Honestly it's now around 10/10 australian hot in here, I have got no more biscuits left and my dog has fallen asleep on my foot and it's beyond asleep (the foot and the dog to equal parts). These are very basic and I would go for either EVGA, seasonic or corsair for the psu. Optical drive you probably won't need, unless you plan to convert your VHS to dvd and then to convert them to digital you rip them with the drive (too hot to think). OS you don't need to worry about, just get win8.1 64bit. Wireless adapter, because screw having a ethernet cable running through your living room, also simpler to setup.

Edit 3: I would get an Xbox one controller, http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Controller-Play-Charge-Kit-Xbox/dp/B00CMQTUY2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420187632&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+one+controller, they are an actual improvement on the X360 controllers, in my opinion, and feel more solid and well constructed. Plus the buttons clickity click, which could potentially make up for the lack of mechanical keyboard.

Edit 4: This build is cheaper and doesn't feature overclocking potential, honestly I would still go for the first build, or something similar, simply having the option of going oc later down the road, should you ever need more raw power, is earily worth the little bit you pay more

No way on earth you're reading all of that, so I hid three Gandalf's within the url links, gl finding em

u/AlfredosSauce · 22 pointsr/Games

Not sure to be honest. When I looked at it a while ago, I figured the steam controller would be worse for me 'cause of it's layout. And I don't know anyone who has one to give it a try before buying. I have been thinking about getting the Xbone elite controller because it's so adjustable. Though it's crazy expensive for a controller.

u/DoktorFeelgood · 20 pointsr/xboxone

You might actually like this product. It's a 3rd party mini controller. Comes in red, blue, green, black, and 3 types of camo. https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Mini-Wired-Controller-Red/dp/B00SI1PJWC

No wireless receiver? Fuck that.

For what it's worth, Amazon is selling this "For Windows" pack for $5 less than just the controller.

Haha thanks! Didn't even realize, and yep there is! The original giant Xbox logo is now an OLED screen that plays the original xbox startup animation when you press it.

It is unfortunate that so many games now have such complex controls that it invariably ends up less accessible to people like us with mobility based disabilities.

One thing I would recommend, though it won't help with the games you've listed here as they're PS4 (or at least console) exclusives. Consider moving to PC gaming. I personally prefer console gaming, with PS4 being my system of choice, but the ability to change key-binding with PC makes it much more accessible. I'd also highly recommend this controller.

UK - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-One-Elite-Wireless-Controller/dp/B00ZV0NH40

USA - https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Elite-Wireless-Controller-one/dp/B00ZDNNRB8

The added flexibility this controller gives should improve your gameplay experiences.

u/regularshow99 · 12 pointsr/xboxone

Amazon has the Armed Forces controller for $39.99.

u/HoochCow · 11 pointsr/EliteDangerous

I had a similiar issue, my old stick was naturally a little loose and hyper sensitive, so just resting my hand on it caused it to input roll because it was loose enough that the idle weight of my tiny little hands was moving it. This resulted in having to make the deadzones WAY bigger than I wanted them to be.

If you're in the market for a new controller heres some options from least to most expensive as well as amazon links for buying them.

Xbox 360 Pad: $28

  • Pros: CHEAP, works, comfortable
  • Cons: Not enough buttons
  • I own one and have played Elite with it

    Steam Controller: $50

  • Pros: Cheapish, works, comfortable, plenty of buttons, overly customizable software options to ensure it just works with everything!
  • Cons: Touchpad in place of traditional D-Pad/Right Joystick can be janky in some games and some people just downright don't like this.
  • I own one and have played Elite with it.

    T-Flight HOTAS X: $50

  • Pros: Cheap, well made, works with PS4 if you're a PS4 commander
  • Cons: No mini analog stick.

Xbox One Controller + Wireless PC Adapter: $63

  • Pros: Upgrade to the 360 version
  • Cons: Wireless, so batteries.

    Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS HOTAS: $108

  • Pros: Cheap for a HOTAS, well made, mini analog stick on throttle.
  • Cons: Mini Analog stick is in a weird place (subjective)
  • I do not own this, but I would buy it if I needed another HOTAS

    Xbox One Elite Controller: $140

  • Pros: upgrade over the standard xbone controller
  • Cons: paddles can't be mapped to unique button presses but instead just can be set to emulate other buttons on the controller

    X-52: $150

  • Pros: Looks like the joystick and throttle in Elite.
  • Cons: No ministick on throttle.

    Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS: $449

  • Pros: All Metal Construction, very solid piece of hardware
  • Cons: No Ministick on throttle, No Twist Yaw on the stick, HOLY SHIT BALLS EXPENSIVE, your husband/wife might be angry with you for buying this if they aren't into this kinda thing.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Okay with the all in one box stuff out of the way there are some good mix and match options from CH Products which I'll list below. My current set up is CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Pedals, + HTC Vive for headtracking (or ED Tracker for headtracking when I don't want VR)

    CH Flightstick: $75

  • Pros: Solid Build Quality, Ambidextrous
  • Cons: Ugly, not a lot of buttons, no twist yaw

    CH Combatstick: $94

  • Pros: Solid Build Quality, thumb button.
  • Cons: Ugly, no twist yaw

    CH Fighterstick: $116

  • Pros: Solid Build Quality, 4-way Hat thumb switch
  • Cons: Ugly, No twist Yaw
  • I own this and this is my primary stick for Elite

    CH Flight Sim Yoke: $120

  • Pros: Can double as a driving wheel!
  • Cons: No triggers, not a lot of buttons, some players have reported yokes don't work well for twitchy flight gameplay like combat.

    CH Pro Pedals: $121

  • Pros: Solid Build Quality, Very Responsive, doubles as gas & brake pedals for driving games!
  • Cons: Pedals are a bit close together, some male players have reported this is uncomfortable, the springs that recenter the pedals are really strong and take getting used to.
  • I own this and it is my primary yaw pedals.

    CH Pro Throttle: $123

  • Pros: Solid Build Quality, very responsive throttle, mini analog stick,
  • Cons: Throttles Physical Range is a bit short, no center indent or tension control, Kinda ugly, mini stick might require high deadzones.
  • I own this and it is my primary throttle

    CH Eclipse Yoke: $201

  • Pros: Good for Flying & Driving, plenty of buttons, and flappy paddles for yaw or gear shifting
  • Cons: No triggers, might not be ideal for combat.
  • I want one.

Also note that the joysticks and throttles from the Thrustmaster FCS and Warthog can be bought separately making them worth considering as options here.

FINALLY I will leave you with a word of warning. The Saitek X-55 and X-56 might look tempting, but they have shoddy build quality and will break on you. I used to have an X-55, and I've seen the inside of the X-56 and they both have the same problems. They are a time bomb, do not buy them. Also someone will more than likely eventually comment saying they own one of these devices and have had zero issues out of them, lucky them I hope they never have an issue, but Saitek is known for terrible Quality Control and with the exception of the X-52 buying a Saitek product is not worth the gamble even though Logitech now owns them and is known for great build quality, there are too many items from when Mad Catz owned them floating around in the wild.

u/thornierbird · 6 pointsr/xboxone

I reccomend getting a Power A Mini Controller if you need a smaller controller. The Power A stuff is pretty durable and inexpensive also all of their wired controllers have break away cables.

I've been using a Power A Fusion Pro Controller for over a year. It's a wired "elite" style pro controller. I've got nerve issues with my right hand so I needed a controller with back buttons. I put a lot of extra abuse on the left half of the controller. It has held up really well even with being dropped and tossed on a regular basis. It is available for <$50 from other sellers.

u/olbaze · 6 pointsr/fightsticks

The thing is, the analog stick allows you to use the controller in other games as well. The Raion is literally completely unusable in any modern game outside of fighting games and sidescrollers. And the Raion is literally priced identical to an entry level fighting stick, whereas the Mad Catz and Hori pads are more like "cheap third party pads". To put that price into context, it's more than the Xbox Elite Controller.

u/ibarker3 · 6 pointsr/xboxone

Here's some easy mods to bring it closer to an elite controller:

Quickshot grips. They come with a trigger lock, which makes the travel length for the triggers shorter. Super cheap and easy to install.
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01N1QO0TS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Also, for the sticks and d pad: (EDIT: Looks like you already did the sticks, OP can ignore, but if anyone else needs the info it's below)

See here: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/311650246349?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

And here: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Xbox+One+Wireless+Controller+Thumbstick+Replacement/36840 (there's a guide on there for the dpad too)

Super easy 20 minute upgrade. Your sticks will feel better than before since these are metal and rubber. And they are held in with magnets allowing you to switch the stick height on the fly. The kit comes with 2 dpads, so you can choose which one you want.

u/J03130 · 6 pointsr/xboxone

you dont need to swap the drive, you can use an external ssd if you really want. be warned, early tests showed very little benefit for a ssd compared to a quality 7200 rpm hdd.

u/SpeedyBlueDude · 5 pointsr/GlobalOffensive

Use an Xbox One Elite Controller.

