They tilt down to 7 degrees, which isnt the best, but it's better than nothing. I will be holding Monitor 30's so I need something a little beefy.
These B-Tech BT77 wall mounts. Very happy with them.
Monitor is hung using a cheap VESA wall mount. It tilts and rotates but there isn't any need to actually move it around where it is. The speakers are sitting on B-Tech-BT77-Ultragrip-Speaker-Black BT77 stands http://www.amazon.com/B-Tech-BT77-Ultragrip-Speaker-Black/dp/B004DCAOHK

I have a pair of speakers (weigh about 7kg each) that I want to mount on the metal railings at the side of my desk.
Picture
Could I just buy a pair of speaker wall mounts, like these
And use them on the side of the desk?
Could I use some sort of clamp instead?
Utterly clueless about DIY so any advice appreciated!
Sorry, but what is it exactly you're looking for? Your post isn't exactly clear. Speaker wall mounts come in all forms and sizes so while you can debate what is "aesthetically pleasing" there should be something for everyone. I personally have a pair of b&w 686 rears hanging from these and while they're not the best looking they are very sturdy and secure even for a comparatively deep speaker like that. You don't really see the mounts as the speaker is in front of them anyways.
You won't need to drill if you get these. They clamp the speaker from the side.

I'm using similar ones: B-Tech BT77
They were the cheapest in germany at the time buying, and they work pretty well. Use them at my desk with the Dali Spektor 1.
The mounts are pretty massive and i think they can hold significant bigger speakers than mine. Mounted them at a plasterboard wall and i think the wall would break earlier than the mounts. I put some felt/foam on them to decouple (?) them a bit and i dont screw on the clamps hard because i dont use them at an angle.
Please excuse my english, feel free to ask again if i missed something.
I have everything except for the speaker stands and wall mounts now. The VideoSecu mounts aren't available where I live unfortunately. Would these work well with the C5 and B5?
