I got my smartphone for ~$150, it's blazing fast and the battery lasts for three days of normal use. Asus yeeee.
E: that being said, this phone gets a -1 for no NFC support. I have to pay for things with physical credit cards, like a pleb.
Asus Zenfone 3 MAX. Excellent battery, decent camera, good build quality. Only downside is the rounded edges on the screen glass (screen protectors don't seal completely).

The ASUS ZenFone 3 or the Moto G Play are the best phones at that price
i grabbed one of these yesterday to use until my replacement 5x comes in and to have on hand for an emergency phone in the house. Was the cheapest phone i could find that actually had 2 gigs of ram and a finger print reader that i could pick up in a store.

Its a ~5 inch screen, the difference between 720p and 1080p or higher are going to be so incredibly minor, you won't even notice it.