Got one when they released, just feels right now. It doesn't actually help at all with CS:GO, I only use two paddles, one is assigned to push to talk, and the other to inspect, which is why I'm inspecting all the time. I just always have my finger on the paddle.

https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Elite-Wireless-Controller/dp/B00ZDNNRB8/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1524657847&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=xbox+elite+controlller

Really overpriced, but again, I just like how to feels. It's extra weighty, and the leather grips feel nice.

u/Piledriver17 · 5 pointsr/GreatXboxDeals

Also as a side note for people if you want just the controller that's on sale as well for just $50

And a pair of game controllers

u/Gopherlad · 4 pointsr/acecombat

> X1 doesn’t support generic PC controllers so why would the version they ripped be any different in what they support?

Because the "X" in Xbox stands for DirectX, which is the graphics library that Windows uses to power video games. The whole console series was designed at the core to be as similar to PC as possible in order to allow easy development and porting between Microsoft's two ecosystems, Windows and Xbox. So, the assumption that supporting one joystick means the game supports all joysticks is by far and away the norm. You're either really ignorant about how this stuff works under the hood or you're going through some award-winning mental gymnastics here.

Basically every third-party gamepad ever uses either directinput or xinput, which means that this and this are exactly the same in everything except physical form factor and the internal product ID on the device's chipset. Similarly, every game with joystick support ever doesn't care that this is a different brand, make, model, etc. from this. It's all the same once you get past the form factor. All joysticks are treated the exact same way by the software unless you specifically design the software to not do that.

> Yeah it’s shitty but it is fixable and I’d hedge my bets on a design oversight considering these games have been console exclusive forever

They could easily mitigate that by releasing a statement saying that more support is coming. I highly doubt that'll be the case until whatever exclusivity deal they signed wears out (if it even can), though, because the evidence points to it being a conscious decision.

> It seems everyone has forgotten the olden days of shitty PC to Console or Console to PC ports that barley or didn’t function at all (dark souls) and this is project Aces first PC port

"It was bad before, so don't be so mad that it's bad now." They had ample opportunity to learn. Capcom's Monster Hunter team learned similar lessons when MH:World released on PC last year, but their sins weren't nearly as egregious and nothing about it screamed "malicious", just "incompetent". Bamco's actions here are a targeted effort at creating a closed system, and no one should stand for it.

u/Colance · 4 pointsr/xboxone

Hands down the Titanfall controllerthat was released with at the time of the original Titanfall

u/bagelpizzaparty · 4 pointsr/NHLHUT

There's the elite controller for $149: https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Elite-Wireless-Controller-one/dp/B00ZDNNRB8

If you're running through controllers that often, I'd recommend just getting a standard controller with a warranty so that you could swap it out when it's no longer working.

I would also recommend just changing the way you're utilizing the controller. No official brand controller should be wearing down with however many hours you could possibly be playing in half a month. I'm probably one of the biggest grinders of HUT in the world and I don't even burn through controllers at that rate.

u/iBlacksmith_ · 4 pointsr/xbox

Honestly the elite is overpriced in my opinion, go for an off brand one that does the same thing like scuf or Razer.

Those are a ripoff version of the Bionik Quickshot Grips (I really like mine).

https://www.amazon.com/Bionik-Quickshot-for-Xbox-One/dp/B01N1QO0TS

The one you're linking to has no rubber in the grips, they are all ABS plastic.

u/Topenoroki · 3 pointsr/mildlyinfuriating

The newer ones have a different design than the original Xbone controllers I think too, the originals had shiny plastic at the top above the Xbox logo, meanwhile the newer ones have the same type of plastic all long the body.

u/Idoiocracy · 3 pointsr/buildapcsales

Besides being more comfortable, the XB1's dpad is significantly better. For example, I couldn't wall jump in Super Metroid with the 360 controller, and was only able to get past that part when I got an XB1 controller.

