Here it is:

1" Stir Bar
Computer fan with speed controller
Rare earth magnets

(optional) Erlenmeyer flask

I used a spare project box I had for the container, but a cigar box etc would work. If you want a more detailed description of the actual process let me know. I also used a spare 9v dc adapter I had lying around. Even the fan and earth magnets can be found in an old computer tower, knocking your price down to a whoppin' $5.45 for the stir bar.

edit: $9 to ship 5 of them, $11 to ship 10. Meh! $2/each, still a good deal though! Also, apparently I hadn't used Tiger Direct since 2005, and they won't let me update my address before or during checkout, lol.

I'm thinking about the same case (or the F1, which is essentially the same) with a motherboard that only supports 1 system fan. I'm looking into plugging 2 80mm fans directly into the PSU (pretty sure this is doable). I've selected these because they have a small switch to adjust speed/noise/etc.

To keep a hard drive cool, you only need very little airflow.
