto? Amazon has it for $74.89 with Prime, $54.89 after rebate.
Amazon review says: NRR rating is 26db. But I cannot find it on Walker's official product spec page. Should I buy this at $70 or 3M Tactical 500 at $110? Both are 26dB.
Not a bad price, but Amazon has it at ~$450 all day, er' day.

This exact mode is $76.46 delivered from amazon, but I am not sure what the difference is, other than one of them having a touch of yellow.

I don't get why the other guy delete his post. I basically lost my shopping list. So I guess I'll ask you, any torque wrench I need? Also would roll pin set like https://www.amazon.com/Grip-Roll-Pin-Punch-Gunsmithing/dp/B003L7HOMG those be all I need?
Edit: Those roll pins seem bad quality. Could you direct me to some better ones?
Amazon just had a sale on the [Plano 42"](http://www.Plano.com/ 108421 Gun Guard AW Tactical Case 42-Inch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029KDHRM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_NR4fAbR5GW1Z2)
I ordered one but now see the sale price is gone. Sorry!
This to complete the dirt cheap build. Harris if you want a quality one.
Agree, from a cost standpoint, you'd spend more on cerakote/anodizing a raw aluminum lower after machining.
For those that get an anodized 80% lower, this is an option for the exposed trigger pocket and holes after machining.
https://www.amazon.com/BW-Casey-Aluminum-Black-Touch-Up/dp/B002JCW2CG
The scope will not come with a rail, but your 10/22 may have. Check your box for one in a plastic bag with mounting screws. If not, you can buy a cheap rail here.
Had the same problem. Ended up just getting these for cheaper and they didn't break. Breakaway Nylon Coasters https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009SPDU3C?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Aluminum does not rust...also if you scratch the finish off the lower you can use this to touch it up.