On the other hand, I completed Dark Souls with the 360 controller and it was a great experience. So I would get this $25 360 pad if you're on a budget, otherwise for greater comfort and usable dpad, I'd prefer the $73 Xbox 1 controller.

What a deal

Edit: but in all honesty the title on the Dell page is "Dell - Hard drive - 36 GB - hot-swap - 3.5-inch - SAS - 15000 rpm - for Dell PowerEdge 2950 (3.5-inch)" which this is not a HDD unless the controller has some flash storage or huge updates.

Edit#2: Well Amazon has a decent amount of 1 star reviews which may steer people away from these controllers.

I do want that controller too. I seen it somewhere long time ago and I think it sells in custom case, not the whole controller.

Edit: http://www.amazon.com/PDP-Afterglow-Prismatic-Wired-Controller-Xbox/dp/B00ZJRHSRW

u/Dreyzo · 3 pointsr/raspberry_pi

it's this kind of low level hardware, i wouldn't advise you to buy one as the buttons are too small and the gameplay impossible on this. You should take a wireless 8bitdo if you want a themed controller otherwise you can go with any kind of controller you want such as a Afterglow Prismatic Xbox One controller they often are in sale and look way better (it's not wireless thought).

Hope that helps

What is your budget? Razer has some very good xb1 controllers, the wildcat for example. They are expensive but have mechanical buttons and dpad. The wildcat is wireless and the new one (can't remember the name right now) is wired

u/Ancillas · 3 pointsr/buildapc

This is partially incorrect. There are actually three variants.

  1. USB connection. Any Xbox One controller with a micro-usb cable that can handle data and power will work.

  2. Xbox Wireless. This requires a special dongle unless it's built in to your PC (only on some Microsoft Surface devices). The dongle costs extra unless you buy a controller/dongle kit.

  3. Bluetooth. This is standard bluetooth that will work with a regular old bluetooth radio in your PC. Only specific Xbox One controllers have bluetooth support.

Here's the official page describing these.
u/billchase2 · 3 pointsr/oculus

I'd go for this wired controller https://smile.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Xbox-One-Wired-Controller-Black/dp/B07CZTVHY8/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=wired+xbox+one+controller+pc&qid=1562929452&s=gateway&sr=8-3

It's reliable, affordable and if you need an extra 6 feet, get a USB Female to Male Extension cord.

u/Derkatron · 3 pointsr/farcry

I do prefer the real xbone controller, but this one: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Xbox-One-Wired-Controller-Black/dp/B07CZTVHY8/ is the one I have 4 of for party games since its cheaper and seems to work fine.

u/AvinashL · 3 pointsr/teslamotors

i got this in white. . . one for both of our model 3's. both work great! bad reviews are from the 1st gen of the controller. 2nd gen apparently doesn't have any problems and it's made by amazon so apparently they back it well if it does break. so far it's been great!

u/tomharrisonjr · 3 pointsr/TeslaModel3

They say wired. I think wireless should theoretically work if you plug the wireless dongle into USB, but others have said it's a no go.

I got this (wired)one from Amazon based on other recommendations : amazon basics

u/absentbird · 2 pointsr/Games

You can see the D-Pad pretty well in the product pictures: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Wireless-Controller/dp/B00CMQTUSS

I would expect a used one would cost at least $30-$40

u/ZapActions-dower · 2 pointsr/GirlGamers

If you like the Xbox controller, there are three easily solutions for you, by increasing price:

http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-360-Wired-Controller/dp/B003ZSN600

http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Controller-Windows/dp/B004QRKWKQ

http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Wireless-Controller/dp/B00CMQTUSS

I use the middle option, as I prefer not having any more cables than necessary, plus any Xbox 360 controller can connect to the wireless dongle, meaning you can buy extra, new model controllers (not Xbox One) or use any controllers you can borrow. The Xbox One controller must remain plugged in via Micro-USB (included,) and the wired Xbox 360 controller obviously is wired. Microsoft has released drivers for all three and they should install automatically. For right now, there is no way to connect an Xbox One controller wirelessly.

For PS3, you will have to find a driver package. I used motioninjoy so I could use my PS3 controller for emulating SNES games, but it messed up other drivers and I ended up uninstalling it and using my 360 controller exclusively. Once the drivers are installed, you can use a Bluetooth dongle to connect the PS3 controller to the PC wirelessly.

