I just bought one of these very cards. I needed a single-slot card to liven up an old AMD PC I built 4 years ago (was a budget build then). It actually plays games fairly well. It can play Left 4 Dead 2 on max settings avg around 35-40FPS. I play GTA V with it and it is very playable although I have the resolution scaled back to 1600x900 and get a consistent 30FPS. All that being said, I wish I saved that $100 for my new skylake build!

Specs of PC I put it in...AMD Athlon II core unlocked (effectively a Phenom B50) @ 3.2GHz, Asus mobo, Crucial BX200 240GB SSD. Nothing fancy. I needed the single slot card because I added a USB 3.0 card for external drive bays. It's basically a beater and I haven't been able to get any stable overclocks on it....anxious to move on!

http://amzn.to/1xSrGIX im not really to experienced but maybe this? It has a higher base clock for better performance but also higher power consumption and price.

It's actually EVGA 740 now that I checked. It's this exact one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KJGYOBQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I got it for my little brother but he barely used it - and he also upgraded to a 1050 since he games (I don't). Is this enough for a 3440x1440 ultrawide? Or a 2560x1080 ultrawide 34" paired with a 1080p 27" monitor? Sorry for all the questions! I appreciate your help.

do you think this is better than the 750ti? i dont have enough $ to go for the 950 right now.

I wanted a new machine, under 2k$ to basically be my onset DIT and field editing machine.
Set up is as such:

I just want to say how awesome your contest is and thank you for holding it. :)

I'm an interesting and beautiful person, but only because I just got all the supplies I need to finally get back into wood working. NOW, I just need some inspiration to get me motivated again.

Also, because a wood worker can always use more of these or even something like this, both of which I have not had the money/couldn't justify buying for myself just yet.

My other hobbies include voiceover type stuff which you can hear some of my recordings here and I am also a gamer, so you can find me on Steam if you are a gamer as well and are looking for someone to game with... Just nothing to graphic intensive because my computer can not handle some of that stuff unless I get a better graphics card like this one... Either way though, hit me up, listen to my recordings if you want and hell, leave me a request for a recording or give me inspiration to make something with the wood and tools I have! lol!

Hope you have a fantastic day and best of luck to all the other people entering this contest! :D

I have an HP HPE-510t Desktop that I inherited from my father. It looks like he's already upgraded the processor to an i7-2600 3.4 GHz, and it has 12 GB of RAM.

The only thing I'm thinking needs upgraded is the graphics card, which is currently a GeForce GT 440.

I'm thinking of buying this graphics card, but I don't know for certain that it's compatible with my motherboard and/or case.

I probably sound stupid, but I don't want to waste $100 just to find out the graphics card wont fit in the machine or connect up to my motherboard correctly. Can anyone help me out?

Hmm, how about this

I know its $30 more than the link you gave me, but it is amazon, and if anything goes wrong, their Customer Service is literally the best. Is that particular one alright too? I know its a 740, but like I said, this stuff isn't my strong spot haha

can you still return it? the apu looks like a really sweet option. otherwise you can get something like this.

pretty much any lower spec and you cant support 2 monitors. this can do 2 1080 but thats its max

u/geolectric · 1 pointr/buildapc

Do you have a suggestion on a card? I haven't really kept up with graphic card technology, and there are way too many choices.

Would something like this be okay?

Or is that pretty weak?

u/twolols · 1 pointr/buildapc

I have the case that comes with this: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2422314,00.asp
My current graphics card is:

After some research I realised I am probably going to need a new PSU, so if you could recommend me a good one that would be nice. Sorry for the late reply, thank you for your help!

u/Sharqawi_A · 1 pointr/buildapc

actually, the total price went up to $660 I'm not from the US so, the shipping costs a lot, I want to reduce the cost as much as I can.

I was wondering if this video card can run Overwatch smoothly https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Superclocked-Graphics-04G-P4-2744-KR/dp/B00KJGYOBQ/ref=sr_1_7?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1484051537&sr=1-7&keywords=geforce+gtx+960&refinements=p_n_feature_four_browse-bin%3A6066316011

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Superclocked-Graphics-04G-P4-2744-KR/dp/B00KJGYOBQ#Ask ..... im going to assume this video card is....oldish so wouldnt exactly work for what i have planned in my pci may just take your build and throw a nice cheap atx case on it, because yours seems better than mine, ive been trying to stay with a normal atx build because my microatx i have now is a pain in the ass to work on because theirs no room to do anything in my shitty dell case
but il give it a chance
