MoBo
This says it supports 3200(OC) Ram should i not get this board and this ram together?
Ram
Im also in the middle of a build and this question has me confused im not as good with specs as i should be. thanks!
really curious why the amazon page shows 3200mhz (OC) as the max ram speed... Checked the official Asus site and it shows only 2666, so I guess thats the real answer? I guess I can cheap out on ram after all... Really annoyed with the mixed info.

They come out at 1pm today. They are on amazon now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06WD4N297?tag=pcper0a4-20
BTW, have you ordered anything yet? I found an excellent deal on a motherboard:

This Asus motherboard usually goes for $150, but you can get it "like new" from Amazon warehouse for $89, which amazing! It has much, much better VRMs (important for overclocking) than any B350 motherboard. Try to get this!

Read the reviews. Memory issues and board not posting.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WD4N297/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 is the one I got grr wish I double checked the backplate issue before.
I went with a 1700X myself. This is literally my first ever computer build and I am excited. I almost pulled the trigger on an i7 machine 2 weeks ago but then the ryzen stuff popped up on reddit and I am glad I waited.
The board I pre ordered was the Asus Prime https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WD4N297/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It has the most similar feature set to the Z270 board I was going to get & around the same price.
Amazon has this Asus Prime X370-Pro motherboard available used on their warehouse deals. Would anyone recommend buying a used mobo, and what problems might I have going that route? It says it's in the original packaging, but would I maybe have to worry about not getting all the cables that come with it?
I've reached the point in my build where I'm getting ready to start purchasing, however, I've run into an... uncertainty. The operating system I've chosen ( here ) is installed USB Flash drive. I have once before encountered an OS being installed from bootable flash drive, but I don't know if my chosen motherboard ( here ) can do it. Should I go ahead with my acquisitions or should I be looking for a CD copy of the OS?
Can an Asus motherboard with Aura Sync control the lighting for a Gigabyte graphics card?

I have an SLI bridge that comes with this motherboard, but am not against buying a different one for upgrading performance.
I currently have this Gigabyte 1080, not sure if this has anything to do with the performance of bridges though.
Not necessarily looking to do SLI right away, just want to be a bit more informed.
As for the mobo, I'm leaning towards the Asus X370 prime , do they look like a good fit together? From the spec sheets, it looks like they are compatible.
Awesome, thanks for all the useful information! Definitely liking this build. The case and fan look perfect for keeping this quiet at high performance.
The only concern I am having is on the motherboard. Looks like a lot of bad Amazon reviews (https://www.amazon.com/Prime-X370-Pro-Ryzen-Motherboard-Lighting/dp/B06WD4N297) related to the board being shipped with the wrong BIOS. Do you think I should hope everything goes OK, or is there a comparable MOBO you can recommend?
I wasn't able to really differentiate any of them - they are very similar. Let me give you two videos to watch, so that you may become more informed about the importance of good power delivery on the motherboard. I think you should make sure you cover all your bases and see if you can find a good deal on a high-end board in your price range. It is always a good idea to not "cheap out" on the cornerstone of your PC. Thus, I can't give you a definitive recommendation because I wouldn't choose any of them. Here is what I use with a Ryzen 2600, and I got it for $50 USD. Here and here are the videos you should watch. Enjoy!
EDIT: Chipsets are backwards-compatible with Ryzen, meaning you can use an X370 board with a Ryzen 2600 as long as it has been updated.
Looks you have 4 options...
MSI X370 XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM - Most expensive. I'd probably pass on this one personally, too expensive for the features on offer.
ASUS Crosshair VI Hero - Second most expensive, but probably the best one out of the ones up for pre-order on Amazon. 12 phase power design, decent feature set.
MSI X370 GAMING PRO CARBON - Quite a bit cheaper. Seems like a fairly decent board. 10 phase power design, claims support for 3200MHz(OC) RAM. Pretty decent feature set.
ASUS Prime X370-Pro - Cheaper again, and again a 10 phase power design. Supports 2666MHz RAM, but may well OC higher. A fairly nice feature set as well.
There are a few B350s available as well, but I personally wouldn't go for one as they're a bit of an unknown right now in terms of OC capabilities.
I pre-ordered the asus prime x370 pro witch I think has similar mounting holes. EDIT: at closer look it doesn't look like it has the same holes as the VI Hero.