A PS4 controller can also be used via Bluetooth, but requires DS4Tool which maps the buttons on the DS4 controller to their corresponding Xbox 360 buttons.

You can mate, I have these and just like you say the regular battery packs (older style door covers) have 3 plastic tabs and the Elite Controllers have 1 big tab in middle and 2 smaller tabs one either side.

What you do is take thin nosed pliers and snap off the two outer large tabs leaving just the middle large tab, then use a knife/scalpel and just cut slithers off the rough plastic where you snapped off those tabs.

I've done it successfully before and just did it on two more for my Elite controllers, now they sit on the dock and charge without problem with battery packs in :)

u/Djmac24 · 2 pointsr/xboxone

I highly recommend this charging dock -
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Venom-Xbox-One-Twin-Charging-Cradle/dp/B00G4UCNI2/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1453049493&sr=1-1&keywords=venom+charging+dock

Great one, comes with two battery packs and charges fairly quickly, especially if you are only using one controller, can switch out whilst the other is charging.

u/Hotrian · 2 pointsr/Vive

You made me check around Amazon :P.

Very Interesting. Infact, you can get this Xbox One Controller + Cable for $37, though it seems to be the Old version. You can also get this Xbox One "Wireless" Controller for $46. The difference?
> - Now features a 3.5 millimeter stereo headset jack that lets you plug your favorite gaming headset right into the controller.
> - Now the controller can be updated wirelessly instead of needing to connect a USB cable.
> - Contents: Wireless Controller and AA Batteries (2)

So if you care about those things it will cost you $9 more :P. Though, some of the reviewers also say the Bumpers are better, they look exactly the same in the photo, though I think it's actually a render and not a photo, so maybe they are better? I actually have this controller in specific though I'm pretty sure it's the same as the old version as it doesn't have the 3.5mm port. I don't have any complaints with the bumpers, and after many months of frequent use they show no signs of wear (which some reviewers seem to complain about with the old version).

If you're on Xbox get the Xbox One Elite, not a SCUF. It comes stock with all the customization options that would cost you over $200 to upgrade to with a SCUF.

Unless you value cosmetic customization more, then SCUFs are great.

Yea it's a very common thread there, and you can't blame people, you'd expect better from a $150 controller than some flimsy parts and a 90 day warranty. Seems like people either love it or get a crappy one. It's what's kept me from getting one even though some of my friends rave about it

u/iJTL · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

..... you should pick up a RGB LED strip for behind your monitors, it looks too dark there. And you could really use a RGB underglow for your desk AND computer. Ohh, and your controller isn't RGB...

Ps. Thank me later ;)

u/emdave · 2 pointsr/xboxone

Any Xbox compatible 3.5mm Jack headset can be used with the official Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter. They are about £16 ($20?) on Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Xbox-Stereo-Headset-Adapter/dp/B00I41H7US/). This plugs into the rectangular port on the bottom of the controller, and gives you mute, chat / game balance, and volume up / down buttons. It's very simple to use, and gives you full control over the volume balance for game and chat.

You can also get aftermarket pads from PDP, which have a 3.5mm socket for any Xbox compatible headset with a 3.5mm Jack, and they have a special dedicated button by the right thumb stick, which when double tapped, mutes the mic, and when held down, turns the D-Pad into a volume up / down and chat / game balance control.

This is what I use, and it is so easy to adjust game and chat volume on the fly, I'm actually surprised MS don't do something similar - it's such an intuitive way of doing it. One thing though, is that I don't know whether PDP do a wireless pad with this feature, (I'd have to google it) as the ones I've seen on Amazon are wired (as is mine). They are only about £35 / $40 or less though, and the cable means the controller is light, and never runs out of battery! :D

Edit - Had a look and can't find a wireless version, but this is the one I have, and I am very pleased with it, cable is nice and long, and fits securely. It feels a bit different to a regular controller, some things better, some things worse. The home button is much easier to use, but the triggers are flatter. I bought a PowerA controller and while I like the ergonomics of it, the construction quality isn't the greatest. The A button started to stick after a short time and one of the bumpers started to misfunction. I had a super hard time getting it replaced through their customer service and eventually had to bitch at their twitter account to get a replacement one. Then the A button started to jam quickly on that one too. I was able to open it up and do some work and fix it, but that obviously isn't ideal.

I'd suggest just getting a new controller if you still have the option to at best buy until they improve their quality standards.

