Mouse: Logictech G502. It is widely considered to be the "best" mouse for PC enthusiasts.

Keyboard: Will heavily depend on your preferences, but I have a DASKeyboard 4 Ultimate with Cherry MX Blues (tactile click). I have also heard nice things about the Corsair K70, and Strafe. If you are new to mechanical keyboards, I would recommend checking out the subreddit /r/mechanicalkeyboards for more information.

Headset: I just use an old set of Turtle Beach X12s I've had forever, because I usually just use my soundbar, but a buddy of mine prefers to use a desk mic and some Audio-Technica headphones.

EDIT: Saw your budget in the other comments. You should probably go with the Strafe for your keyboard. Most others below $100 aren't as high of quality. Personally, I think you should get the Strafe, the G502, and the headphones/mic combo.

u/skitthecrit · 19 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Well, at least MX Reds are one of the quieter switches. Keyboard is the STRAFE, if I'm not mistaken.

Typing on one is about the only real way to find out.

The Corsair Strafe KBs aren't that expensive, and they come with Cherry switches. Also available in RGB if you wanna spend a tad more.

You can pick the switch type 'color' on that page.
I'm a brown switch kind of guy. (click feel, but not added click noise)
They also have blues. (Click feel and added click noise)
Also reds. (smooth. no click feel of noise.)
Switches guide is on the sidebar of the sub here.

Or you can go balls to the wall right off the bat and order in a das keyboard or a ducky or something.

A lot of stores have some mechs on display. I typically see the g-series or razers out in stores to just click away on.

Most of these guys/girls are talking about building keyboards from parts or a kit with custom keycaps and whatnot. THAT can get stupid expensive real quick. Doesn't mean you have to blow your wallet on a mech though.

Rubber domes are garbage, but you won't really notice until you spend some time with a mech.

what about the cheaper Corsair STRAFE

I've got a Corsair Strafe right now. Anyone know how this would compare?

u/noroadsleft · 3 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

As much as I don't care for the model, this Corsair Strafe checks nearly all your boxes. It's $80 but the model is usually $100 at retail. If you don't mind buying a used board I'd say get this Cooler Master Quickfire Ultimate. No Amazon Prime there but the seller isn't charging for shipping anyway.

u/MJuniorDC9 · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

About G2A, please, check this and this report about G2A Shield.

For $100, you can get this MK or this. I don't have much experiences on mouses though, but maybe, check here.

u/iceblade1000 · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

I'd like to get full size because TKL always looked strange to me. I've also had my eye on this keyboard.

u/KyleAJ13 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I'd recommend this keyboard and this mouse if you can push your budget, if not then this mouse instead.

u/LordAzir · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Probaby won't get much better than this for -$75:

Corsair STRAFE Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Red LED, Cherry MX Red

https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Rival-Optical-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B0160USMW6

The Rival 300 is such a good, comfortable, no-BS mouse that I have an extra one in box should my current one fail. (It hasn't, in over three years. I haven't been as lucky with Razer and Logitech.) You can adjust DPI and color on it if you want, but I keep the color off, found one DPI and stuck with it.

With keyboards, mechanicals are the best on the market. They really do feel a lot better to press. They're also usually easy to pop the keys on and off, and usually are easy to clean. You also don't need a $179 keyboard, unless you like LEDs a lot. https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-STRAFE-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B00ZUPOMDQ/ I like Corsair keyboards and the Cherry Red switch. Not too loud, good feel to them.

