GET THEM ALL!!!! Just kidding ^^^^^but ^^^^^not ^^^^^really
If you are interested in the story I would recommend getting Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary first in order to get an idea of what Halo is about. It is basically the first Halo game, Halo: Combat Evolved, but remastered for the Xbox 360 on its 10 year anniversary. It has the entire first game's campaign and a multiplayer portion using the engine from Halo: Reach (we'll get to that in a moment).
If you are still interested in the story, go for Halo 2 next. It is for the original Xbox, but is also compatible with the 360 so you can play the campaign. It no longer has online multiplayer, though, so it is only good for local custom games and the campaign.
If you purchased Halo 2 you are probably interested enough in the Halo universe to continue the Master Chief's story. The next game will be Halo 3. Halo 3 is a great game and still has online multiplayer, though it is fairly sparse right now.
Note: Halo 3 will become available for free download on July 1st if you have Xbox Live Gold.
Halo 4 is the next game in line that follows the story of the Master Chief, however, there are two other games that were released between them.
Halo 3:ODST is one of these two games. It takes place during the events of Halo 2, but you play as a normal soldier rather than the Master Chief who is a Spartan. Spartans are basically supersoldiers. Normal humans who were augmented to be faster, stronger, and smarter than normal people. It is a fun game and comes with the Halo 3: ODST campaign and a second disc that contains all the multiplayer maps for Halo 3 which allows you to play Halo 3 online.
The other game is Reach. In Halo: Reach you play as a Spartan supersoldier, but not the Master Chief. This game takes places chronologically before the first Halo game, Halo: CE, but was released in 2010. It still has a decent multiplayer population, but I am not sure if is more than Halo 4.
The final game is Halo 4, the newest in the series. It follows the story of the Master Chief after Halo 3, and I believe it has the most populated multiplayer as of right now. Though, the numbers are still fairly low compared to other shooter games out there. This will be the game you will want if you are only interested in online play.
----
Too Long Didn't Read
If you are interested in campaign and storyline go for:
^ Play these any time you want after Halo 3.
If you are only interested in playing online multiplayer go for:
I would recommend Halo 4 over Reach, hopefully someone will be better informed on multiplayer populations than I am.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions! :D
The Xbox One S is shockingly cheap. I picked one up for $250 with BF1 included. The 500 GB One S is going for $261 on Amazon right now, BF1 (which I also think is a pretty fun game for a while) included. It's a sexy little machine; the One S is the Xbox we should have got at launch. Even the lack of power brick adapter is a much welcomed feature lol. I get endless hours of enjoyment from Halo 5. Don't let the haters taint your judgement, this game is amazing, the arena multiplayer is perfectly tuned IMO. The campaigns of the previous games are a blast to play, as anybody will tell you.
You the real man
The Arena Req bundle is $12.50 rn on amazing and it give you a code to give

Sooooooo ;)
But your generosity to the Halo community is duly noted :)
Your best bet would be Amazon, but I suppose likely at your local retailer, à la Game, Gamestop, EB Games, Walmart, Best Buy, etc.
EDIT* In fact, here it is on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Halo-Wars-2-Ultimate-PC/dp/B01MU9OGOY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1484413077&sr=8-3&keywords=Halo+Wars+2+PC
I haven't watched the documentary yet, but I was already hyped up enough to buy an Xbox One just for the MCC. Amazon has a bundle for $349 that comes with Assassin's Creed: Black Flag and Unity (digital pre-order). If you get an Amazon Store Card, they'll also give you a $40 gift card. I ended up getting the console, the two AC games, and the MCC for $375. Helluva deal, in my opinion (if you like AC, too).
No matter what you choose a headset is going to require multiple wires. For mic quality no gaming headset is going to give you good quality (and they'll give you even worse sound quality). This setup is around the same as the Astros with their mixamp and is infinitely better quality in both sound and mic along with comfort.
If money is no option you could also get the AKG 701's which are amazing headphones.
Also here's a little quality comparison with the mod mic to other headsets.
People who say Astros are good don't know what good headphones actually sound like.
There is really not that much of a difference between costs of capture devices. Most 480p quality devices cost around $50 and devices that supports 720p or better quality always hang around the $200 price. I highly recommend getting an HD PVR because it's the cheapest HD device available and since they're the most common bought, you'll be able to easily find tutorials online in how to set up or fix any problems you might have