If you are looking for a decent cheap controller, I've heard good things about this one.

Answering your question: PowerA makes a decent wired Xbox One controller. Amazon.co.uk link

Fixing the issue: Have you tried a different USB cable or port? There's a chance that the port you are plugging into cannot supply enough voltage to power the controller and operate the vibration motors simultaneously.

Additionally, you could just turn off the vibration and see if that helps.

I have a wired 360 pad (but /u/Vulfilla posted a link to the wireless one) and I can say that I am very happy with the ergonomics, I have an old one with both sticks on the bottom, like the Logitech, and I feel that the 360 layout of having one stick at the top is much more comforable.

You might consider an Xbox One Controller, which people describe as being even more ergonomic, or a PS4 Controller.

From what I have read, for $25-30 it is a pretty good controller. Obviously won't be as good or solidly built as the official controller, but still decent enough.

u/Remagi · 1 pointr/GameDeals

I was planning on wireless, but it looks like a company named PowerA makes officially licensed wired controllers

u/AzZubana · 1 pointr/linux_gaming

I use this one from PowerA.

Quality wise I am satisfied. Sure it doesn't feel quite as good as an official one but it is fine. The sticks feel good. The triggers do have a cheap feel, for the price I don't notice.

Compatibility will be a hit or miss I think. Mostly it just works and is recognized as an Xbox pad. Steam works. It is all about the device IDs. If you can find a way to edit the reported USB device ID to the offical pad it would function exactly the same way.

I don't know about with emulators. I have had just one game not recognize the controller and that is Dirt Rally. The fix is to add my pads ID to the inputconfiguration.json in the game files. Surely other games would have this issue but not many.

Can you confirm something for me then? Is the controller in this amazon link the Bluetooth one?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0F0OIY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_Xw8ODbCS7TH2E

u/G-Ziss · 1 pointr/OculusGo

Thanks. Would these controllers work with the Go?

Edit: Apparently these won't work with the Go since these are not Xbox One S controllers specifically, but I can't seem to find any S controllers for sale.

Also, probably a dumb question, but how would I charge them if I don't own an Xbox One?

u/undead_drop_bear · 1 pointr/xboxone

have you thought of just modding a regular controller?

https://www.amazon.com/Collective-Minds-Xbox-One-Mod-Pack/dp/B07H4MPJ5X/

https://www.amazon.com/Bionik-Quickshot-for-Xbox-One/dp/B01N1QO0TS/

i tried the elite controller but just wasn't a fan of how all the parts could come off, so i stick to a regular controller since they're way easier to replace and i love the bluetooth functionality. i use the x1 controller with the snes classic and emulators on my android devices and it works wonderfully.

i could understand if you got too used to the paddles though. i would have loved those when i was really into online fps a while ago.

u/andysaurus_rex · 1 pointr/RocketLeague

Yeah it’s just a standard XB1 controller. I’m curious where he found it for $30 but maybe on sale it could be?

Here’s the Amazon link

Xbox Wireless Controller - Grey/Green https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074FBKCMB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fhbiAbHXGSFHG

Flattered, but I just use a normal Xbox One controller:

Also, didn't downvote you, was busy playing Cities: Skylines.

It's called the Duke, and there was actually a USB version of it released recently for the Xbone and PC

u/personalhale · 1 pointr/gaming

Affectionately named the "Duke." They've recently been re-made by a 3rd party. https://www.amazon.com/Hyperkin-DUKE-Xbox-One-Wired-Controller/dp/B079ZPCCLM

I personally use this one AmazonBasics Xbox One Wired... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CZTVHY8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

u/sadminingcaptain · 1 pointr/PlaystationClassic

The controller works normally on my PC, yes. Actually it turns out that it's not an Xbox 360 wired controller, it's an Xbox One wired controller, made by Amazonbasics.

u/StoneEagleCopy · 1 pointr/Madden

If you have a PS4 Controller, there are ways to get it working through 3rd party programs such as DS4Windows. You can also get a fake XB controller and that I think would work, but don't count me on that. (https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Xbox-One-Wired-Controller-Black/dp/B07CZTVHY8)

u/Jpait94 · 1 pointr/xboxone

Amazon Basics have a wired controller if you have prime. I think it’s like $20 bucks? I’ll link it in a sec I’m on mobile. It looks like it has a unremovable cable unlike the PowerA branded ones I’ve seen.