Layouts, if you feel up to starting from scratch, you might take the time to jump into TheCore: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-strategy/341878-thecore-advanced-keyboard-layout or, alternatively, TheCore Lite: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-strategy/333891-thecore-lite-advanced-keyboard-layout These provide options for all 10 control groups to be accessible.

u/mushuku · 2 pointsr/buildapc

the word gaming is an excuse to charge extra. and a keyboard won't help your Cs Go rank. many of my friends made it to LEM with with shitty standard Dell keaboards. If you feel the need fot the word gaming: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-STRAFE-Mechanical-Keyboard-CH-9000088-NA/dp/B00ZUPOMDQ

I found this one for $84 i also listed some other brands keyboards and they are all $80 or below just in case you need other options and they are all mechanical keyboards. Your brother will be satisified with any that i link. Have a good day :) LMK if you have any questions

I have my eyes on this.

u/Jarkeler · 2 pointsr/pcgaming

It's expensive, but tons of people are happy with the look, feel, and build quality of the Corsair K70 line. You can pick up a Corsair Strafe for a lot cheaper if you dont care for RGB, but it will be red LED, still a solid keyboard, but it's made of hard plastic instead of aluminum like the K70. I'd say look up Corsair K70 vs Corsair Strafe and weigh the options of price and look and feel for yourself.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00ZUPOMDQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Much cheaper and looks pretty good for the price, plus extra USB!

u/Warskull · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

My big problem is a lot of the mechnical keyboard companies like to cut out the 10 keys and the price starts to creep back up to the gaming keyboard range or exceed it.

At the same time, I can get a full Corsair keyboard for $70 USD on Amazon right now. A ducky full keyboard usually runs around $100.

That price is competitive with all your suggestions. On top of that it comes with good software and some media keys people love.

It is absolutely worth considering some of the brands you mentioned, but they aren't the hands down winners you make them out to be.

Obviously Razer is a stupid purchase, but Razer is always like that.

Depends on the features you want really. Do you need extra programmable keys or just a normal full size just fine? Really when you are looking at a board its what features can you live with out and how much are you willing to spend? I have a blue switch board with backlighting with out the numpad bc of desk space at home. At work I have a full sized board with out backlights. There are even smaller boards out there that remove the F keys and the arrow keys and use the function key to make up for it.

The Corsairs are highly recomended by gamers, a bunch of guys I work with all have these. I just dont like the feel of reds, they still feel like dome keyboards to me: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-STRAFE-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B00ZUPOMDQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479534008&sr=8-1&keywords=mechanical+keyboard&refinements=p_89%3ACooler+Master%7CCorsair%7CRazer%7CLogitech

The selection endless now days, almost every company that makes PC gaming components makes a mouse and mechanical keyboard or 10. Stick with anything with MX or Gateron switches and you should be fine. Corsair, Thermaltake, Cooler Master, Logitech, Ducky, Das keyboard are all fine(there are so many brands its hard to narrow all of them down off the top of my head.) Check out the mechanical keyboard subreddit, granted a lot of what those guys go with arent gaming boards but you can get an idea of what is considered quality brand wise.

u/razer981 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

How about this Corsair Strafe keyboard?

u/wagon153 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm guessing you don't like the noise of the keyboard? You could get a keyboard with Cherry MX Reds(such as this Corsair keyboard )

If you order from the prime store (you'll have to wait for restock though) the strafe is an awesome keyboard. Had mine for a year and half and love it. At 90$ its a sweet deal. If you don't care for RGB that is.

u/nx_2000 · 1 pointr/CasualConversation

Rocket League on Steam for $12 and a Corsair STRAFE mechanical keyboard for $69. Both are decent deals, but I wouldn't call them steals. I'm not a big black friday shopper but if I see a good price on something I already want, I'll do it.

u/AllHailBidoof · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

I can't decide what keyboard to get- Corsair Strafe or the Leopold FC750R. Do you guys have a suggestion on which one?

u/toasterberry · 1 pointr/osugame

I'd highly suggest a corsair like this one

Probably the best keyboard for the price, if you can deal with the red colors

I would reccomend the Corsair Strafe. It isn't rgb (only red leds) but it is mechanical and has good the build quality of a corsair keyboard.

u/Zoro11031 · 1 pointr/Overwatch

What are your current specs on the PC you're using?