I have it as well, and love it. Even though I burned all my Halo soundtracks to MP3 format.
I believe it was this one.
I think that the posted one is cooler, looking back, but I played so much Halo three so I found it more important to have Halo 3 on the poster.
My least favourite of all halo books, just personal preference and I feel like it's easier to start on familiar territory with stuff your slightly familiar with. If I was you I would go for fall of reach to start with. Yes hell jumper is a comic book 5 part series and there are alo numerous other comic book series in the halo universe if you interested check our dark horses comics and and also this http://www.amazon.com/Halo-Collection-Brian-Michael-Bendis/dp/0785165703/ref=pd_sim_b_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1ABYBE7VYFWJFXKCNM5M. When you start reading Fall of Reach or complete it plz let me know what you thought.
If you live in the U.S. then here you go.

only way. need... a PC version of halo 2, xbox 360 controller USB or wireless adapter, xbox live account (gold)
i still play somtimes. theres usually only one enjoyable game going on aside from that its all just big levels and people messing around.
This sort of thing kind of exists. When my friend informed me that she was going to New York for Comic Con, I gave her $40 for her to find me something awesome to buy. She came across the boxed soundtracks from Halo 1 - 2 (both volumes) with the Halo Wars soundtrack DVD bundled in. I still have it, shrink wrapped and all.
Bought one of these a few months back. Super awesome deal if you're into PC gaming, but not ready to put up the controller.
I say it is worth it for the campaigns.
Also, if you insist on downloading it digitally. Amazon is selling download codes for $40 (http://www.amazon.com/Halo-Master-Chief-Collection-Xbox-One/dp/B00KSQHX1K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451538356&sr=8-1&keywords=halo+mcc).

You can go on Amazon right now and get a 500gig BF1 XB1 bundle for $250, and Halo 5 is $18.
If you search on Craigslist or your local shops you can get it for even cheaper.

Is it just a ordinary poster that is framed? If so its probably just this common poster here: http://www.amazon.com/HALO-POSTER-Dawn-RARE-24X36/dp/B005J67468/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1414458092&sr=8-1&keywords=halo+3+poster . I have had the same one for around 6 years.

You're probably playing pre-patch Halo 2. There was a patch that increased melee damage, making the BXR a one-hit kill.
You can get the patch from the H2 Multiplayer Map Pack, which you can probably find pretty cheap at a local used game store. Or, if you can find an old Xbox or 360 that played Halo 2 back when it was on XBL, it probably has the patch installed.
Also, only the host Xbox needs to have the patch, so you only need to get the patch onto one of the Xboxes.
No, the limited edition at GAME was more of a "retailer-produced" variant (if I understand correctly). They bought up a bunch of Master Chief statues ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00KMNICL4/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1413610827&sr=8-1&pi=SL75 ), and are "bundling" them with TMCC.
There may be a few other goodies, but the reality is [mostly] that you could already bit every aspect of TMCC's collectors edition before tmcc was ever announced.
You could always get this for the low price of $549 + tax! Only one left in stock, order now!!! /s
Thought this was half off or did I read something wrong?
http://www.amazon.com/Halo-Guardians-Arena-Bundle-Digital/dp/B01AYMMSSK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458236432&sr=8-1&keywords=Arena+REQ+Bundle
That is total bullshit.
$90 for three games? So.. I'm paying $30 for Halo CEA, Reach, and 3.
Halo 3 - $13
Halo: Reach - $14
Halo: CEA - $16
In other words, I can get the same thing for a way lower price.
EDIT: Sorry, was fooled by the $. Assumed USD. $72 is still way too much for these games.