I just bought this WIRED Xbox one controller for my pc. Link for reference. Is this controller compatible with the switch since it's USB wired or would I need to buy an adapter to use it?

u/DogTheBoss69 · 1 pointr/xbox

It's a white AmazonBasics wired controller, found here.

u/SigmaTheDJ · 1 pointr/xbox

Xbox One controllers made by Microsoft all work as both wired and wireless controllers.

My guess is that the $20 one you saw is a third party one, like this one made by PowerA which looks almost identical to a Microsoft one: -

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Enhanced-Wired-Controller-Xbox-One/dp/B07DHY6YLM/

All third party controllers are wired only, as MS doesn't allow companies to license the Xbox Wireless technology when it comes to controllers.

u/wil_13 · 1 pointr/Blackops4

I'm in exactly the same position as you, and as I don't right now have the money to spend on a scuff or a cinch, I've actually just picked up one of these

https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-Enhanced-Wired-Controller-Xbox-One/dp/B07DHY6YLM/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1537582843&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=enhanced+xbox+controller&dpPl=1&dpID=41Bnmj45hGL&ref=plSrch

I haven't really had a chance to try it yet but I can let you know how it goes if you like, I really bought it so I could try out the extra buttons before spending big on one of the big brands. It does feel kind of cheap to be honest and I don't think it will be a main controller for anyone who plays a lot ... but just to try out the extra buttons it should be ok............ I think!

u/-LicketySplits- · 1 pointr/xboxone

If you're looking for cheap but good go for Power A. This is one of the few brands that can survive my kids. They usually have pretty good button feel for a cheaper alternative as well.

https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-Enhanced-Wired-Controller-Xbox-One/dp/B07DHY6YLM/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=xbox+one+powera+controller&qid=1556031714&s=gateway&sr=8-3

Personally I use a micro USB cable with the standard Microsoft controllers. They are more expensive but they last longer and typical repairs (new thumbsticks and sensors) are actually cheap and easy to do.

u/OneOfThree101 · 0 pointsr/xboxone

Nothing yet, but along with rumours that Treyarch is taking advantage of the new 3-year CoD developer cycle to help develop this game, the official controller has shown to include some familiar marks as seen on Black Ops games to indicate the existence of zombies

u/jonnyd005 · 0 pointsr/buildapcsales

Have you owned the Afterglow Controller? I'd be curious how they compare. I just bought this controller and it's so much better than the original xbox one controller. The build quality is amazing, the buttons, bumpers, and triggers all feel far superior to me.

u/declared_somnium · 0 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I'm saving up for this, a nice new Nintendo Switch because my brother in law got one and it's so fucking infuriating when he's sat there playing Zelda and I want it.

I'm also saving up for this, because the customisable aspect of it just rocks. I have a few games where the paddles would kick ass, like Elite Dangerous, left paddle deploys landing gear, right paddle shoots a heat sink.

Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis When I was dead broke, man I couldn't picture this

u/Zazea · 0 pointsr/halo

Oh no $70 or £50 for a decent monitor, keyboard and mouse.
It's almost like that's actually more affordable.

u/whataTyphoon · 0 pointsr/GearsOfWar

Theres the Razer Sabertooth, it's better than the elite in terms of functions imho, is a bit cheaper, but has worse build quality.

A cheaper alternative are the PowerA Fusion for about 30 $ and the PowerA Fusion Pro for about 80 $. Both have not that premium-feel, but they shouldn't be bad.

u/dabroxar · 0 pointsr/xboxone

I'm not quite sure about the size difference between this and the Microsoft one but it seems smaller to me. If not, there's a mini version of PowerA. Hope it helps. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Xbox-One-Wired-Controller-Black/dp/B07CZTVHY8/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=xbox+one+wired+controller&qid=1559118258&s=gateway&sprefix=xbox+one+wired+&sr=8-3

AmazonBasics Xbox One Wired Controller

$24.99, works right out of the box as an Xbox controller that Windows recognizes, and I've never had a game not recognize it.

A total steal for the price, considering a wireless will set you back $60.

If you have money to burn, get the wireless Xbox One Elite controller. Has a lot more function and customization than the standard but the price tag to match.

I don't mind the ones in the OP. I would like another option that's similar to the new Halo Astros, i.e. military-style green and a little brown or bronze. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/FileLibrary/ProductResources/Images/120295-L-LO.jpg
