The Moto G4 with Prime would be a better phone for the money, since the budget is $150 and not sub $100. Alcatel Idol 3 is another option (was $100 last week).
Lastly, if you are considering used/refurbished devices the LG G4 is floating around on eBay for 140-200 and it would destroy any budget phone for photos.

The ALCATEL OneTouch Idol 3 worked good for me when my 5X crapped out. Used the regular Fi sim without issue. The Moto X Play sounds like it would be a great phone for you. The only issue is that the Moto X Play isn't available in the United States (I am not sure if you live in the US so this may or may not be a problem for you). If a fingerprint sensor is important to you, I would recommend the One Plus 2. If a fingerprint sensor isn't important, than I think that the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 would be great for you. edit use http://www.willmyphonework.net/ to check to see if the phone you have chosen will work with T-Mobile

I'm looking into getting a new phone as well and we're looking for pretty similar things! The one I'm probably gonna get is the [Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3] (https://www.amazon.com/ALCATEL-OneTouch-Unlocked-Smartphone-Display/dp/B013T5ISN8) and it's $200 on Amazon. (part of why I like it so much lol)
My only concern is the processor, because tbh I don't know too much about phones haha. It's an octacore, which sounded really cool to begin with, but now that I'm realizing it's pretty much just one 1.5 GHz quadcore and another 1.0 GHz quadcore I'm having some doubts... I'm switching from one with a 1.3 GHz for reference.
But anyway, I'm probably still gonna get it, and it should come in a few days so if you're still looking in like 3 or 4 days, I'll let you know how it is! Pokemon is a selling point for me too so hopefully that works well on this phone :P
Idol 3
Its more of a beater phone with front firing speakers and an HD screen. Though I don't treat it like a beater since I have a low budget.
