Please don't.

Please please please please please (...) please don't.

It sounds like wet farts, it's functionally useless. Literally any good VST from the past 5 years does everything it does better. Spend that money on DIVA, or Monark if you want specifically thick rounded bassy stuff. If you want a sequencer then spend $200 on LuSH 101 and use Reaper or whatever, it's fantastic sounding and miles better than anything you could get out of the shitbox.

It's trash and it will be a complete waste of money, especially at $200. It makes one sound, bloated slap bass fat trash, and it makes it poorly.

Here's 9 minutes of it with barely any discernible difference between any of the patches besides maybe the filter being more resonant or the release being sharper. You can't shape the sound or do anything with it, and despite having 4 voices it's worse than almost any mono synth.

For your own sake please have her return it.

e: Here, you want control? https://www.amazon.com/Alesis-VI49-Advanced-Keyboard-Controller/dp/B00IWVWUWA/ref=sr_1_29?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1478595329&sr=1-29&keywords=midi+keyboard

Get this for the same price. All the control you want as well as a full 16 pad drum control surface and double the keys of the Wolf with a much better keybed.

I mean this in the nicest way possible, the Timbre Wolf is useless for you if you're wanting to learn synths. None of the knobs do anything, they're aesthetic at best, and it will only cause you pain. Also the sequencer sucks.

double edit: The Wolf doesn't have fuckin ADSR apparently, only decay, so scratch that comment. A Casio toy synth from 1986 is more capable than this. Don't let the allure of physical hardware fool you, it's got the guts of a $20 toy.

Im about to buy also 49 key midi keyboard in that price range next week. Decided to go for Alesis VI49 because i also want drumpad for finger drumming, and it has very nice such on it. For example Novation Launchkey 49 doesn't have as good drumpads. Also ive heard Alesis key feel is good and 12 knobs and 36 buttons is plenty to map your stuff with for launching stuff or whatever.

But yeah, this is only based on research ive done online, not actually using any of those. But feeling pretty confident im getting the one suited for my needs.

And i did ask about it here 4 days ago too, which decided it for me:

I've had the alesis q49 for about 2 years, now with not one single issue. And it's been through some hell.

I had the original mpk mini, and the USB port stopped working within a year, and it never left my desk.