You don't need a mechanical keyboard, the only difference is the keys feel better when you press them. Trust me when I say a mech keyboard makes a negligible difference in skill. If you want my recommendation for a cheap one though, the Strafe goes on sale pretty frequently and is a nice keyboard.

The MAIN thing that will make a big difference is the mouse you use. Pick up a Razer Deathadder, a Steelseries Rival 300, or a Logitech G403 and your aim will probably improve a bit due to their more accurate sensor. Those will run you about 40-60 bucks.

Unless you're in Masters or GM, your reaction time and aim probably aren't refined enough to where 100+ HZ will improve your skill. It'll feel better, but it won't be a huge benefit. Personally I play at 1440P 75 HZ, and the difference I've experienced between this and my old 1080P 60HZ monitor is negligible.

Going to buy a friend of mine a KB for her birthday - needs to be inexpensive, under $50. Thinking of this Redragon or this Corsair Strafe. Opinions? She's not picky, but her KB has been shitty recently and she knows I'm into keyboards so it would make sense.

She would like RGB+wireless but that's a lot to ask for for my price, she isn't picky about switches either, just no clicky. I think the Redragon would be good for the price, she'll be fine with a wired keyboard. Anyone have experience with it, or have a better suggestion?

u/Kasendou · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

How does that compare to this:

https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-STRAFE-Cherry-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B00ZUPOMDQ/

Doesn't seem like too much of a stretch price wise.

*derp, just realized you linked an actual combo that included a mouse.

u/RyanGBaker · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Hey, not bad.

Time to save up for a mechanical keyboard. I recommend Cherry MX Red.

In fact, this is a good keyboard to go for:

https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-STRAFE-Cherry-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B00ZUPOMDQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475090075&sr=8-1&keywords=strafe&th=1

u/KazeNoGotoku · 1 pointr/buildapc

Hey, sorry for the late reply,
first and formost, you can add a separate cooling system if you like, it'll add a bit more to your cost and it's not necessary imo, but it would make the build more silent prob.
Then, I forgot to add a keyboard! a good option would be something like this if you like brown switches

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0QEYR4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_m9ehAb4VV8KZY

or something like this if you like red switches

https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-STRAFE-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B00ZUPOMDQ/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1511838019&sr=1-3&keywords=mechanical+keyboard+red+switch

Lastly, if you want a good cheap monitor then this is a cheap good reliable option

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BRvZxr/benq-monitor-9hle5lbqpa

my only issue with it is that it is a lot smaller than the omen I recommended, so you might want to chose something a bit more on the expensive side that is also good like this

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/PmyFf7/acer-monitor-umfg6aab01

or this

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/FZJkcf/acer-xf240h-240-144hz-monitor-umfx0aa001

hope this helps! good luck on your build!

u/dontheweegee · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

If you can get it I would recommend the KUL ES 87 it's about 144 CAD on elitekeyboards, and it's solidly build, highly recommended all over this sub.
https://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=keyed_up_labs,tenkeyless&pid=es87u_cl_bbb_al

If you can't source that then your other option may be the Coolermaster Quick Fire Rapid, which will come in at a lower price, and still is solidly built.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B007VDLVD4/

The Corsair Strafe is another really good option and will be a pretty good upgrade from your blackwidow, and looks like it's on sale on amazon.ca.

Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2014 is potentially broken and l want to find a replacement. I was eating some ramen earlier and spilled some on my keyboard so I want to order a keyboard and cancel it if my current keyboard works later today.

I was looking at the Corsair Strafe but I'm not entirely sure what to look for.

The corsair strafe which was recently posted on this sub is a pretty solid choice.

However looks like shipping will take a while so if you're willing to wait then get this keyboard.

might be a little pricey, but its a mechanical keyboard (very useful) and cherry mx red switches, which basically are the sweet spot for anyone who plays game as a majority. Red led's, is hot, name brand, best price/(whatever you could say that would be considered performance in keyboard language). If its too pricey, i can link more.
