This stuff is amazing. I have used it in many places and for many things, covering mouse holes with steel wool in apartment floors for instance. It’s dry enough that if you take a 4 inch putty knife full of the product, you can fill the void or hole after 1 or 2 applications, with out it falling down. Really smash it up in there. It dries rock hard like cement overnight, and there is very little shrinkage. If the product refuses to stay up there, pm me for a solution, or see my mesh edit comment. Small areas between wood work should be caulked with a latex exterior caulk asap.
edit: Unless you cut, bend, and secure into place some metal mesh into the large gap, during or after attempting to fill it with caulk, 90% of it will fall down in 5 minutes or less. Because gravity.
