Amazon Basics are decent too, not the cheapest but they are every bit as good as teh MS XBox ones and less money.

Amazon Basics have a wired controller if you have prime. I think it’s like $20 bucks? I’ll link it in a sec I’m on mobile. It looks like it has a unremovable cable unlike the PowerA branded ones I’ve seen.

The controller works normally on my PC, yes. Actually it turns out that it's not an Xbox 360 wired controller, it's an Xbox One wired controller, made by Amazonbasics.

$24.99, works right out of the box as an Xbox controller that Windows recognizes, and I've never had a game not recognize it.
A total steal for the price, considering a wireless will set you back $60.
If you have money to burn, get the wireless Xbox One Elite controller. Has a lot more function and customization than the standard but the price tag to match.
I'm not quite sure about the size difference between this and the Microsoft one but it seems smaller to me. If not, there's a mini version of PowerA.
